Dragons Circling Above

The following comment was left on the former Arcane Radio YouTube channel:

Since you all are into the "strange" I'd like to tell you about something I witnessed about 6 years ago, down in central Florida. I was staying with some friends and always go out every night to check on the evening sky. I went out on this one night and looked up to see something that made me look away and rub my eyes. It was so amazing! But when I looked back, it was still there! Where I stood on the dark driveway, the moon was directly overhead, and circling around it, in a clockwise direction (from my perspective) were what looked like flying dragons! From the languid swoop of their wings, they had to be really enormous! But they were all black, silhouetted, with the moon above them, and I could see no colors or details.

Then, I realized that above them were dozens and dozens of tiers of more flying dragons, all circling in the same direction! There were easily over a hundred of those dreadful-looking beings, which I believe were Reptilians, as the "royal" ones have enormous wings. I estimate that the lowest one were approximately 500 feet up, though it's difficult to say exactly. And I began to wonder if they could see me down there, watching them, which was not a very comforting thought! I wanted to run to get my friends to see all this, but was afraid of what I might miss!

Then I noticed to the right of them, an enormous, black, circular craft, slowly and silently approaching the creatures. It was easily a dozen times the width of the moon and all around its rim, was a black, curling, wispy mist, which I thought must be some kind of cloaking device. Very slowly the craft crept closer and closer to the circling beings, until it had completely obscured them, as well as the moon. It never stopped or slowed down and remained totally silent. And after it cleared the place where the dragons flew, the sky was empty, save for the gibbous moon and the cold stars. As I watched it move off into the black night, I realized it could never be seen, being so quiet and hidden.

My theory about what had happened is...you know how when people are out boating, they will sometimes jump into the water for a refreshing swim?...well, I believe the Reptilians had left their craft to stretch those terrible wings, and were circling there, waiting for it to catch up with them, to get back on board. That's just my theory, because who knows what wicked mischief they'd really been up to? I told my friends what I'd seen, and being the skeptics they are, they said it was probably bats or birds, but I know what bats and birds look like, and what I saw was something I'd never seen before, or since.

For days after that event, I worried they might return to do some harm to me, for spying on them! And it's a creepy feeling to think what might be there in the black, night sky, just out of our sight! Thanks for letting me tell my experience, and keep trekking...into the mystic. KL

NOTE: The witness did not give a specific location, but I have a suspicion this occurred in or near the Sarasota / Charlotte / DeSoto County areas of southwest Florida. Who Was Driving the Old Trolley Bus?

“True story of my own personal experience of a ghost vehicle. More than 30 years ago, sometime around the mid 1980's, I was just a very young boy and had gone with my dad to a local shopping area. I can't recall anything whatsoever about the occasion, where exactly we had been, for what purpose, but my memory of it begins with us waiting for a bus to take us home. When the bus arrived, it looked like the typical type of double decker bus which operated in the city, except for having two long metal prongs sticking from the roof. My dad actually worked for this very same bus company at the time, drove the entire fleet of vehicles including on the route we were about to be travelling on as passengers. Yet he sounded pleasantly surprised by the vehicle. "Oh, it's an old trolley bus!" he exclaimed. That phrase is perhaps the most striking part of the event. I had never encountered the term "Trolley bus." before.

As the bus was pulling up to let us on board, I asked what a trolley bus was, and my dad gave me an extremely brief yet thoroughly descriptive explanation that they were trackless trams which operated on electricity from overhead cables, supplied through the two conductive rods on top of the vehicle. He expressed shock that the vehicle was even running at all, as it had no electricity power supply on this route, or indeed anywhere in the city, and they could not be converted to run on fuel. The bus pulled up, opened its door and we boarded. The fare was payable to the driver upon boarding, yet we immediately encountered a problem with doing that. There was no driver. As vivid as can be, I can still recall the sight of the driver's cab without anyone occupying it. There was an awkward moment, then the so-called driver asked for the fare, yet he was seated on one of the long passenger benches towards the front of the bus which were situated side-on. He had a ticket / coin machine on his lap. The door closed and the bus pulled away whilst my dad dealt with buying the tickets. We stood at the front of the vehicle, right by the driver's cab and I swear this bus was driving itself. The steering wheel was turning, the bus was in motion, there was not a driver in the cab. My dad didn't seem alarmed by any of this and chatted to both the "driver" and another man in a uniform who stood beside, surely an inspector, about the vehicle whilst obtaining the tickets. There is only a certain amount of time that you can watch a bus drive itself before asking "How is this bus driving itself?!", which is exactly what I did. My dad was in a smiley, relaxed mood about it and told me that it was being driven by remote control. Well, the "driver" on the passenger seat certainly wasn't operating a remote control, none of the other occupants were, not to mention that it would not be possible anyway.

This 10 minute journey did not have anyone on-board driving it. It was a puzzling event, yet being so young I just accepted it, especially because my dad wasn't showing concern about the unusualness of it all. But it never left my memory. I brought it up in conversations with people down the years, right into adulthood. My dad is now deceased, but some years ago I asked him about the event. As I was recounting it, at first he had no recollection of it and was dismissive of the possibility that a trolley bus could be in any way converted to run in the city. Yet I recounted the story in full detail and by the end of it his memory was significantly jogged. With bewilderment he claimed that he could remember the event I had described. But, like myself, could not begin to explain how this event occurred when none of what happened could be possible. Two people now remembered this event. But it left many questions unanswerable as to how those impossibilities actually occurred. I will never be able to explain how this happened, but I know for certain that it did.”

