RIP Brave Maya

~ So...this post has taken me some time to write.  My brave dog, Maya, passed away last Thursday, November 9th, at home with all of us.  It was so sudden, one day she had the symptoms of a stomach virus, then a few days later she passed away.  I watched her take her last breaths and let me tell you, that is something you will never forget...ever.  She was 15 years old, quite a long life for a

Poem: In the Autumn House

a dusty, hand-sewn quilt spreads its wingslike monarchs gathered on broken bark.Soon, it will greet the sun through weathered, cream shuttersthat no longer close.Wood beams dangle from the ceilingas leaves flutter like mothsinto the dead room belowlayering the stained tile floorin a crispy carpet of decay. Broken teacups tilt towards the table’s edgeatop tea-stained doilies beside a porcelain

Poet's Elegy - Mythologie Candles

~ I just wanted to show this candle that is currently for sale at Mythologie Candles, Poet's Elegy.  Not only is it perfect for someone who writes poetry but the design is gorgeous and the accompanying description is poetic as well.  One reason why I love how Mythologie markets their candles, they set the atmosphere and mood.  I do wish that their candles were a bit cheaper.  I believe you can

The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart

~ Just finished watching this series on Amazon Prime and can't say enough how good this was.  If you like stories about family, relationships, overcoming loss and grief, finding inner strength, with a lovely backdrop of a flower farm, you will enjoy this show.  This series is based on a book by Holly Ringland. I Am Out With Lanterns...

~ Another lovely poetic quote from Emily Dickinson. The accompanying image is a piece of artwork created by my daughter who has a pretty big following on Instagram and also draws/sketches portraits for a commission (says the proud mom).  I just inserted the quote as I thought it fit well.

Whimsical Dark Cottagecore Cocktails

~ I found this enchanting site, Opomnia.com while I was looking for dark cottagecore art.  I don't tend to drink very often but these would definitely be on my list of cocktails to try and the accompanying artwork for each drink is gorgeous.  I've added two samples:The Dark Forest"The Dark Forest" was said to have been inspired by a journey through a dense and mysterious forest, filled with

From

~ FROM is another really good horror/sci-fi series that I'm currently watching which can also be found on MGM+ and EPIX. I'm not sure what the creatures are but they are scary and have rather large, sharp teeth!FROM unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out,
