Beach Campsite Trashed by WEREWOLF-LIKE CRYPTID on Assateague Island, Maryland

A college girl and her roommate decided to take a break and go camping at Assateague Island, Maryland. After a long hike, they returned to find their campsite trashed, and a terrifying cryptid canine.

I received the following account:

"In 2009 I attended college at the University of Maryland/Eastern Shore. I always felt overwhelmed with studying and assignments and spent most of my time inside. My roommate and I decided to abandon our school work one weekend and have an adventure. We agreed to go to Assateague Island. It's a barrier island and a refuge for wildlife. I was most excited to check out the feral ponies I had heard about. There do not seem to be many places where you can see wild horses anymore.

So we decided to camp even though it was the off season and chilly. At least there were no crowds. We borrowed a bunch of gear from our hardcore camping friend and headed out. We stopped at the visitor center and the rangers told us where we would be likely to see the horses. They told us to make sure we put away all of our food items whenever we were away from the campsite. We showed them the bear proof cooler we had borrowed and they said that was fine.

We setup our camping spot and went to the recommended trail and when we were out there we caught sight of horses off in the distance. They told us to stay at least 40 feet away. We were happy to get a distant view of horses across an inlet. However, we were really excited when the herd stormed through the water and toured the area where we were standing. There must have been three different herds while we hiked that morning. We had binoculars to spot them in the distance and were satisfied with our sightings by noon. We had a cookout and relaxed on the beach.

I was ready for bed early and got into my sleeping bag after sunset with my book. I must have fallen asleep immediately. The next thing I knew I was woken up by something howling. Now I'm familiar with coyotes and wolves but this did not sound like that. It was higher and more shrill. It gave me goosebumps all over and I could feel it getting closer. I convinced myself it must be one of the island foxes so I just fell asleep again.

But then this horrible growl woke me up again. It was a low growl, guttural, and rumbling. I could hear something rustling outside the tent. It was probably half an hour before the noises stopped and I could sleep again.

The next day we decided to take the wildlife loop trail. It was maybe three miles long and gave good views of marsh and forest. We spent a long time exploring. By the time we decided to head back to camp we were both pretty tired and it was almost sunset. We came over the crest of a dunes and could see our tent a ways away. It looked like it was fluttering in the wind more than it should be. I could tell there was some stuff on the ground by the tent and I remember saying how weird that was. As we got closer we could see that the tent door was hanging unzipped and flapping around. The stuff on the ground was our gear, sleeping bags and clothes. We thought someone robbed us. We knew we hadn't left any food unsecured and it didn't seem like an animal's work because the zippers were just pulled down like a person would do.

Inside the tent there were muddy prints all over the ground cover and tarp. If I didn't know better I would have thought they were from a giant dog. Our bags had been opened and all contents had been removed and thrown around. All the food locked inside the cooler was missing and everything was covered in sand and mud. We were totally astonished, and then I noticed that growl I heard the night before. I was instantly terrified. I can't tell you how primal it sounds. My roommate and I rushed out and heard it coming towards us as it came from behind the trees. We both screamed when we saw this huge werewolf-like creature. It was obviously eating something and looked like a six or seven foot tall wolf but had a man's torso. It had a long snout and sharp fangs and when it howled it sounded like a human scream. It was facing sideways from us so I couldn't really see its eyes. However, its back was kind of hunched over and it had massive shoulders. It never looked at us. It finished what it ate and then turned away and disappeared into the trees. We were literally shaken from seeing that thing. We knew we had to leave.

We pulled everything out of the tent and shook it off as best we could. We threw everything in the trunk and raced out of there. We stopped at the ranger station but it was after hours and nobody was around. We didn't know what to do and went home.

I called them the next day to describe what we had seen. I have no idea if they took me seriously or if they thought we were just seeing things." A

Reader Shares His Family's REPTILIAN AGENDA Experiences

A reader writes to me about alleged Reptilian manipulation of his family members and the ordeals that he has experienced and witnessed over many years. What are your thoughts on this subject?

I received the following account:

"I truly believe that Reptilian aliens have been mind-controlling my father's mind since at least January 2014 and my sister's mind from an unknown date. Their apparent mission seems to have in part, focused on the use of human bodies to experience this dimension. I also believe that their forcible confinement of my mother has rendered her sick and disabled by this alien intrusion & manipulation. For the record, we live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

These regressive alien intruders appear to be supported by a network of human-looking operatives among the police and judiciary who have been mysteriously blocking my access to my disabled mother.