RESEARCH CENTER CONCEPT

Hey folks...I posted earlier at Facebook: "Could talk of a brick & mortar UFO / anomalies research center actually become a reality?"

Let me clarify my statement. We are liquidating the family business due to my father's health issues...and I will eventually have a building available. Butch, myself and a few friends have talked about opening an actual research center for several years. There have been various attempts by others in the past...but the lack of funds, leases, non-support, etc. have resulted in their closure.

This project is merely a 'thought' at this point...but I feel that this is a venture that could gain some momentum. Just putting it 'out there' for suggestions and thoughts, which are welcomed.

There would be ample space for actual research, with database access and other media availability. We will focus on all facets of the paranormal and the supernatural...cryptids, UFOs, non-terrestrial beings, spiritual, unknown entities, etc. There is another 500 square feet of open floor space available for lectures / meetings. I also have a secure parking lot, which can be expanded if needed.

This will not be a profit-making enterprise. Any expenses would need to be covered through donations, fundraisers and volunteers. It would be based in south central Pennsylvania (in Hanover...just east of Gettysburg and southwest of York). Lon

Mountain Lions Prowling the SF Bay Area

They are suspected of making off with a small dog in Pescadero. They’re being blamed for mysterious sheep deaths in Sonoma County. And local outdoors writer Tom Stienstra even found one lurking outside the back door of his Northern California house the other day.

They’re mountain lions. And lately they seem to be making a ton of cameo appearances all over the Bay Area and up and down the state. Here’s a local listing of where the animals have been spotted or at least have been suspected of showing up, sometimes to the alarm of ranchers, wildlife officials and panicked pet owners.

Residents in and around this sleepy coastal burg have been on edge in recent days as county officials are warning the public there may be an aggressive mountain lion in the area. Over the weekend, a resident in the 5000 block of Pescadero Creek Road let their small pet outside the home around 9 p.m. Saturday. A short time later, the resident reportedly heard the pet yelp and it has not been seen since.

County officials said that while they can’t positively confirm that it was a lion that snatched that particular pet there have been reports recently of an aggressive lion in the same area that has killed livestock. Officials cautioned residents to keep a sharp eye on their pets and any livestock in their care, especially late at night and early in the morning. “When I was a little girl, maybe about 7 years old, I went outside to play. I went through a door at the side of my house that is also connected to the garage. Anyways, while I was hanging out by the side of my house, I looked to my right (where there was an empty lot full of grass and stuff) and I saw something about the size of a large dog with pitch black eyes looking at me. It was light brown, had long fur, and was hiding in the grass. I think it’s face was like a monkey? Anyways I’m almost 100% sure it wasn’t a dog, cat or anything else! I screamed so loud that my parents ran out and started to look for whatever it was. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I need answers!”

Lighthouse in Pennsylvania?

“I see a lighthouse on the right night...little bit of fog / mist to show the light. There are no lighthouses in the middle of Pennsylvania. I've seen this three times last year. No idea what it is and would love to know. It is always around midnight and in the same place about every three seconds the light faintly moves, spins, disappears then appears on the other side. Like I said, it looks like an old lighthouse. Anyone else ever see this? Even in Pennsylvania, no one sees it. My mom was there but she can't see what seems about 5 miles away above the mountain. It's not a red blinking light. There are no lights on this mountain.”

Thai Officials Conduct Ritual Exorcism

Spooky incidents at the Labour Ministry’s Bangkok headquarters prompted a ritual exorcism on Thursday aimed at freeing trapped spirits of the deceased and shielding civil servants from further disturbances.

Lights turning on and off and doors opening by themselves were also blamed on “bad feng shui” at the ministry compound in Din Daeng district.

Narongsak Khukittirat from the Chaopor Nagaraj Jansen Shrine in Nakhon Sawan, who led the ritual, pointed out that a road cuts right through the compound, which he said allows wandering spirits to manifest paranormal phenomena.

Narongsak, who is known as Ajarn Haew Mordu Thevada, and monks from Wat Cherng Tha in Lop Buri conducted the hour-long ceremony, which Labour Minister Pol General Adul Saengsingkaew and permanent secretary Jarin Chakkaphark attended. Real-Life 'Alf' Encounter

This is a response to this previous post:

“I also had an encounter with 'Alf'. It was in the early 90s. When I was approximately 7 years old, I remember playing in my Grandma's backyard. My Grandma would take care of several of my cousins as well as myself. We were in the backyard playing when suddenly over the fence pops up Alf. It seemed like he was floating just over fence. He begins speaking to us. Everybody froze and looked over and my older cousin, who was approximately 12, begins talk to it. He said a few words which I cannot remember and then we all ran away. The funny thing is my cousin's can't seem to remember that. Only the one that spoke to him has no memory of it and myself. I had forgotten for several years. It's almost as if our memories where blocked. It's odd. I know it's a real memory. The fact that my oldest cousin also remembers tells me it was not made up.”

