Calling all Dragon Heart fans!!!

Yesterday morning i revealed something on my Facebook page, and i thought i should give you the full scoop here, live and exclusive. (Now i sound like a journalist).

I recently got Hunger's cover done and because it was so amazing, i have decided to get Crave and The Dragon Heart Keeper redesigned to look more like Hunger.

Seeing as i already have the cover for Hunger, i have decided that HUNGER will be released in May 2015.

That means THE AQUA LIE and THE GARDEN OF FATE will be pushed back to July and September 2015.

This may change, but that is my plan for the moment.

Hi I’m Mel aka Melina Turner, I’m an international award-winning poet and live in Australia in a little town called Gympie. I began my writing at an extremely young age starting in primary school in year 3 when I heard about Write4Fun, a school international writing competition. My first piece was called “Wild Brumbies” published in 2003 when I was in year 3. I soon after moved from Nambour to Gympie an hour away, where I was influenced by an amazing English teacher to continue writing. In 2005 when I was in year 5 I was awarded “honoured writer” for my poetry in which I continued and still do. In 2013 I was awarded, “Best Poet of 2012” and put into a poetry book that is now in the library of Congress.After I began poetry I soon wanted to branch out thus starting “The Deathly-Roses Volume 1” a flash fiction narrative-prose piece, original and first of its kind, to be published 2014. I then gapped it out and wrote Volume 2 in 2007 to be published also in 2014; the third to be written in 2014 and published 2015. My goal with these books (TDR Volumes) was to make it short and poetic-like to gain non-readers interest and I believe I have done that.As of 2012, I slowly branched out and started helping co-author for an independent film company called Timothy Mitchell Films, helping with scripts for movies.As of now I am beginning to write my first finished novel ever. What do i price my book? - A Marketing Tip by L.L. Hunter

This is a very common question in the indie publishing world, but it's a very important one.
Pricing is one of the most important factors about selling a product, and if you get this right then you can be quite successful.
There aren't really any rules about pricing. You can price your book anything you want. But if you price your book at $9.99 (I'm talking ebooks here), and everyone else is pricing their's at $3.99, it really doesn't take a genius to figure out which book people are going to lean towards.This is different in the traditional publishing world, (most ebooks are around the $7-$12 mark in the traditional world) so for arguements sake, i am going to base this post around Indie/ self publishing.
So what is the best price for a new self published author?
Rule 1: Watch the market. Watch authors in your genre and see what they are pricing their books, and then figure out which price range each genre sells best at.
This is the general guideline i stick to:
*99 cents for SALES and the first book in a new series.
*$2.99 for novellas. (anything over 100 pages. **Not the general rule. Its MY general rule and what i have found works best**)
*$3.99 for novels.
*$4.99 - I have noticed some people have been pricing their book at $4.99 now. I think this works best for a boxed set or the 3rd book/ last book in a full length series.
Out of all these prices i think $3.99 sells the best.
I think this is because the store and the author get a bigger share of the royalty, it helps your book show up in best seller lists, and it shows that you the author believe in your work.
The number 1 thing you should get in your head and say it over and over when you doubt yourself is: 1: Believe in yourself and your work. If you don't, who else will? 2: Don't be afraid to price your book high. 
At the end of the day, you have a business to run and you won't make any money if you only price your book at 1 or 2 bucks.
Why are some books free?
Free promotions are another handy marketing tactic to get right. Again, it is all about researching and playing with the market.
I have been given exclusive marketing advice from the CEO of Smashwords, Mark Coker himself. I asked him how i could boost my sales. He told me this:
Make the first book in one or two of your series free.
At the time i was umming and ahhing about the prospect of this, but my sales sucked so i gave it a go.
Did it work?
Literally within the space of 3 or 4 days i had sold over 10, 000 copies, reached the top 100 on iBooks AU and Amazon US. This has resulted in the rest of my books selling again.The result has been mindblowing, and this is because i took the risk of making a few of my books free.
At 99 cents each, they were hardly selling anything. (forget the John Locke rule. This rule probably doesn't work for him anymore. The market is so saturated.) This is such a small sacrifice in the big scheme of things. It was so worth it!