The alien intruders appear to be engaged in some kind of experiments against my mother for more than two years, and have relied on a network of operatives to reinforce their agenda.

This regressive alien activity may be part of other such activities against humans involving mind control and abduction which poses a vital threat to our human sovereignty including rights and freedoms on our planet Earth.

I want to refer you to an article you wrote several years ago. It was titled Camp Hero: Mind Control, Time Travel & Reptilians. I have witnessed and experienced much of what was referred to in your article. NOTE: I rarely get involved with Reptilian reports and conspiracy theories, even though I have been deeply involved with David Eckhart's ordeal over the past 15 years or so. FLOATING TRANSLUCENT HUMANOIDS Manifested in Experiencer's Bedroom

The experiencer encountered 3 floating translucent humanoids in her bedroom. She did not feel threatened, but felt as though they were constant observers of humans.

I received the following account:

"Hello. I'm reporting that these entities were in my home on November 15, 2016 in Peoria, Illinois. I awoke around 2:30 am to see 3 beings standing at my bedroom door. They are translucent, soft light emanating from their bodies. I sat up in my bed and stared intently.

My impression was of a mother with a child. She was tall and lean with olive-colored dark eyes. She had long arms and no clothing. I could not see any specific genital shapes. Her mouth was narrow with an oval-shaped face, no hair on her body. The child entity stood next to her mother holding her leg. The child was up to her hips. I felt this was a boy. Same appearance, but smaller and stout with arms and legs. The eyes were very large and looking at me as if this was its first time seeing a human being.

The third entity stood behind them. Same soft light emanating from the body. At this point, I could tell all 3 bodies were floating like a hologram. The third entity was different in that on top of its head were these antennas with olive-colored eyes. There must have been 8 or so of these attached to the head and looked like part of the scalp. I thought this being was a scout and the antennas were cameras.

I tried to get up out of bed and the beings turned their backs and floated down the hallway and disappeared. I thought OK, that was a strange experience.

Around 3 am the next evening. The being with the antenna on the head appeared standing in my hall near my coat closet and hanging onto the woodwork.

I looked up and waved my hand. It matched my hand wave and a slight smile like a Mona Lisa smile appeared on its face. I tried to get up and it disappeared.

I could only describe the movement of the beings as watching seaweed floating in the ocean. They were opaque but I could see through them. I remember feeling joy unlike any other. An overwhelming sense of love and wonderment. It was a marvelous experience. I wish to remain anonymous. My family would not believe me. I have told 2 close friends. Whether they believe or not I do not care. I felt like sharing.

I believe these beings walk among us at this moment. Observing us. Maybe they are here to help or just waiting to pick up the pieces after we are departed.

Huge UPRIGHT DOGMAN / LOBO Encountered by U.S. Border Agents

A newly hired U.S. Border Agent and his training officer have a harrowing encounter with a huge upright canine while patrolling near the Arizona-California-Mexico border intersection.

"This story was shared to me probably a little over a year ago by a U.S. Border Control agent who obviously wanted to remain anonymous. Some of the stories he shared with me about working on the southern border were interesting, including some Bigfoot type encounters. But the first incident that he experienced was with a Dogman. This occurred when he was still training for his job. It really shook him because he had never seen anything like it before.

So, he drove around with a senior co-worker, a field training officer. They were in their Ford truck driving around, showing him the checkpoints and hotspots where they usually find people illegally crossing the border. I believe he said he was working 10 or 12 hour shifts. This was at the Arizona-California border where it intersects with the Mexico border.

One night, while he was still fairly new, he actually had a cold and wasn't feeling very well. They were traveling on a dirt road which was part of their normal routine. They didn't see any signs of people which they thought was a little odd because he says he always sees trash, water bottles, or clothes or something out there. They got to the turnaround and flipped on their spotlights. They didn't really see anything and as they're turning around the headlights and the spotlights illuminated something in the distance. His training officer looked over and said, 'Oh,that's probably just a wild animal. We should we go take a look.' They get closer and I guess at this point the terrain got kind of rough. He slowly drove forward.

