Which Cast is Better Contest
Citizens of the blog-o-sphere, I need you to help me settle something. You see, my husband thinks he could cast a movie version of Color Blind better than me, so we decided to choose who we'd want to play Color Blind's characters if ever the book was turned into a movie. Even after we'd both lined up our casts and mine was clearly superior, he still insists he has it more right than me. So, we decided to put it out there and let you decide.
The graphic below shows both casts: one is mine, and the other is my dear, sweet (wrong) husband’s. We're keeping whose cast is whose a secret until the votes are in (and if you happen to know who either of the casts belongs to, please keep it on the down low!). But we need your help!
We want you to vote for which cast—red or blue—you think would best portray the characters in Color Blind if the book were turned into a movie. You can vote by leaving "red cast" or "blue cast" in the comments along with anything else you have to say about the cast lists or ideas you have for different ones. Your vote will only be counted once, so please, only one vote per person.
The graphic with the two casts will be posted in various places online where voting will continue for the next 7 days until April 7—Double Vision’s release date! On that date, I’ll be celebrating Double Vision’s release by announcing here, on Facebook, and on Twitter which cast got the most votes—and whether my husband or me got to do a victory dance. In addition to declaring what I am sure will be my epic triumph, I'll also thank you for helping us duke this one out by drawing a winner for a special release day surprise from the names of the people who voted for the winning cast.
So take a good, hard look at the contenders, then vote RED CAST or BLUE CAST in the comments. And don’t forget to stop by the blog on or after April 7 to find out which cast won (and whether or not you won the special release day surprise)!
In the meantime, if you have your own ideas about who you’d hope to see as your favorite Color Blind characters if the book were made into a movie, feel free to create your own Color Blind Dream Cast board on Pinterest and tweet it at me or point me in its direction in the comments here. Who knows? If enough folks have Color Blind dream casts of their own, maybe I’ll pick a second winner April 7—my favorite Fan-Cast Color Blind Dream Cast!
So, this is it. The moment of truth. Which Cast do you think would be better?

Books and the Beach
It started storming at the beach on my oh-so-needed vacation, but it turns out, this is not a bad thing! I've gotten a chance to write some new words on the newest book and have had the chance to do some reading of my own (Tami Hoag's new The 9th Girl- check it out!). I've also been privy to some interesting "stuck in the condo" conversations. Things that have been discussed include:
*The origins of Ring around the Rosie
*Why The Halloween that Almost Wasn't was the greatest movie of all time
*what it would be like to have a pet alligator
*vomiting on someone is a show of love
Yep, you could say it's been a "different" afternoon!
