For Writers in GERMAN Language:
What’s called Fellowships or Writer’s Residency in Great Britain, USA or Canada has an equivalent in Germany: STADTSCHREIBER

.
5 Monate Stipendium “Stadtschreiber in Rheinsberg”

The most important rule of titles is to respect the reader experience. If you set high expectations in your title that you can’t fulfill in the content, you will lose readers’ trust. Just because you have to be accurate doesn’t mean you can’t find ways to make your title pop.

.
Focus on the word “who”: Headlines including the word “who” generated a 22% higher click-through rate than headlines without it. And headlines with eight words had a 21% higher click-through rate than the average title. Keep it short and sweet. Your blog post title will be used as the title tag that appears in the search results. It’s a good idea to keep it below Google’s display limit of 70 characters so that it will appear in its full glory in the search engine results.

How Amazon Hurts Authors & Publishers

Saving-Money

Writer and journalist Douglas Preston explained in the New York Times:
“In March, Amazon quietly changed the way it sells books when allowing third-party sellers to trick Amazon’s customers by selling books as “new” that may not come straight from a publisher or its wholesaler. These third-party sellers are now featured atop the primary purchase button for new books. This was always the spot for Amazon’s own inventory, delivered directly from the publishers or indie authors.”

$14,000 Fellowship for Emerging Writer – Deadline 12/4

Buzzfeed-NewYork

BuzzFeed’s Executive Editor of Culture, Saeed Jones, explained “when we expect young writers to get experience via unpaid internships, we’re actually saying we want only wealthy people writing about American culture in an influential way.  That’s what we get, right?  Or rather, that’s what we’ve gotten used to accepting as normal when in fact, it’s a kind of fiction. Diversity is a reality.

So, in order to do my part to support being in step with reality, I’m really excited about creating...

TRAUMBERUF PILOT? Wirklich?

.

Country Road 309 in New Zealand

A (very) short excerpt from an upcoming novel of New Zealand by Dr. Lawrence Winkler: The Bolthole

When Dr. Sababa first arrived in New Zealand, some thirty years earlier, he and Jane hitched the western entrance of the Tapu, to the trailhead of the Pinnacles Walk. This was where they discovered the love for moreporks in the moonlight and glow worms in gold mines, and each other.

They watched the meteors flash across the Southern Cross at night. “Maybe some day, I’ll buy you a place with a go...