While observing this 'animal' they could tell that it had dark black fur, but weren't sure what they were looking at. 'Maybe we should just leave it alone?' He was really urging the training officer that they should get out there. His response was, 'No. We need to go check it out.' Then it clicked with the training officer  that something wasn't right. It looked like a bear hunched over while eating something. They got within 30 yards of it, a good distance but still close enough that they could see what was going on.

At this point they flipped on another set of bright lights from the light bar on the cab roof. This creature lit up, then it stood up. He thought it was a giant man with a fur coat. But as it turned around he noticed that it had this dog's head, like a wolf's head. It was all black and you could see the eyes. The eye shine was reflecting an amber tint. It was very muscular and had broad shoulders. It was way too huge to be a dog or wolf. Then it stood up on its back legs. He immediately stopped the truck as they watched this upright canine looking at them. After several second, this 'Dogman' eventually took a step towards them. Then it took another step and it was closing distance. It wasn't walking fast but its strides were so huge and it was getting closer and closer.

He threw the truck into reverse. The Dogman opened its mouth a little bit and hunched over, like it was sizing up prey. He quickly turned the truck around and drove away from the creature. He looks in the rearview mirror. He could still see the dogman illuminated by the red rear lights. He said he had never seen anything like that. It scared the crap out of him.

They directly drove back to the station. His training officer said that it was just big dog, but don't talk about it with anyone. They didn't mention it in their nightly report.

Occasionally, you'll pick up migrants that will talk about the Lobos or the big hairy man and other strange stuff in the desert."

8-Foot-Tall OWL-FACED, SLOTH-SHAPED CREATURE Encountered in Washington Wilderness

A Washington resident interested in Sasquatch was in the wilderness observing whatever he could. He then came across an 8-foot-tall owl-like, sloth-shaped creature staring at him.

I received the following account:

"I can’t tell you what I saw that day but I can describe it. I lived in Skykomish, Washington for a couple years and was curious about Sasquatch. I’ve had a couple of experiences but this was different.

I was out for a walk with my dog one afternoon in the summer of 2018 and turned to see something watching us from behind an embankment. It looked like a tree stump. I stopped and stared at this thing for 30 seconds. It had owl-faced features, but it was huge. The head of it was sticking up from behind this embankment, and it was the size of an old growth tree stump. I was close to this thing about 20 feet away.

I could see its eyes were closed but squinting to observe me. It almost seemed sloth-like. It had designs that were a cross between bark lines and owl pattern marks. I felt no fear at all. I was staring at it and said, "What the hell is that?" My dog didn’t notice it. After a bit I looked down and stepped forward without feeling threatened. When I looked back up it was missing. I stood there for a minute, then got spooked and went home.

I walked back to that spot and stood there every day looking for whatever it might’ve been I saw that day. I walked behind the embankment one time and sized it up to be about 6 feet tall so whatever I saw was about 7 1/2-8 feet tall I estimate.

There are lots of super eerie calls in the area. A lot of Sasquatch. I believe there are other undocumented creatures as well. I have some photos of odd things but did not have my camera on me that particular day." M

Car Suddenly Appears, Then Vanishes, in San Bernardino Mountains!

A couple are in the mountains in San Bernardino County, CA collecting plants and herbs. A red sports car suddenly areas. A man gets out honking the horn. Then the man and the car totally vanish!

“I want to share a weird experience my husband and I had. It happened about a year and a half ago. San Bernardino County has a place we visit, in the mountains. We gather medicine, or we gather some things for homeo purposes.

On the road where we intend to do this, the layout of the land is significant so let me explain it to you briefly. It's a wide open road and a dead end on one side. You can see in either direction from the hill. You take a dirt road to a T-shaped. We walk up this dirt path, up the hill, to where we need to collect the stuff.

We were up there picking stuff and my husband and the dog were on one side and I was on the other side. So, my bag becomes full. I proceed down the dirt road, to where our van is parked on the main street. And just before I get there, mind you, you can see in either direction.

A car appears out of nowhere, right behind our van and it's a red car. There are no distinguishing logos or anything. I've never seen a car like it but it's rather sporty looking. As a result, the car appears out of nowhere, spins around, and circles around the van. I get nervous.

I walk up the hill with my husband. He comes back down to me and this man gets out of the car and honks, honks, honks, and he starts walking up the hill. I got a very odd feeling. It was really odd. My husband and I go back down the hill towards the van and he disappears. Gone! Both of us were right there. The car, the man, everything, gone! There was nothing. In front of our eyes. My husband was there too.” K

Curious TIME SLIP Experience Reported in Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio

An Ohio man and his friend are hiking in Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio when they experience a possible time slip. Hocking Hills is well-known for a variety of unusual occurrences.