“I lived in Tennessee...we had just moved out to what I call the 'country country.' I had this minivan and I had put this red IU ball on the antenna. I had mapped my way to work the night before. I worked at the prison. If I went back into town, it would take me an extra 45 minutes just to get to town. So I mapped this way which would take me down a road where on one side was state protected land.

To make a long story short. I left for work and I got to the main road that would take me to work on my right side is the protected land and on the left is not. The trees are grown over above you and connect together. As I was driving I swore I heard something flying behind me...then that sound of my antenna going dinggggg, so I sped up to 60 mps. I felt it or saw it again that night, so I sped up to 80. Now I gotta let you know, my antenna cannot hit anything because my top of the van is higher. I heard it a 3rd time at 80 mps: dingggg! Some time had passed. I'm not sure when I noticed the IU ball missing but whenever I took that route, I did it at 80 to 100 mps. Eventually I mapped a different route. Out of all that, I swore it was a huge bat I could see in the dark behind me.”

'Are we being activated?'

Jonestown, FL - 2018-02-22 - 3:00AM: I have observed many reports in my area. I am a demonologist, however it has come to my attention certain things about myself being part of government testing growing up and for some reason I am being drawn to others similar to me. It seems like possibly someone is trying to activate us and its side effects are others are being set off like just a couple miles from me the man who shot up the White House lived. I have been researching this a lot lately but only in the last 24 hours have I started to see the effects. I personally have been dealing with going to sleep and waking up with open and doors that are emergency exits (fire escape) are being unlocked and baby gates left open after years of never doing that. There was also a report of something going on nearby. One client I have is reporting seeing a ball of light white with red edges in Jonesville. I have another client who has reported lights at another time and is writing a book about it and another client in the New York area reporting seeing bright ball of lights as well. These lights are in front of them. I personally experienced the balls of light which I chalked up as ball lightning for a long time. That happened in 2002 and there seems to be similarities to the others...like increased psychic abilities or in some cases none reported before but developed after. Many are close in age and or being born in an area known for government testing and facilities.

It's a long story and I could type all day the years of these things for myself. I have personally seen 2 UFO's and 1 instance of seeing small grey alien creatures when I was 12 and I am 41 now. The alien was invisible. Regardless, I am sure something is going on we should be getting prepared for. I am hoping someone will contact me. I am friends with many on Facebook who are part of your society but I recently was banned for 30 days and can't message them. Please feel free to text me. Beware of Mystery Killer 'Disease X'

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has put scientists and health workers around the globe on alert for a new and potentially deadly pathogen - Disease X.

Each year the Geneva-based organisation, which is charged with monitoring and safeguarding world health, convenes a high-level meeting of senior scientists to list diseases that pose a serious risk of prompting a major international public health emergency.

In previous years the list has been confined to known killers such as Zika, Lassa fever, which is sweeping Nigeria, and Ebola, and which killed more than 11,000 people in an epidemic in west Africa between 2013 and 2016.

However, this year a mystery pathogen has been added as the ninth item on the watch list for the first time. "Disease X represents the knowledge that a serious international epidemic could be caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease," said the WHO in a statement. Huge Mysterious Fish Found in Queensland

The huge unidentified creature has prompted an international quest over what the creature could be - with several experts saying they have "never seen anything like it".

John and Riley Lindholm came across the creature on a beach at Bundaberg in southern Queensland this week.

The couple took several pictures of the sea beast, which they posted on social media, requesting help in identification.

The Truth That Was Out There: Long John Nebel’s Fight Against the Censorship of Flying Saucer Reports, Part I

Throughout the 1950s and into the early 1960s, the American people came to know the truth that was out there, the truth about the extraterrestrial origin of the flying saucers that traversed our skies on a continual basis. They learned about this great truth from the “contactees,” those select individuals privileged enough to encounter and converse with the flying saucer occupants. The platform the contactees enjoyed in broadcasting their message from the extraterrestrials was Long John Nebel’s late night radio talk program, Party Line, initially transmitted to a geographic listening area covering 25 contiguous states over station WOR in New York City, beginning in 1954.

Born John Zimmerman in 1911, the controversial late night talk show host did not start his career in radio until he was 43 years old. Up until 1954, he held various jobs in sales; and through his running of a successful auction house in New Jersey came into frequent contact with various East Coast radio station advertising sales representatives from whom he purchased air time for advertisements. 1954 was a crucial year for radio. It was receiving a lot of competition from the new and burgeoning television industry. Hence, network radio executives were looking for a new format that would help distinguish their media from television broadcasting. As Nebel proposed a talk show format where listeners could actually call in to the program, and live at that, the radio moguls decided to let Nebel take a hand at implementing his own idea. Nebel’s proposal had potential, they reasoned. They had nothing to lose by trying it out, and the world to gain.