He leaned forward, closing the distance. He didn’t make a sound, though myheart was pounding hard and loud enough for the both of us. His handoutstretched, soft cold fingers ready to take a hold of my cheek, to touch me,keep me still, as he finished his kiss. The distance between us vanished. Hewasn’t a spirit; I wasn’t human. He didn’t act fourteen, and I didn’t lookfifteen. We were just beings falling hopelessly in love with each other,everything was perfect. But his fingers fell through my skin, and in anagonised surprise Evan’s smile instantly dropped. Oh, but there is still adifference… My smile was sad for just a moment.
“Its okay, Lock.”
“Call me Evan.”
With two hands he leaned in and made another attempt to cup my face. Adark spiral, soft and thin like a broken cloud, looped around us. Evan startedto change colour swiftly and I instantly threw my hand up to stop him.
“I know I was the one who forced you into doing the Forbidden Act andturning yourself into a human, but you’re stronger as a ghost so I don’t…”
“I’m not doing this for you.”
He continued to lean in, slowly, just as the smoke engulfed the attic. Hisfingers tingled at the touch of me; his body filling out into solid build as hislips, still ghostly, planted onto mine and pressed in with his gradualtransformation. The wind of his breath sat on the nape of my neck, his head craning in,lingering his warm mouth at the tip of my ears. “Promise to never forgetme?”

My Review
My Demonic Ghost is a well written paranormal tale by the incredibly talented Jacinta Maree. I just love this woman's mind. She has created an amazing world filled with likeable, not so likeable and unforgettable characters. I especially love the descriptions of the Sins. Can't wait to read more from this talented author.

Movement stirred the mist that surrounded us. A soft ripple tore through the fog, followed closely by a moving darkness that crawled acrossthe space. There was an awful cracking of breaking bones as the blackness came to a stop in front of us. Building itself up from the shadows, the creature pulled and fought against the murkiness that had carried it forward. A head of black long hair sprouted out, attached to a slender neck that curved into the torso of a snake-scaled woman. Her waist opened like a spoon, legs replaced with the long, thick tail of an eel that looped around the base of its body. The woman’s face was covered completely by undulating black hair that slowly dripped from her face and fell to the ground. From her sides grew long, thin limbs; seven arms that stretched out behind her and towered over us like spears. Each hand held a dark wooden mask; seven arms for seven masks. The creature purred in a series of clicks. “Jordon, this is Mother. She is the gatekeeper to the temptations, the doorway to the Sins.” Mother clicked at us in her distorted rumble, her voice lost behind the folds of seeping black goo. At her appearance, Raix crept out of the darkness as well. He looked up at the serpent woman, intrigued by her, before whimpering behind me. “Nice of you to finally show up,” I griped and Raix snorted in reply. Elliot motioned to First who stepped up and spat the spirit out at Mother’s tail. The shadowghost rolled onto his back, breathless and scared out of his wits. Before he even had the chance to run, Mother’s tail lashed out and coiled around his torso, securing him. She sniffed the air around the spirit, passing judgement on him before one of her arms shifted down, bringing a mask to her face. With a snap, the mask was slapped over the planes of her cheekbones and swallowed into the black soup of her hair. The Banished ghost was inhaled through a line of smoke into the mouth and eyes of the mask before he completely  disappeared. Mother let her tail unfold before she moved her hand back to the mask, prying it off her skin. “You send Banished spirits here, to Mother.” “Where did she take him?” I asked. “To be destroyed. They are sent here to be broken down, and once they are nothing but waste they are returned to the Spirit World to be recreated into something new.” “You recycle them?” “Sometimes. Sometimes they are stored for power.” “Why seven masks?” “Seven masks to fit the seven Sins: Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth, Vanity, and Envy. Each Banished is marked with the taint of a Sin, which makes them stand out from the rest of the spirits. But they are strong as well; you can’t take on a Banished alone, especially if it’s attached to a human Host. Using the person’s soul, it can conjure up black magic and defeat you; it’s only when Hunters are around that Banished become weakened. You need to break the chains. No Host means no power. Still, best to get backup when you come across them. Just remember, Banished come to Mother. Other spirits go to the Drop Off.” “Got it. Banished are to be destroyed. Don’t worry; I won’t let it loose next time.” “Good.” Now finished with the spirit, Mother broke apart in the same manner that she’d been built, her bones breaking and snapping in half, folding herself back into the darkness that carried her. Then she was gone. “This is where they took Christophe, isn’t it?” Elliot lowered his head bitterly. “It’s where they take all Reapers who misbehave. If not todestroy us, then to torture us into submission. Anyone can call upon Mother, human or spirit, but I don’t know why anyone would want to. That is, unless they are trying to save someone from the Sin world. Even then they are just as likely to get caught themselves. And don’t try calling her on the surface during the day. She hates the sunlight so you can only call her at night, otherwise she won’t appear.” “How do you know how to find Mother?” “In the Spirit Realm just call her name, she’ll come. On the surface there is a special chantthat’ll get her to visit you. Binding seven, Mother of us all, move through darkness and reveal my truths. Reveal to me your curse of Sins. Show me my nature at the hands of demons.”