The following account was forwarded to me by my friends  Cam & Kyle at Expanded Perspectives:

"I'm 31 years old and from central Pennsylvania. But this story takes place back in September of 2008 when I lived in Ohio. At that time my best friend Ciera and I went to a state park named Hocking Hills in for a day retreat from our busy lives. We had decided on this at random when we first got together early in the morning just after sunrise; it was a nice warm late summer day and we'd just got the wild notion to go for a drive to Hocking Hills since the area is well known for its several walking trails, a cave or two, and several waterfalls and running water/creek areas. The day was very warm maybe roughly 70 degrees Fahrenheit / 21 degrees Celsius so we had worn shorts and short-sleeved T-shirts.

We started down a trail at random and found that part of the trail had been washed out so we had to take another path which according to our phone’s GPS tool would force us to cross a small country road. As we played with our mobile phones and noted it was roughly 12:00 noon EST we happened to be passed by a group of seemingly odd backpackers before we reached the road and one of the people gripped my shoulder and turned me around to warn us to be aware of a wash out up ahead if we were going to take the trail into the woods instead the person who stopped us let go of my shoulder and recommended we follow the trail nearby which would go next to the forest fire lookout tower instead as it by-passed a small clump of downed brush.

As we crossed the road to the tower trail we noticed there was caution tape all over the fire tower, there was a pungent smell in the air which we could not identify, the windows on top of the tower appeared to be taped up, grimy, and there were flies all over the area. We walked past it, commenting on how odd it was, and continued down the trail we had been recommending to take, but it was one neither of us had noticed before on a previous walk to the area. This trail took us past the fire tower and then cut into the woodlands; as we walked into the forest maybe 1500 feet / 457 meters or so we took notice that no one seemed to be around and in fact not only did we feel isolated from others but we felt very chilled without explanation. Ciera pointed it out verbally while I was thinking it, but we just continued walking. Eventually, the air started to get noticeably chillier and damper. This did not seem unusual at first but as we continued to walk the air seemed to go from warm to what felt like the mid-50s Fahrenheit / 10’s Celsius and we started to shiver.

It was also getting darker as we continued forward; at first, I thought it was just due to the green leaves on the trees and maybe a passing cloud overhead but the darkness really did not improve as one expected. As we walked we looked around and there was nothing but trees on all sides, there should have been a forest edge somewhere as the area wasn't really that big but aside from some hills and tall pine trees there wasn't a real 'ending' to the woods like we expected as the area tends to be narrow and normally you can see the edges. My friend took out her phone to use her GPS because she instinctively felt lost but her battery was nearly gone, I took mine out of my back pocket and it had no signal, the battery was also near dead, and showed "EE: EE" for the time (meaning it couldn't update as it was an older style flip-phone with a camera and when set to auto-adjust would contact the mobile phone network every 15 min).

It was only then as the light grew dimmer that I noticed the area seemed very silent, our footsteps, the leaves we stepped on, grass, twigs, and our breathing just echoed. Ciera got spooked and I did too, she mentioned it was very out of the ordinary and I agreed but I couldn't shake this sense of foreboding that something was amiss. I tried to rationalize it but I really, honestly, couldn't figure any of it out at all.

We just pressed onwards and after going down a small hill and back up it seemed to have gotten a lot darker. The world seemed to have gone from just shadowy to near-twilight darkness. My friend grabbed my arm and started freaking out about how weird it got - then the air seemed to have gone still and we had a feeling of something wrong. We both took off running looking for an exit, for some odd reason we never thought to turn around at all and just got back the way we came. It never seemed to occur to us as we ran but the spookiness continued as we could hear our steps echo off the area as things just felt like they grew more gloomy.

Then ahead of us down another small dip in the trail, we could see two large honeysuckle bushes on either side of the trail like a gate. We made a mad dash (mostly with her pulling me) for these bushes and just as we pushed through the plants something odd happened - we were overwhelmed by a change in our surroundings as light, sound, and warmth returned all at once. It was like stepping outside of a cold, empty, and dark building onto a warm busy street. We stood at the edge of a place known as Ash Cave which has a large waterfall not too far away with a U-shaped cliff. I turned around to look back from where we emerged and while the bushes were the same the area was so different, brighter, not silent for sure, and warm. In fact, our skin was cold to touch which just reinforced the facts. We took out our phones and the time had finally updated, it was now 4 pm. The normal trail would only have taken an hour to walk fully so it was a loss of three full hours!