Success of the Party Line

The program was a great success. It was heartily received by a vast listening audience. After three years on the air, the ufology community could not do without it. Mrs. Walton Colcord John of 4811 Illinois Avenue, N.W., in Washington DC, was the editor and publisher of the famous Little Listening Post newsletter, a very important but irregularly published periodical coming out, on average, about every two to three weeks. Mrs. John, however and for the most part, kept her name off of the newsletter. She probably feared government reprisals for her efforts at uncovering the truth about the elusive flying saucers. But she constantly kept her ears open for any breaking news about investigations of saucer reports or related areas of research; and most of all, she was an avid listener of Long John Nebel’s Party Line broadcasts. In a special bulletin issued by the Little Listening Post on 8 February 1957, Mrs. John opined of Long John Nebel that he was “the UFO’s best friend in the United States today.”

“Long John,” she further added, “conducts a unique radio forum from 1:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., seven days a week, on Mutual’s station WOR in New York. In a few months time a miracle has happened for UFO. Long John’s program has metamorphosed from a disc-jockey program into the world’s most broad-minded public forum on what Long John calls ‘off-beat’ subjects: flying saucers, UFO, reincarnation, occultism, extra-sensory perception, psycho-kinesis--- in short: the ‘borderland sciences.’”

Mrs. John provides an excellent summary of what the Party Line program was for the readers of her Little Listening Post newsletter: “Long John calls his program the ‘Party Line;’ and it is in reality almost that very thing. Guests of the Party Line sit in informal groups, munch crackers and drink coffee, around a big table loaded with microphones, in a building full of glowing transmitter tubes, flickering lights, fluctuating meters and big copper coils. They hold completely uninhibited bull-sessions on topics not usually given time on air. Red neon lights flutter and blink on the phones. Long John answers and Party Liners as far away as Canada, Florida and Illinois join in the lively discussions. Within the bounds of propriety, no holds or topics are barred. There are now an estimated 1,500,000 UFO Party Liners, and fan mail often runs to several hundred letters a day. Pillow coddlers are staying awake until dawn, maintaining the ‘High Watch’ and hearing their pet subjects propounded…. and ufology has come into its own.”

While local reports of flying saucers and the opinions of regional flying saucer investigators were plentiful in the great variety of independent newspapers being published throughout the United States and the world at the outset of 1957, radio network administrators were hesitant to go out on a limb in broadcasting such information to the public at large. The charismatic “Long John,” so called because of his lanky, thin 6’4” frame, had other opinions on the matter. While he did not necessarily “buy into” every reported UFO or alleged encounter with flying saucer occupants that would pass over his desk, he was more than willing to concede that some of the sightings and incidents may very well be real. Our ignoring of such would accomplish little; and it might even be something that we were thoughtlessly doing at our own peril.

Good Time Slot: Every Ufologist’s Dream

Up until the mid-1950s, most radio stations, if they weren’t signing off at midnight or an hour or two thereafter, were playing classical music into the wee hours of the morning. With the arrival of the smaller hours of the a.m., most of the turmoil of the city had subsided. The cosmos was lending itself to contemplation by introspective minds. The executives at WOR Radio wisely surmise that such pensive individuals might well be attracted to the kind of thinking person’s programming then being proposed by Nebel.

In lieu of this, Mrs. John at the Little Listening Post noted that the hours of 1:00 to 5:30 a.m. “are ideally suited to study and investigation and discussion of UFO and all the cosmic subjects which have been crowded off the air by commercials. So---” she added by way of explanation, “Long John converted the psychic hours into a great gift to ufology, contributing much to the great resurgence of UFO interest in the winter of 1956-57. Here, at last, is what every ufologist has dreamed about: frank, public and informative discussion…. for the millions.”

With Missionary Zeal

Word of Long John Nebel’s intriguing UFO programs had reached the West Coast and wonderful guests like George Adamski of Palomar Gardens and George Van Tassel of the Giant Rock Airport, both situated in California, would make regular stops to the WOR studios when they were on tour in the Eastern states. Visitors from California and other Western states to locations back East situated in the reception area of the Party Line broadcast, after hearing a broadcast or two, started to ponder what could be done to provide national coverage for the program. Since the Little Listening Post was the most widely distributed newsletter in the American ufology community, editor and publisher Mrs. John made the unilateral decision that everyone on her subscription list, or even anyone with an interest in paranormal phenomena or UFOs should write to the Mutual Broadcasting Company at 1440 Broadway, New York City 18, New York, and “insist that the Party Line be put on the Mutual Network, so that all of us can hear it.” This was carried out with as true missionary zeal.

Fans of the flying saucers at the time were quick to point out that Mutual Broadcasting Company’s radio correspondent Frank Edwards (1908-1967) had been discussing UFOs and interviewing various investigators of the phenomenon since the first appearance of the objects over Mt. Rainier in Washington state on 24 June 1947, as reported by the civilian pilot Kenneth Arnold who was flying his Call-Air plane in the vicinity of the Cascade Range on the afternoon of that fateful day. While Edwards was not on the air for four and a half hours every night and aired in the daytime, the subject of flying saucers proved to be both a profitable one for the Mutual Network and a captivating as well as a serious topic for an estimated 10,000,000 listeners. Edwards’ program was sponsored by the prestigious American Federation of Labor and had a strong base in the working class.

