In the Mean Time blurbs!

A huge thank you to all the amazingly talented folks who said nice things about my upcoming collection, In the Mean Time. (coming October 15th)

"Paul Tremblay's In the Mean Time is a dark, heart-twisting collection of short fiction which defies categorization and requires your complete attention. The children, parents, and teachers who inhabit these stories exist in the ways we all exist–through those old historical longings which are rarely answered.  Tremblay offers no solutions, but in the ...

HWA: Breaking up is surprisingly hard to do

I'm leaving the HWA (Horror Writer's Association). I'd been a member for the past decade: essentially the entire length of my writing career.  I joined the HWA in 2000. I knew of the organization for a few years before that but–even though I could join by simply demonstrating an interest in horror fiction–I told myself I wouldn't join until I had actually sold a story. Sold meaning getting paid real money for a story. I didn't want to join as a fan or as the org's money-maker, I wanted to...

LOST: Have a heart

I've been telling anyone who would listen that I hated last night's LOST finale like poisoned poison. That it couldn't have been worse. With my emotions tempering a bit, the finale still sucked huge rotten eggs, but I suppose it could've sucked worse. I only hated with a capital ATED half of the episode: the sideways world. If last night and this season's show was the island-only stuff, it would've been fine. I don't care that all the questions weren't answered. A little ambiguity I...

Too Close to Home (or oh look, local hateful crazies on such a nice day)

Earlier today on my facebook I posted a Lewis Black video which makes fun of Glenn Beck's idiocy. I know, a wide net there, but more specifically, his proclivity to call all things opposed to him (even empathy?) Nazi.  Yes, it's funny, laugh at the crazy person, ha ha ha.

But, it seems a whole lot less funny when confronted with it.  Case in point:

This afternoon, I went to the post office in Sharon, MA. Pulled up and parked on the street right in front. Well, not exactly right in front...