Logic attempted to set in and we decided the trail we came up with must have just appeared creepy because there may have been clouds overhead or a storm blew by but when we went back between the bushes there was no trail. Nothing looked like it had a few seconds ago. Ciera walked around the bushes twice and it was the same bright sunny day with no darkness and no trail. We waited, it was blue sky overhead and we could see the edges of the forest and other people. The trail had simply vanished as if we had never walked it.

On returning to the normal trail with the wash out we ended up locating an off shoot path which took us back past the fire tower. It was here we noticed it was normal looking as the windows were not taped and very clean, and there was no pungent smell. We don't know what it was, but it certainly was creepy. Of course, I jokingly told her later that day over dinner we had entered the faerie realms by mistake and were lucky to get away, she didn't find that funny of course but either way we both felt we should share this with you and if anyone out there has had a similar experience perhaps they can provide insight or share their own." BLACK-EYED, BABOON-LIKE CREATURE Startles Northern Minnesota Resident

A northern Minnesota resident reported an unknown Great Dane sized baboon-like creature with large pitch black eyes watching her from a lot near her property. What was it?

I received the following account:

“On the evening of July 11, 2023, I walked outside my house to investigate why my neighbor's dog was wildly barking. I live in a small town in northern Minnesota. I went through the door at the side of my house that is also connected to the garage.

Anyways, while I was standing by the side of my house wondering what the dog was barking at, I looked to my right (where there was an small empty lot full of grass and bushes) and I saw something about the size of a Great Dane with large pitch black eyes looking at me. It was light brown, had long fur, and was standing in the grass about 30 yards from me. I think it’s face was like a monkey? Actually, it reminded me of a baboon, but there's no way that is what it was. Anyways, I’m almost 100% sure it wasn’t a dog, cat or anything else!

I screamed so loud that my neighbors ran out and started to look for whatever it was. My neighbors grabbed his rifle and walked into the lot. After several minutes he returned and said that whatever it was growled at him, but it was hidden in the bushes. He said the growl was unlike anything that he had ever heard before. He is a hunter and is very familiar with the local wildlife. Whatever it was could be heard running off. I called the local police and reported the sighting.

Has anyone else reported anything like this? I need answers! I'm fearful that it may come back.” PL

'COSMIC RAY' Take Us To The 'Interplanetary House of Pancakes' (IHOP)

Usually, Earthlings go to the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) when they are looking for a good breakfast, at any time of the day.  Just ask an interstate trucker, if you still harbor any doubts about this.  But where do you Venusians or other extraterrestrials go when they are cavorting through outer space in their flying saucers and suddenly come down with the munchies?  In search for answers about this crucial question plaguing the ufology community, I searched through my extensive files and found an interesting account dating back to Tuesday, 18 April 1961.

On that momentous day, a little before 11 a.m., farmer Joe Simonton, who also served as the small town of Eagle River, Wisconsin’s auctioneer and plumber, had even sighted a flying saucer and its occupant, he heard what he described as a “terrible swirling noise” above his home.  “At first,” he said, “I thought the whole house was going to blow away.  Then I walked over to the window and saw this saucer come straight down, vertically.  I ran out very quick then.”

Suddenly a flying saucer came down in the backyard of his farmhouse.  Joe Simonton, standing all amazed and watching the UFO from his kitchen window come in for a landing, explained that, “The hatch opened underneath the saucer and a man in a black suit got out.  He had this water jug and he gestured to me to give him some water, so I did.”

Filing the Initial Reports

Simonton did not immediately report this incident, however, as he was not sure how most of the local folks would take it.  But two days after the incident, he did get around to revealing the full story to Vilas County, Wisconsin, Judge Frank Carter, whom he understood had long expressed an interest in the subject of “flying saucers” and “life on other planets.”  Carter encouraged the local farmer to make additional reports to the District Attorney Calvin Burton and to the Sheriff John Schroeder, assuring Simonton that these gentlemen also kept an open mind on the subject of UFOs and possible alien connections with them; thus, the experiencer followed through with the judge’s advice.  