Mrs. John’s advice was followed by the ufology community. They even exceeded the suggestions of the Little Listening Post’s editor and publisher. Each reader contacted at least three friends in the United States, and even in Canada and Mexico, if they had any dear ones resident in those countries. “OK,” said Mrs. John, “continue to urge foreign correspondents to start a Party Line in their own countries. It will require thousands of letters to do this. But this is the opportunity that all saucer fans have been awaiting.” In ever increasing numbers, people began to listen to Long John Nebel’s program to learn about every phase of ufology, in addition to other interesting, but “off-beat” topics. As more were tuning in, they, in turn, would phone their friends and ask them to tune in on the Party Line, WOR at 710 on the AM dial, every night from 1:00 to 5:30 a.m., without fail.

“And jam those phone lines,” exhorted Mrs. John. “Please phone WOR and participate in Long John’s Party Line.

“But most important of all,” she emphasized, “write to Long John, care of Radio WOR; and tell him you are grateful for the helpful program. Make suggestions and ask questions.”

The result was that Long John Nebel’s Party Line became the first truly North American network program.

Mutual Broadcasting Company’s correspondent Frank Edwards frequently covered UFO reports on his daytime radio program. Because of the success of Edwards’ program, the flying saucer-crazed public demanded, and received, WOR’s incorporation of Long John Nebel’s program in its late night coverage over the entire North American continent.

Farwell, Michigan on 2017-08-12: At around 2:30 am on a Saturday morning in August of 2017. I woke up to go to the bathroom like anybody would at 2:30 am waking up. So, when I was walking up my stairs, when I opened the basement door, I immediately attached to something, and whatever it was, it carried me to my backyard. When the thing was carrying me on its shoulder to my backyard, I saw 6 red-orange glowing objects in the sky and they were just hovering there making no noise, and the 6 glowing objects were in a V shape formation, but with no lead tip part of the v shape formation.

I did some research online that day, and no UFO sightings were reported, and also no military activities on that day it happened. So anyways, a platform dropped and once this thing stepped onto the platform, I blacked out. Everything turned white. from what I remember. I woke up with humanoid figures looking down at me, and once I had woken up, I couldn't move anything but my eyes. Then I blacked out again, and everything turned white again. I remember one more thing and that thing was waking up (once i waked up, i couldn't move any part of my body except my eyes) at what looked like some type of alien science fair with professional looking scientists. I don't think that they've noticed me while I was looking around. These beings looked like the grey beings that we would describe as tall and grey. When I woke up, they were all clapping as if they've accomplished something using me. I believe that these beings, whoever they are, are preparing me for something big that I don't know of. - MUFON

UFO Encounter in Guilford, CT

“In the summer of 1995, two of my friends and I sat in the dugout of the Guilford, Connecticut high school baseball fields drinking beer and talking. Sometime that night I noticed something was flying low to the ground in a very odd erratic manner. After pointing it out to my buddies we were trying to figure out what it was. At first I thought it was one of those remote controlled planes but it was circular with red lights, it way too big, and was silent plus I have never seen anything move like that. All three of us walked out to around center field and was amazed by it's flight pattern when two more showed up.

At this point flight mode kicked in remembering earlier in the year I saw the movie '"Fire In The Sky' and decided that this was the last thing I wanted, so I ran to my car and we took off. To this day I can't figure out what they were as drones were not to my knowledge around in 1995. And these definitely did not move like drones. On my life that is a true story and wonder if anyone else has a similar story.”

The U.S Centers for Disease Control Prevention on Thursday revealed of a cluster of progressive lung disease affecting dentists and other dental workers.

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

The patients, who were treated at a single tertiary care center in Virginia, were diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or IPF, a type of chronic lung disease marked by a progressive and irreversible decline in lung function.

Symptoms of the disease include gradual onset of a dry cough and shortness of breath. The disease does not have a cure yet and those affected often live only about three to five years after diagnosis. The cause of the illness is unknown. The Elephant in the Pond

“Well speaking of cryptids. I’m not sure if this story belongs in that category. I was around 11 and I liked to fish and catch critters at the pond that was located at a very nice townhouse and condo neighborhood. The pond was behind my apartment complex in Alexandria, Virginia just a few miles away from George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate.

It was a beautiful sunny summer day and I was alone at the pond. I was unable to find any of my friends that day to join me as I hunted for something to take home to join my menagerie. I was looking for turtles and frogs so I was turning over the big rocks that lined the pond. As I sat there turning over rock after rock something caught my attention out the corner of my eye. I lifted my head and focused towards the middle of the pond. There I saw what looked like an elephant trunk breaking the surface of the water. Then as if the trunk had eyes it turned toward me and broke through the water making a beeline straight for me. Me being a young 11 year old child was terrified. I dropped whatever tools I had and ran. I ran like the wind. I ran from the pond through the path that snakes through a small patch of woods that let out beside my apartment building. I broke through the woods and I ran. I ran from the woods to the apartment building. I ran upstairs. I ran to my door and almost took it off the hinges. I don’t know why I had this overwhelming urge to flee. I mean I was safe when I got to the woods. I was very far from the pond at that point, but this creature invoked a fear that I can’t explain. There was no visible sign of danger. I mean all that I saw was what looked like an elephant trunk. I didn’t see a head, a body or teeth.

