2013 Favorite Reads And A Small Giveaway To Say "Thank You"

2013 was year of ups and downs.

I never discussed what was going on in my personal life because I have never been one air dirty laundry. In a way it was therapeutic for me because it pushed me to look on the brighter side of things when I put together blog posts, added a status on facebook, or wrote a tiny tweet that disappeared into the ether. Because I didn't speak of it didn't mean there weren't moments when I questioned myself. Those--"What the hell am I...

Upcoming Events This Week

The craziness of the holiday season makes the days pass quickly and I thought I would hurry and put together a list of what will happen the next couple of weeks. The last few days have been filled with cooking and family so I've been away from the computer. But all is good. Even with the trials that tested me this year, I know I have been blessed. My heart and thoughts are with friends and family who are experiencing difficulties at this time of year. You are always on my mind. {{hugs}}

Excerpt from Fate And Destinies

I promised an excerpt of my new project Fate And Destinies. Things became a little crazy with nominations and the best of listings. (yay!) But I did remember.

This is a rather large excerpt, a little over 7k, unedited of course. The story is currently at 48k and it looks like it will end up around 100k or more.  I hope you enjoy the snippet! ^_^

Nominations for 2013 Member's Choice

If you are a member of GoodReads M/M Romance Group all the nominations have been taken and starting today the voting starts. Results will be revealed in January 2014 and will include 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. You don't have to be a member of the group to vote--> Go To Vote

It's not about winning because I doubt that I will win any of the categories I've been nominated in. It's about being noticed. That something I wrote touch someone and when asked "which one did you like?"...

When I Get It Wrong ... Woe, Buddy.

This past summer I participated in the GoodReads Love Has No Bounds Event. People choose from a selection of pictures/prompts to write a story about. I wrote Playing For Keeps for the prompt I picked. That was my second attempt at a contemporary story and I was very satisfied with the outcome.

In June, an emergency call went out for prompts people were unable to complete. I took on an emergency call for a Historical Scottish Laird Shifter. I had 30 days to turn in the story...

Breaking Chains

Grandma Kelly, Me, Dad, Great Grandma NeilFor as long as I remember I have been a night owl. My mom tells stories about how she would get up in the middle of the night to find me up, dressed, and playing with my little brother through the bars of the crib. The closer to the time I needed to begin kindergarten, Mom enforced the staying in bed policy. I would lay there staring at the ceiling, sometimes sneaking out of bed to play in the dark. I even remembering talking to Grandma Neil in the mi...