Continuing with his account of his first contact with the five-foot extraterrestrial in the black suit with the water jug who disembarked from the flying saucer, Simonton reported: 

“Once I was outside, I took the jug from the alien visitor and ran over to a pump to fill it up with water.  When I went to return the now water-filled jug to the spaceman, I got a look inside the saucer and saw some other men.  One of the men in the ship was frying food on a flameless grill of some sort.  I motioned to indicate an interest in their food by pointing to some pancakes over by the grill, situated next to an instrument panel; and the man at the grill, also dressed in black but with a narrow red trim along his trousers, while still remaining silent, handed me three small pancakes.  None of the men aboard the saucer said anything to me.”

“When I went over to get a look inside and saw the other men, they didn’t say anything to me; but I pointed to the pancakes by the instrument panel and they gave me a few.

“Then the first man got inside and the saucer rose slowly to a height of about fifteen feet; but in a matter of seconds, it zipped off at a 45-degree angle, moving so far away in a southernly direction, that I could no longer even see it.  In taking off, it made such a ‘whoosh’ that the nearby pine trees were bowled over.”

Wisconsin farmer Joe Simonton thinks he can help his extraterrestrial friends make better pancakes, more round and less burnt.  Samples from his pancake stack went to the Air Force and a civilian UFO group for detailed analysis.

Flying Saucer Description

Joe Simonton described the flying saucer as a “gleaming silver, brighter-than-chrome machine that appeared to hover over the ground instead of landing.  I estimated that it was about twelve feet from top to bottom and about thirty feet in diameter.  I noted exhaust pipes six or seven inches in diameter running along the edge of the saucer.”  The farmer thought that perhaps these pipes were used in venting the grill and its heat.

The saucer’s interior was black, approximating the color of wrought iron.  The farmer noted that, “From the interior of the craft came a slow, whining sound like the hum of a generator.  The hatch through which I peered into the ship was about five feet off the ground; and when the craft lifted off, the large hatch snapped shut and was machined so smoothly I could scarcely detect where the hatch was after it closed.”

Flying Saucer Occupants

Simonton said that throughout his brief encounter he was aware of three occupants aboard the flying saucer, all seemingly males dressed in black, two-piece suits.  He estimated that all of them were about five feet tall and weighing approximately 125 pounds each.  All of the men had the appearance of being dark-skinned Hispanics. Of the cakes handed to the farmer by one of the occupants, Simonton was of the opinion that they tasted like regular pancakes, although a bit charred around the edges.

Both Air Force and Civilian Ufology Involvement

A portion of these slightly burnt pancakes was saved by Simonton for Air Force Project Bluebook investigators, who were dispatched to his Wisconsin farm.  The investigators told the farmer that they would pass on the pancake samples to their staff chemists back at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where Project Bluebook was located.  An entire pancake was also sent to the headquarters of the then largest civilian UFO investigations group, the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), in Washington, D.C.  

The pancakes were the only evidence that Simonton had for the visit of the extraterrestrials.  After his encounter, he called the local sheriff from the kitchen telephone in his farmhouse, who sent out two deputies to the scene of the saucer landing.  As they found nothing out of place anywhere on the farm, and no physical evidence for the landing of a flying saucer, they just went hack to the station and did not even file a report, thinking they would save the farmer a lot of embarrassment.  

Simonton also called the nearest military facility, the Air Force radar center at Traux Field in Madison, Wisconsin, who took his report on an official form that eventually made its way to the Aerospace Technical Intelligence Center in Dayton and later to Dr. J. Allen Hynek, chair of the Astronomy Department at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago, who served as the scientific consultant for Project Bluebook. Hynek later verified that the Traux radar center picked up nothing unusual at or around the time of Simonton’s encounter.

Hynek later told Paul Foght, a correspondent for Fate magazine (Evanston, Illinois, August 1961), that, “Naturally, I was disappointed that Mr. Simonton was not able to take a photo of his visitors and their ship.  In my twelve years of investigating UFOs and flying saucer contacts for the Air Force, I have never located a photo which could be identified beyond any doubt as a flying machine or mass of unknown origin.

“I do feel, however, that Joe Simonton’s Eagle River visitors present a good example of a saucer contact case; and consequently, as a result of my recommendation, a complete investigation was begun- even though the Air Force normally does not conduct extensive inquiries of reported sightings or contacts where only one witness was involved.”