What this creature was I couldn’t tell you. I was too scared to stay around for its complete reveal. The only animals I know with a trunk is an elephant or maybe an anteater. Elephants aren’t indigenous to Virginia and I hadn’t heard of any that escaped in our area at the time. Besides I had been at the pond for maybe 30 minutes at the time. There is no way an elephant could have been underwater all that time. The pond is maybe 5 feet deep, way to shallow to hide an elephant. The other thing is, the trunk acted as if it could see me. When it breached the water it turned around like it was looking for something and when it turned to my direction it stopped like it could see me and sort of tilted to the side as if it was checking me out. Then it rose a bit and through itself in my direction. It saw me and it wanted me. Why I don’t know. An attack or a hello; I can only guess because as you already know I didn’t stick around to find out.

After I entered my apartment door and realized I could run no more, I asked myself 'why am I running?' I gathered myself and regained my composure and talked myself into returning to the pond. For one I had to retrieve the tools I dropped and two I had to find out just what exactly I just witnessed. So with my curiosity pulling me back to the pond I returned a little horrified and a lot curious. But whatever it was that sent me running home was nowhere to be found. I fished that pond for what was left of my childhood and never saw anything like that again. What gets me the most about that day was the irrational sense of fear. I mean when I finally stopped running and thought about it, the fear had subsided. I think whatever it was in the water that day was something I was never supposed to see, and my body knew it and responded.”

Louisiana: For the past two months I had been seeing a number of lights moving above my house. At first I thought the lights were drones. I noticed after watching them night after night they didn't move like drones I've ever flown. I got binoculars and a spotting scope and noticed a central white RGB type light in a V patterned small craft. I considered it to most likely be an alien drone or possibly a military drone. Possible since I'm so close to an airport. Well I decided one night to go outside and signal the small crafts with a flashlight. I've heard math is the universal language. So I flashed a couple sequences of prime numbers. I told my wife come outside quick. I could see a large ship approaching from a few houses down nearly grazing the tree tops. Turning and redirecting itself towards my backyard like it already knew my GPS location. I looked in amazement followed by shock and fear. It passed slowly like it was looking for a place to land. Backyard too small and too many trees around. But it passed so close I could have thrown a baseball and hit it. It slowly passed my yard and went over neighbors yard and I couldn't see it anymore after. I look up and seen about 10 same type of ships flying fast high in the sky in a sequence. Then I notice smoke everywhere. Like my neighbors house was burning down. Smelled like gunpowder. I looked for the source of smoke. I believe the ship popped off smoke before it was going to try and land one street over. I realized I would have had a heart attack if it did land. To describe them. Large square bronze looking metal. White lights around sides. Circle pattern red flashing lights on bottom. Craft looked Egyptian from my point of view. My wife says she had a hard time with glare of white lights and couldn't give definite description.

The next afternoon were all outside and hundreds of them are in the sky. I could hear the neighbors' kids making jokes of an invasion. I saw people looking up down the street. I called my mom and told her. She said I need help. I started to film one as it got dark. My wife and I are sitting in chairs in the middle of our lawn. One is flying over and I'm recording. The next morning before work I decide to watch video. Like usual when I record a UFO the video isn't what was thought to be recorded. To sum it up, I recorded a ufo landing a few feet from me and a little alien next to it. Looking right at me. Now the repercussion of this lasted 3 or 4 days. Dark entities manifested in a bunch of my photos on my phone, my wife's phone. Even pictures in other unrelated clouds. Needless to say I had to delete a lot of pictures. Alien photo editors. The Beast of Tarpaulin Creek

Did a rogue monster terrorize a district in north east NSW, Australia, in the 1880’s? If so, what was it?

In 1884 the monthly Illustrated Sydney News edited by Philip Holdsworth (1851–1902), published an original poem called ‘Tarpaulin Creek’ or ‘What Is It?’ by Duplex. The poet hailed from Bingera (today Bingara), NSW, 204 km (127mi) southeast of the haunted creek area.

The Tarpaulin Creek is a meandering waterway that flows seasonally south west from the Queensland-NSW border to the Boomi River; there is now a management dam at the head, so the monster’s cave “’mid impassable rocks” may be submerged. The surrounding plains are rich grazing and farming land, and suitable for sheep--easy prey for the monster. The nearest town today is Boomi, NSW.

The opening verses ask what is it? There is wild speculation in the district, many believe it is a supernatural being; however, from the description in the poem, it was a Yowie/Bigfoot.

The beast, we are told, resembles a man “a man he oft seems”, and it is huge with a frame like a “gnarled oak” and it can push over large trees. It has a dun or grey hairy chest, a clubfoot “his foot is turned backwards” and an attitude “At the gleam of his eye all courage is gone”. It has in the past “vanquished... rifle”.

It mainly emerges at night when its loud vocalization “curdles the blood and stiffens the hair” and God help those who encounter it: Poor Jehu, a young coachman, has aged overnight; one of the “riflemen bold”, presumably a police trooper, has tearful flashbacks; and the road carrier, insomnia and nightmares. The “bearded strong men”, likely prospectors, have wisely fled.

When the poem was published, critics labeled Duplex a liar and/or the witnesses drunks; however, the editor, a poet himself, told readers:“With the verse ‘What is it?’ we received the names of several influential residents of the district referred to, as collateral proof that there is something more than the semi-idiotic ravings occasioned.” So, there may have been truth behind it.