Top Ten Favorite Paranormal Creatures
Dragons  - All time favourite. Dragons have so many different stories and myths behind them it’s difficult to pick what type of dragon I like the best. Sirens - I’ve always been fascinated by Sirens thanks to their deadly yet beautiful nature. I think I like them because they can be portrayed as both good and evil. Reapers - Death itself, everything about a Reaper is fascinating. Like dragons, there are many different versions of reapers. I feel like Reapers are the best way to describe fear. ShapeShifters - I wouldn’t mind having the ability to shapeshift. The possibilities would be endless. Ghosts - Ghosts completely baffle me. Are they friendly? What do they want? Why are they here? There’s a mystery to ghosts that I can never really wrap my head around. Banshee - Much like Sirens, Banshee’s are often depicted as evil creatures but I find them to be absolutely fascinating. Vampires - The old classic, vampires have been a source of fear and desire for a very long time. I find Vampires are like super humans only constricted to the night.Werewolves - Werewolves are primal and act on their animalistic urges. Though these qualities aren’t something I find alluring, they definitely are fascinating creatures to try to understand. Mermaids - I don’t know much about the tales of mermaids, but I’ve put them on the list thanks to their darker side. Mermaids, like Sirens, have a twisted urge to drown or kill man. I want to know why. Angels - Angels are on the bottom of my list only because I find they are usually the most straightforward therefore boring class. But, in some cases, Angels have a twisted side too which makes them more interesting to read about.

Self confessed chocaholic, Jacinta was born and raised in Melbourne Australia with her loving family of five. Even as a child Jacinta had an itch to write. Writing was the one constant hobby she clung to, also trying her hand at piano, flute, tennis, horseback riding and drama.
Jacinta works full time in the family business and spends her afternoons either playing basketball, reading, writing or hanging out with friends. She is always happy to try something new; getting her real estate license, practicing ninjitshu, Zumba and parkour to name a few.
For her future, Jacinta sees herself writing. It is a large part of her identity and something she hopes to continue. Aside from her love of stories she loves Japan and its unique and beautiful culture and history. From their delicious sushi dishes right down to their wooden sandals and kimonos. She is also a huge cat person and loves to snuggle up in front of the fire for a good movie or book. Her favorite genres are paranormal and fantasy but she also loves anything written by thriller writer, Stephen King.
