As USA celebrates new Catholic leader - UK's RC Church slammed for child abuse cover up

America is now controlled by a leading Catholic President (Joe Biden) with strong papal links - yet UK Catholics are again struggling under the raging scandal of child abuse by its vile clergy

CATHOLIC CHUCH -  ONGOING CHILD ABUSE SHAME - The Catholic Church has prioritised its own reputation over the welfare of vulnerable children for decades, according to a damning new report.

Society’s poorest: Knives out against PM’s callousness

Reports are coming in that a Tory revolt is now  threatening Prime Minister Boris Johnson with defeat over his divisive plans to cut up to £1,000 a year from Universal Credit payments.

The Northern Research Group (NRG) of MPs is calling for the continuance “until lockdown is lifted” of the emergency proliferation that was brought in to help poorer families survive during the Covid-19 pandemic. NRG have been defined as the “biggest threat to Boris Johnson’s authority since he came to power”.

The ...

Will Tories stab poorest families in the back?

The UK’s most deprived families have been the worst ones affected by the coronavirus pandemic's economic fallout. These people are expected to find it much harder to recover as society rebuilds, a new report warns.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) reported that those who had been struggling to make ends meet before March last year were more likely to work in precarious jobs or sectors of the economy that had been hardest hit by lockdowns.

In response to the poverty problem Primer Minister Bor...

Angling Trust challenging UK Angling Ban

Latest update from the Angling Trust's HQ

Following yesterday's written communication from the Cabinet Office that fishing is to be prohibited throughout the third national lockdown period we contacted supportive MPs and highlighted the problems with this decision and the logic behind it, with a view to securing a safe return to angling as soon as possible. Late this evening I was informed by DCMS officials that the Government are again reconsidering their position.

It would appear that the defin...

Don’t forget the birds this winter

With the arrival of lower temperatures, along with the potential for snow and heavy winds, the birds can have difficulty finding food. In the harsh winter months, extra sustenance that people can provide is helpful for bird survival. This is because natural food sources like berries get hidden under snow and ice and insects are hard for the birds to find.

Below are just a few of the bird species that may be seen in and around the Southport region.

Good bird foods recommended by experts include:...

Community help - or blatant political engineering?

In good faith, OTS News recently ran a story in which Tory MP Damien More was suspected of promoting himself and his group leader on the back of the Covid pandemic. Of course this is nothing new, as all shrewd politicians promote their party political interests from time to time.
The Damien Moore article stated
‘Southport’s MP Damien Moore has been visiting a number of local businesses in Southport today to celebrate Small Business Saturday. Mr Moore, who enjoyed a background in retail manageme...

Sea creature comes in with the Ainsdale high tide - UPDATED!

This morning, parts of an unidentified creature were washed up by the high tide at Ainsdale.

The remains were about 4 to 5 feet in length. Initial suspicions are that this may be a young whale, dolphin or harbour porpoise corpse.

I am currently approaching marine experts for a concrete ID on this marine finding.

Update

Thanks go to Pippa at the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust for her assistance, she stated:
“Yes. this is a cetacean and is one of the odontocetes (toothed whales that include dolp...
