3 Things That Writers Seem to Dislike: Writing, Editing, Marketing?
.
Sounds a bit provocative, doesn’t it? At least the first one, the Writing. The two others I can even proof black on white, and you might have read it yourself when going through questions at author interviews. Ok, for the first one I have written proof too: Lots and lots of forum entries where writers complain, complain, and complain more about the hardship of writing, their constantprocrastinationand how difficult it is to write two or three thousand words per day.

As an author, don’t let yourself trap by Vanity publishers and a plethora of scam artists that want to cash in on writers. The list of these unethical offers is endless and unfortunately some writers are not vigilant and tweet / re-tweet or post without carefully reading and researching these scammers on the Internet. It is easy: just google “complaint” and the name… You might be surprised what comes up!

11 Tips How to Prepare Your Manuscript for Editing
Editing for an Executive-Level Manuscript
Many new authors are surprised to find the editing process may take longer than anticipated. The first step in publishing is easy for them: formulate ideas and write them. it’s often much more difficult for authorsto correlate, expand on, add clarity to, and chop down those ideas.

Tax for Books Sold in Europe
.
Amazon sent out an email two months ago, as they had to change their tax requirements in Europe. Other European countries charge up to 21% tax (VAT) and contrary to the US and Canada, their tax is INCLUDED in the sales prices, NOT added, like in North America.
.
They paid almost no taxes there, setting up shop in Luxembourg, tax there is the lowest in the European Union. Amazon did for many years not pay the tax in countries of their shipments, where it is much higher, and therefore was orde...

Why it is Smart to Get Your Own ISBN
.
In a recent blog post I mentioned the findings of the January 2015 Author Earnings Report: 30% of the e-books being purchased in the U.S. do not use ISBN numbers and are invisible to the industry’s official market surveys and reports. Bestseller Author M.A.Demers Explains:
“An ISBN clearly identifies an e-book as a book, no different from a print book. No ISBN leaves th...
