For my post, I’m featuring my latest release, Seaside Seduction, which centers around a relationship between Nicholas Gallero and Selena Gomez. While Nicholas was born in the U.S. and became CEO of a defense systems company in southern Arizona, Selena grew up in Mexico and eventually immigrated to San Diego to teach school. The entire story is told in first person, from Nick’s point of view.

I live in Tucson, Arizona, which is a short hour’s drive to the Mexican border. For this reason, Mexican culture is also a big part of the southern Arizona culture. We have a high population of Hispanic people in our city, many of our streets have Spanish names, we have dozens of delicious Mexican restaurants to choose from, and many of us–me included– decorate our homes with Talavera pottery and other hand-painted Mexican tiles. I know it’s time to shop when the fridge lacks salsa and tortillas! I also lived in southern Peru (Arequipa) for two years during the 1990s and relished the opportunity to befriend some Peruvian families, which gave me a deeper understanding of the culture. Ever since my life-changing experience in Peru, I’ve been fascinated with different cultures and relish every opportunity I have to travel to new places and experience life lived differently. I think it’s made me a better-rounded and more tolerant and caring person as well.

During this era of increased discrimination and violence against people whose cultures, religions, skin colors, and other beliefs don’t match our own, I find it a blessing to write about two people from different countries and backgrounds coming together and recognizing their similarities instead of only their differences to the point that they create a happily ever after.

In the end, we are all human beings with families, hopes and dreams. We really aren’t all that different from others as we seem. May love and tolerance reign and discrimination and hate be left behind :)

My Sexy Saturday – October 26th – from Seaside Seduction

Every Saturday, a group of talented authors post 7 words, 7 lines or 7 paragraphs from a published book or work in progress. You can read some other My Sexy Saturday author posts by clicking here.

This story is written entirely from Nick’s point-of-view. In this scene, Nick is fantasizing about Selena – the woman he’s recently rescued from the ocean. He’s offered to let her stay with him to recover at his Cabo San Luca mansion until her memory returns.

SS1800x2700

I recalled how soft and sensuous her lips had felt under mine when I’d resuscitated her. I imagined her lying on a blanket in the sand; her lips willingly open to mine. Our kisses would quickly advance from gentle to hungry and desperate. I’d taste her lips, memorize their shape with my mouth and tongue and then explore the inside of her mouth until she groaned, aching for my hard member to breach her slit.

I’d savor every minute. I’d nibble on the nape of her neck, her earlobe, and trace my tongue over the line of her collarbone. I’d peel off her dress and cup her supple white breasts in my hands. I’d skim my hand over her nipples until they hardened into pert peaks and then I’d taste them. No contour of her voluptuous physique would be missed; I’d explore every delicious inch of her with my fingertips, then with my tongue and lips, touching, tasting, smelling.  I imagined my fingers sliding inside the warm wet cave between her thighs.

My cock hardened at the thought, aching with want. I rose from my chair and walked into my bedroom. Imagining myself perched over her opened thighs, sliding myself inch by inch into her tight opening, I yanked off my pants and gripped my shaft, pumping it up and down.

I closed my mind and imagined her moan of ecstasy, the toss of her head, the lusty golden glitter in her eyes and her parted lips as we moved together, soaring toward a pinnacle of delight.

A spurt of relief restored my equilibrium. I showered, imagining what it would be like to hold her in my arms after we made love, to feel the tickle of her hair and her warm breath on my chest, to feel her heartbeat.  That fantasy floated through my mind like a cloud as I returned to my desk.

But Selena’s situation is too uncertain, my rational mind argued.  Involvement wasn’t wise, even though her attraction for me was clear as day and her Internet search confirmed she was single.

There still could be a boyfriend. If she were my girlfriend, I’d be frantic to find her. And if he happened to be a murderer…I tried to convince myself these thoughts were ridiculous.