Certain words used may be unfamiliar: A hobgoblin is a wicked hearth spirit; lusus a freak of nature; potheen a traditional Irish liquor; dirk a knife; Gorgon in Greek mythology a dreadful female creature; Bluebeard in French folklore a serial wife killer; bole a tree trunk; termagent a violent overbearing person; and Banshee in Irish mythology a female spirit who heralds the death of a family member, usually by loud wailings.

Is this verse a hoax or history? You be the judge.

TARPAULIN CREEK, BY DUPLEX.

A thing is reported on Tarpaulin Creek,
Most awesome, uncanny, it blanches the cheek;
Is it demon or brute? 'Tis matter of doubt —

Would you measure his strength, mark, through the bush glade,

'Neath the clouded half-moon a man he oft seems,
But from no human throat come those eerie screams —
The roar of the man-eater, roused from his lair,
Just so curdles the blood and stiffens the hair.

The termagant, storming her husband quite deaf,
Quivers at that dread voice as quivers the leaf;
The hound, that would track fiercest men to the death,
Flies—like craven cur—from the grey adder's breath.

The night-coach, where road crosses creek, comes from town,
With passengers skilfully rocked up and down;
Poor Jehu, a young man some two years ago,
Now looks so quite altered, his years you can't know.

Not so many miles off are riflemen bold,
They shoot for high honour, they shun the base gold,
But the coolest, deadliest shot in the clan
Just touch on the thing—is no longer a man.

The carrier, by camp-fire beginning to dose,
Gets, only by fits, his much-needed repose;
Old Bloomer, the staunchest, most tried of the team,
Is off, quite a "flyer”; it can't be a dream.

And, most certain it is, that bearded strong men,
Who have met him but once won't meet him again;
They are wise—for, with frame like the gnarled oak stem,
He could treat, as mere playthings, a score like them.

Now read me the riddle, if read it you can,
What vanquishes thus rifle, horse, dog, and man;
Come, speak with discretion, and tell it to me—
This ogre of night ! — is he brute or Banshee?

'Hello Dave. You're looking well today'

Fifty years ago next month, invitation-only audiences gathered in specially equipped Cinerama theaters in Washington, New York and Los Angeles to preview a widescreen epic that director Stanley Kubrick had been working on for four years. Conceived in collaboration with the science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke, “2001: A Space Odyssey” was way over budget, and Hollywood rumor held that MGM had essentially bet the studio on the project.

The film’s previews were an unmitigated disaster. Its story line encompassed an exceptional temporal sweep, starting with the initial contact between pre-human ape-men and an omnipotent alien civilization and then vaulting forward to later encounters between Homo sapiens and the elusive aliens, represented throughout by the film’s iconic metallic-black monolith. Although featuring visual effects of unprecedented realism and power, Kubrick’s panoramic journey into space and time made few concessions to viewer understanding. The film was essentially a nonverbal experience. Its first words came only a good half-hour in.

Audience walkouts numbered well over 200 at the New York premiere on April 3, 1968, and the next day’s reviews were almost uniformly negative. Writing in the Village Voice, Andrew Sarris called the movie “a thoroughly uninteresting failure and the most damning demonstration yet of Stanley Kubrick’s inability to tell a story coherently and with a consistent point of view.” And yet that afternoon, a long line—comprised predominantly of younger people—extended down Broadway, awaiting the first matinee. Coast Guard Cutter Encounters USOs Off Key West

“It was the summer of 2000 and I was just a non-rate stationed on a 110’ Coast Guard cutter out of Key West, FL. We had enjoyed three days of calm weather and the seas where glassy smooth. Rare nights like this are when smugglers like to make a run and we were sitting on a darkened ship on a known drug route, an awesome fishing spot due to a massive drop off underneath us. We had our radars set to max, our ears wide open and our mouths clamped shut. Sound carries like crazy out there and sometimes you can hear the engines of a 'go-fast' screaming before radar even picks them up. But tonight was dead. No activity at all.

I was coming onto the bridge for the 0330 watch shift. Our J.O.D. was checking the equipment for a pass-down but when he got to the radar he gave a little “WTF” under his breath. The oncoming O.O.D. came over to see what was up, said the same thing then called our C.O. on the sound powered phone. We heard him say, “Hey Cap, we have two contacts moving fast coming straight at us about 40 knots out.” So we think we are about to see some action and everyone starts getting amped up when we hear him give the speed. “400 knots and holding steady.” At this point we think it’s just a radar anomaly or some “running rabbits” radar type echo. But these two staggered contacts stayed on the scope, and their signal just got stronger. Whatever it was was about the size of a cargo ship moving about 450 mph and wasn’t even leaving a wake. (You can see a wake on radar especially on a calm night.) After hearing this the C.O. is on deck in his bathrobe about 30 seconds later just staring at the radar and everyone is just perplexed trying to get a look in over his shoulder. So he sends us all out onto the bridge wing with night vision goggles and has us all looking out for these things. Every few seconds he is counting down the range and right when they get to 8 miles out they simply drop off the radar. Boom. Just gone.

