My essay at the LA Times
My essay D is for 'daycare: A mystery novelist encounters a real whodunit is now live at the LA Times.
Cue opening snippet:
A man drives into a dead-end suburban lane. Basketball hoops in the driveways, skateboards and bikes are left on manicured lawns, wheels...

One sad, angry author gets email response from Amazon
Amazon vs. Macmillan continues (as discussed previously my blog and elsewhere on the interwebs) and so many authors still are without their buy buttons. Me included. For the purposes of this blog let me reiterate: ME.
Earlier this week, full of gumption and bile, spit and vigor, and quite possible a little gas if I'm being painfully honest, and helplessness too as I was watching my career adversely affected by corporation temper tantrum/spin/power grab whatever you want to call it, I...
Release week so far…
Naomi Johnson reviews NSTW at The Drowning Machine: "Although I thoroughly enjoyed the first Genevich story, The Little Sleep, I wasn't sure that the narcoleptic detective would be as convincing in a second book. No worries. This second book is even better, with more weight and a tighter plot."
*Plus you get a bonus of my father (Paul N. Tremblay) leaving an embarrassing comment at the end of the thread. Thanks, Pops.*

No Sleep till Wonderland now available
Waking up to no heat on my first floor and still being screwed by amazon hasn't dampened the joy of a new-book-release day. There's big acknowledgement page in the back of the book, but special thanks goes to those folks who helped me with the writing of this book in some form: Sarah Knight, Stephen Barbara, Kurt Dinan, Steve Eller, and the hugest of thanks to my editor Helen Atsma. While I worked my ass off on this book (it was much harder to write than The Little Sleep), Helen's help...

Meet the Mark Geneviches
I drew this for my book:
I had a little contest over at the Keenedom (a message board) and folks had to draw Mark Genevich for a chance to win a copies of No Sleep till Wonderland (plus a 6 CD audio of The Little Sleep). Some of the entries are below!
Plus this last one from Ron Dickie, who crossed The Man in the Yellow Hat with Mark:

Amazon pulls Macmillian titles (yeah, my books too) over ebook scrape
There's a lot of digital pixels being spent on the topic. So far, I like Cory Doctorow's take: Amazon and Macmillan go to war: readers and writers are the civilian casualties.
My second novel, No Sleep till Wonderland comes out on Tuesday. Good timing, I know.
Who knows how long the amazon temper tantrum will last. In the meantime, might I suggest you go to your local indie store.
No Sleep till Wonderland, coming Tuesday, will be available here:

No Sleep Till Wonderland: Interview, Crider, Kingdom Books, Contest
8 days until the No Sleep till Wonderland release. Can you stand it? In the meantime…
–Award winning author Tom Piccirilli interviews me over at The Big Adios.
–Author Bill Crider posts his review: "There's no detective out there like Mark Genevich, and if you're looking for something different and darkly funny, you should check out Tremblay's books ASAP."
–Beth Kanell from Kingdom Books posted an in-depth review (and one, clearly, I like very much!):