Hynek felt sure that Simonton’s experience was real.  The farmer’s neighbors assured the Northwestern scientist that they knew Joe Simonton to be a “sober and sensible person.” Up to the time of the report, Simonton lived in Eagle River for 30 years, served as the Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus each Christmas, and was highly esteemed by all local authorities.  Sheriff Schroeder remarked that, “Joe really believes everything he says; and he isn’t a drinking man. He talks sensibly.”

County Judge Carter held a similarly high estimation of Simonton, declaring, “I am convinced that Joe actually saw the ‘saucernauts’ because I am unable to think of any way in which this man could profit if the story was a hoax.”

As a result of the Wisconsin farmer’s good standing, his UFO report was thoroughly checked out by Dr. Hynek, Air Force Major Robert Friend, and an unnamed officer from the K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, Michigan.

Hynek, however, feared that Simonton might become the subject of ridicule from some quarters.  “Speaking for myself and the other Air Force investigators in this case,” said the Illinois astronomer, “we are delighted that Mr. Simonton has come forth with his account.  The Air Force hopes that other qualified and competent witnesses will, like Mr. Simonton, not be discouraged from making reports of flying saucer sightings to Project Bluebook, where such information regarding the UFO phenomenon will be properly processed through our clearing house at the Aerospace Technical Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.”

Other UFO Reports in the Eagle River Area

In the process of their investigation, Hynek and the other Air Force investigators discovered that there were four other independent reports of UFOs in the Eagle River area.  Savino Borgo, an Eagle River insurance agent, sighted a flying saucer on Wisconsin State Highway 70 about one mile from Simonton’s farm at around the same time that Simonton alleged that the alien spacecraft came down on his farm.  Additionally, Gibb Sanborn, the manager of the Wisconsin State Employment Service at Eagle River and Jack Long, a Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, merchant, said they also sighted flying saucers in the days previous to Simonton’s report.  There was also a UFO report from five Rhinelander, Wisconsin, residents that attracted the interest of the Air Force investigators.

The details of this UFO report were published in correspondent Foght’s previously referenced Fate magazine article:

“At 6:45 p.m., on 27 April 1961, Brent Lorbetski, 20, and Tim Hunt, 17, were in an automobile near the Lorbetski home in Sugar Camp Township near Rhinelander.

“The young men spotted a high-flying, silver-colored, circular object.  The object was passing overhead at considerable altitude and at high speed; but was making no noise.

“The youth called to the other members of the Lorbetski’s family who came outside in time to see the object.  The family then reported the sighting to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.  Brent Lorbetski’s father, who was not home at the time of the sighting, is chairman of the town of Sugar Camp.  Inquiries to local authorities indicate the witnesses have excellent reputations for reliability and veracity.

Secrecy and Fumbling

The Air Force, sadly, never released its findings to the public concerning the extraterrestrial pancakes from the chuckwagon IHOP saucer.

As for the civilian UFO group, NICAP, that also received extraterrestrial pancake samples, they totally dropped the ball with their investigation, or lack of investigation, in letting the sample get ruined.  Unlike Dr. Hynek and the Air Force personnel investigating this case, Richard Hall, a spokesman for NICAP, upon receiving word of Mr. Simonton’s sighting and a sample of the alien food product, immediately announced that, “NICAP is highly skeptical of Joe’s story.  Our investigating committee might analyze one of Joe’s cakes which was sent to us by the Eagle River judge; and will probably conduct a routine investigation.”  NICAP’s Hall was totally oblivious to Joe Simonton’s outstanding community standing and credibility, and completely ignored the multiple sightings in the Eagle River and Rhinelander area with a circumference of 20 miles.

Unlike the competing civilian UFO investigating group, Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO) in Arizona, NICAP was noted for its refusal to consider that any UFOs might be landing or occupants sighted or encountered by human beings.  In the estimation of the NICAP director, Donald E. Keyhoe, a retired Marine Corps aviation major, the UFOs were simply conducting an aerial surveillance of our planet and our military capabilities, preparatory to an invasion.

Coral and Jim Lorenzen, the co-directors of APRO and also originally from Wisconsin, like Mr. Simonton, were of the more open-minded opinion that if the extraterrestrials wanted to conquer the Earth, they would have done it a long time ago.  The flying saucer occupants, being scientifically advanced and curious, would certainly want to meet humans from all walks of life, especially after they travelled the vast distances between worlds and maybe solar systems, to get here.