Now both of us non-rates get sent down to the bow of the ship and told to listen for anything. See if we can hear anything or see anything or whatever. So we listen and it’s so quiet that all we can hear is the blood pounding in our ears. Then after not even a minute of vigilance we see something. Two lights under water moving fast. Coming directly at us. If we had blinked we would have missed them. In just a moment they had past directly under our bow and where gone. The best description I can give would be like two train lights moving slightly staggered, not too deep under crystal clear water. Maybe 40 or 50 feet down. The leading vessel was slightly silhouetted by the trailing vessel and the brief impression I got of it was like the engine car of a train. Just way larger. It was over so fast I really never got a look so I can’t say much more than that about them. My fellow lookout and I exchanged a shocked look at each other and he asked me if I had just seen it too. We talked excitedly about it for a second and ran back up to report our findings.

After we made it to the bridge and started telling the C.O. what we had seen the Quarter Master shut us up saying they had popped back up on radar. Sure enough, 8 miles out, there they where. Still moving staggered at 400 knots. We watched them disappear off radar at about 40 plus miles in silence. All of us just holding our positions until they passed out of range. Then the old man asked us what we saw. We told him and after a minute of silence he just said. “Weird...radar glitch it is.” Then sighed and went back to bed. After he wished us a good watch and went below deck the C.O.B. (Most senior Chief Of the Boat) pulled us up to the flying bridge for a talk. He basically told us that there are lots of weird things out here and that this is not the first time he had heard about “under water oddities” from sailors, but was the first he had ever been a part of. He didn’t say we shouldn’t tell anyone but he made it pretty clear most people wouldn’t believe us if we did. That was it.

The next night was just as calm and we ended up stopping a drug smuggler with nearly a ton of product on board and we all just sort of put the incident behind us and moved on with our normal lives. All I can say after two decades of experience in the military is that in the middle of the ocean on a clear night and with a good set of NVG’s you can see little zippy things in the sky, just about every night if you have some patience. In my years of sea-time I’ve seen lots of odd things but that night will always stand out in my memories.”

'What happened to me?'

“I live about a half hour from where I work and can get there going about 5 different ways. I usually take the most direct path because the other ways take me into Amish country and heavy deer traffic. Plus its shorter obviously. I pulled out of my driveway...and the next thing I remember is pulling into a gas station in a town almost 2 hours in the opposite direction! A good chunk of the way across the state where I live. I don’t recall leaving the town where I live, driving the interstate, or the sunrise that morning I leave for work about 5am. Its still dark. The thing that creeps me out the most is the fact that like I said where I was is well over 100 miles away from my house. What I would love to know is how I got there in about an hour and a half. It was just after 6:30 am. I would have to have driven through the state capital as well early morning going well over 70 or 80 mph, at least, plus retain 0 memory of it. That freaked me out so bad I called in and told them I wasn’t going to be there for health reasons and went to see my doctor. Told him that story. I'm fairly young and Alzheimer's doesn’t run in my family the doctor told me I literally somehow hypnotized myself basically. I brought up the incredible time I reached this destination, and the towns I would have had to drive through to get there. He told me to slow down...no help. That was about a year ago and it hasn’t happened since, but what really freaks me out was the fact that it happened during a minor UFO flap in the area. I even had relatives claim they saw weird sh*t in the sky. Who knows.”

Pentagon Gearing Up for Space Warfare

The Pentagon is preparing for war should China, Russia, or other adversaries attack vital American satellites and other space systems, a senior Pentagon official told Congress on Wednesday.

John Rood, undersecretary of defense for policy, testified before a House subcommittee that the Trump administration's new defense policy calls for conducting military and other operations in response to space attacks, mainly by China and Russia.

Rood said American space systems are essential for "our prosperity, security, and way of life."

"And [Defense Department] space capabilities are critical for effective deterrence, defense, and force projection capabilities," he told a hearing of the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces.

"Due to the critical importance of these assets, the national security strategy states, ‘any harmful interference with or attack upon critical components of our space architecture that directly affects this vital U.S. interest will be met with a deliberate response at a time, place, manner, and domain of our choosing.'" Phantom Hitchhiker Leaves Footprints

An Argentinian man has been making news headlines all over South America for experiencing a bizarre paranormal phenomenon. A hitchhiker he picked up from the side of the road allegedly disappeared from the front passenger seat of his truck, leaving behind only a burnt smell and melted shoe marks in the rubber car mats.

Pedro Peirone, from the town of San Jose de la Esquina, in Santa Fe, was driving home on February 26th, when he saw a young man hitchhiking on the side of the road. As he often did on his business trips around the province, Peirone pulled over and offered to give the boy a ride. Although the hitchhiker was a bit shy and reserved, Pedro says he seemed to be a regular teen the likes of which he often picked up. But while he can hardly remember the faces of most of the people he given rides to throughout the years, the memory of this particular boy will probably stay with him for the rest of his life.

Looking back on the events that transpired that day, Pedro Peirone wishes he had learned more about his mysterious passenger. All he was able to get out of him was that he came from the neighboring town of Arteaga and that he was 17-years-old. When asked if he was going all the way to San Jose de la Esquina, the boy said “no”, adding that he will let Peirone know where he’d like to get out.