Hump Day Hook – October 23, 2013 – from Seaside Seduction

I am one of many talented authors who share excerpts from their books and/or works-in-progress every Wednesday on Hump Day Hook. If you’d like to read some more enticing author hooks, please follow this link.

This short excerpt, from my recent release, SEASIDE SEDUCTION, gives the reader some insight into the types of women who have been chasing Nick. In this scene, he’s just pulled her from the ocean and she can’t remember how she got there and she’s feeling threatened by him. This contemporary erotic suspense was written entirely from Nick’s point-of-view. Here’s the blurb…

It amused me that she considered me, the perpetual workaholic, a threat, yet her vulnerable and confused expression tugged on an unfamiliar region inside my chest. I was accustomed to women draping themselves all over me at parties—not out of any interest in me as a man—but because they were drawn to my money like vultures. This woman wasn’t about to like me unless I showed her I was worthy. For some reason, this challenge thrilled me. I wanted to gain her trust. “Yes, I’m sure. If you don’t believe me, I can let you speak with my chief engineer, Michael. He’ll tell you I only get entangled with work. I’m Nicholas by the way. But you can call me Nick.”

My Sexy Saturday – October 12 – From New Release Seaside Seduction

I use Grammarly’s grammar check because I don’t want errors to interrupt the flow of my stories.

Every Saturday, a group of talented authors post 7 words, 7 lines or 7 paragraphs from a published book or work in progress. You can read some other My Sexy Saturday author posts by clicking here. My excerpt here comes from my October 7 release, Seaside Seduction.

SS1800x2700

First, here’s the blurb.

Wealthy defense systems CEO Nicholas Gallero spots a mysterious woman in the Sea of Cortez while whale watching from the patio of his Cabo San Lucas mansion. When he realizes she’s in trouble, he rushes to save her. He’s instantly attracted to the voluptuous dark haired Selena Gomez. When Selena says she doesn’t remember how she ended up in Cabo, he invites her back to his house. Business as usual ends and his suspenseful romantic adventure begins.

“Just wait a second. I want to brush off some of this sand.” She turned and looked over her shoulder. Sand coated the back of her body like breadcrumbs on a fish filet.

I found myself unable to blink as she raised the fabric covering the rounds of her buttocks. Her delicious, shapely flesh bounced as she brushed at clinging grains. Lucky suckers.

Once she finished the task, she leaned into me, allowing me to support most of her body weight. “Okay, I’m ready. So you own a house in Tucson, too?”

I liked the pressure of her soft curves at my side, the tickle of her hair brushing over my skin in the breeze. My insides smoldered in delight. I wondered how I’d focus on work with Selena around. “Yes. My main residence and corporate headquarters are in Tucson, but I escape down here whenever I can.”

Selena frowned. “Do you always pick up strange women on the beach?”

I smiled, hoping to put her more at ease. “Only when they’re drowning. To be honest, I usually work longer days here than I do at my office. Modern technology makes it pretty easy to work twenty-four/seven anywhere. I have a hard time prying myself away from the phone and computer even on the best beach days.”

Her rosy lips looked so tantalizing, puffed up in a pout. “I obviously messed up your schedule then. I’m really sorry.”

“Don’t be. I didn’t tell you about my schedule to make you feel guilty—I was just trying to prove to you that I’m not some reckless Don Juan.” Although if she happens to be craving some hot sex, I’m definitely up for it.

As lewd thoughts raced through my brain, I wondered if I should warn the woman to run for her life. For all you know, she might be married. I reined in my impulses. Despite the heady attraction I felt for her; I was genuinely worried about Selena’s plight. The woman intrigued me. She was such a contradiction—beautiful, vulnerable, with an apparent inclination to do off-the-wall things. She thinks she might have straddled a motorcycle and taken off down here?

Hump Day Hook from October 7 Release – Seaside Seduction

I am one of many talented authors who share excerpts from their books and/or works-in-progress every Wednesday on Hump Day Hook. If you’d like to read some more enticing author hooks, please follow this link.