'HAIRY MAN' Attacks & Kills Blackfoot Nation Father

An account about a 'hairy man' attacking a native man on the Blackfoot reservation of western Montana is recounted by a resident. The horrible incident was told to him by his father.

The following account was forwarded to me:

"I live in western Montana and live on a reservation known as the Blackfoot Nation. My father is a tribal member and my mother is not, I am therefore a white descendant and have grown up experiencing both sides of the culture. Both whites and Indians have stories that they rarely tell.

When my father was born he was 'conscious.' This is something he would never tell a stranger but I am telling you what he told me. He remembers being in a waiting room before birth and surrounded by thousands of babies. Some were deformed, and some were sickly. There were Black, Asian, and other races and one of them was covered in hair. It's impossible for me to explain this part better than he could but basically he saw the waiting room for souls. He was one of the few who were led through. I am only sharing this detail because as a child I had dreams about the 'Hearing Man' and his family before I was ever exposed to the concept of Bigfoot.

These dreams were frightening and unexplained and only made sense years later when my father related this to me. In my opinion the hairy man is somehow related to this area in a big way. My ancestors, having been the first to settle this area, have had extensive experiences with a hairy man. Sasquatch may be a part of my genetic memory as well as my father's and our grandfathers. My father was born with precognition of the hairy man.

As a small boy he was playing in the living room with many brothers when one of them burst through the door screaming and crying for my grandmother to come out and make him go away. This was the first time the hairy man had appeared in my father's life. My uncle, also a child at the time, had seen a Sasquatch in this small garden out back which is next to a small creek. The Sasquatch was stealing vegetables and ran off after being seen. Nobody spoke of this event afterwards. Sasquatch was taken for granted back then.

As the years went by my father reached his early 20s and stories had been popping up around the reservation about a wild man breaking into houses and scaring children at night.  The wild man was said to be very large and smelly. One family in particular started to be visited by the hairy man almost every night. They would come home and see the door left open, their food taken, and the animals cowering under the table. This routine was so familiar that they treated it as a common occurrence, like the family ghost as my father put it.

Everyone started to lock their doors at night. Dogs were acting cowardly for no apparent reason. The wild man was having his way. He was getting bold. He started to break into houses during the middle of the day. Children would see him. The tribal police were called and meetings were held. The town was becoming more and more shaken up by the presence of this unknown intruder. This was when something incredible happened to the particular family who was favored by the hairy man.

One night, while standing on the porch, the father was yanked off by his feet in full view of the entire family. They screamed and huddled together and cried. Well, whatever it was, fought with the father on the porch. The sounds of fighting and screaming was traumatic for the kids. They are now grown up like myself and I wonder to this day how much this affected their lives. 

The father was gone for days. Whatever it was that had taken him had carried him off into the night after the struggle on the porch. There was blood on the grass and the family grabbed neighbors and other men of the community to help recover the father. The men got together and followed the signs and trails left by whatever it was. There were drops of blood and signs of something very large passing through. They followed this trail all the way to the very creek where my uncle had spotted a Sasquatch when he was a boy. They followed the creek all night.

When the men returned the next day they didn't speak a word. A whole group of grown men and not one of them was willing to speak about what happened. They had however found the father and recovered him. He was beaten black and blue over his entire body. He had broken arms and legs. The father was in shock and incoherent. He couldn't speak a word. One of my uncles had gone to see the man and his family in the hospital. There was a fair amount of good will being shown to the family that went through this horrible experience. Nobody knew what happened, only that the father was close to death and that the family was very shaken up. My uncle stopped by to pay his respects and saw for himself the father lying in the hospital. His eyes were bulging wide. He was trembling constantly. This man had been beaten badly.

He died that night and to this day nobody knows what grabbed him or what happened to him. To this day the men who went on the recovery mission to save him have kept their stories to themselves. Only a select circle, including my father, remembers these incidents. All that I was told was that those men found what it was that took the father. They found the 'Hearing Man' and they killed it with high power rifles and buried the body. The men who did this feel incredibly guilty.

The older generation told us to avoid the Sasquatch and leave them alone because they are human beings. They are not animals and they are not magic. But they can most certainly be monsters and this is one story that corroborates that." LM