This short excerpt, the moment leading up to the first kiss, is from SEASIDE SEDUCTION; my first Indie debut released October 7. This contemporary erotic suspense was written entirely from the male point-of-view. Here’s the blurb…

SS1800x2700

The sailor-take-warning weather put my senses on high alert—the sea air smelled like salt and fresh rain. The Sea of Cortez, usually glassy calm in the morning, was a mire of waves hooded in white. The sky glowed red with promise before the sun peeked above the horizon of choppy sea. Brilliant red clouds, bloated with rain, billowed in the pastel sky and fiery orange light danced across the sea. Even in January, temperatures tended toward balmy.

I downed a cup of potent Columbian coffee before calling my chief engineer. He and my office manager, Jocelyn, kept Gallero Avionics running whenever I escaped to my Cabo San Lucas villa. I had phone and Internet access and if urgent business came up, the flight to Tucson in my private jet barely exceeded an hour.

“Good morning, Michael.” After acknowledging my call, he asked what I wanted done. Fortunately, Michael shared my impatience with preamble.  “I’m preoccupied with those tests. Are the engineers on site yet?”

The sun had risen high enough in the sky that spots appeared in front of my eyes whenever I blinked. I reached for my sunglasses and noticed movement in the water near the beach. Probably a whale or a dolphin.

If you enjoyed that so much, you’d like to read more, you can buy Seaside Seduction on Amazon for only 2.99

All my Extasy Books titles are on sale for 3.99 for the next two weeks.

By now my eyes had adjusted to the scant light the moon provided and I could see every delicate feature of her face. Her succulent lips were less than an inch from mine. She’s a goddess.

Her lips curled up in a smile and she reached out and traced a finger across my cheek before bringing it to her lips. “If my memory doesn’t come back, that doctor friend of yours might not let me travel and you might end up stuck with me for a long time.”

The possibility struck me as more appealing than problematic. I can familiarize myself with every nook and cranny of her naked body until she’s so relaxed in my company, she walks around the house naked or in silky underwear. “Hmm.” As my heart drummed out a frenetic pulse inside my chest, I imagined the sensation of our lips meeting. I wanted her to be the one to break through that tiny barrier of space that remained between us. Selena wasn’t another one-night stand—she was more like a dream.

My Sexy Saturday – from WIP Plunge into Destiny

Every Saturday, a group of talented authors post 7 words, 7 lines or 7 paragraphs from a published book or work in progress. You can read some other My Sexy Saturday author posts by clicking here. My excerpt here comes from my work-in-progress, Plunge into Destiny.

Her husband says it’s over so Tara flees for the Bocos del Toro Islands off the coast of Panama. When the plane crashes in the sea, she finds herself the sudden mother of a blond-haired four-month old boy, Kevin. The two are rescued by the gorgeous Lucas and Tara soon falls in love with her new child and the man who patiently teaches her how to care for him.

The plane’s structure cracked and groaned as the plane plunged downward. My head swam and fear constricted my throat, making it hard to breathe. I gasped for breath. This is it. We’re going to crash. People screamed. Oh my god.

I clamped my eyes shut and interlaced my hands, bracing for the death I felt certain would come. Why couldn’t I have had a second chance? The plane struck the water with and a stab of pain shot through my chest as I hit the seat in front of me. Water rushed around me and I opened my eyes to darkness.

I stared out the airplane window, watching mile after mile of Caribbean Sea pass by. My life had changed in an instant—that instant the man I’d been married to for fifteen years had said he’d fallen in with someone else. He hadn’t given up on the hope of a child; he’d gone on to say.Neither have I, I thought miserably as I recalled the fertility tests and numerous times I’d laid on my back with my legs up in the air after sex. Despite the discomfort and the inconvenience of it all, I’d tried every technique without complaint, never losing hope that one day I’d hold that bright-eyed baby in my arms.Until he shattered all my dreams with a single sentence. Tears welled up in my eyes and I dabbed them away with a tissue.
