Born the only hybrid between two warring factions, Mya's life is all smoke and mirrors. For twenty four years her true identity has been kept a secret inside the virtuous Seelie Court of the ancient Fae. But that time has come to an end. In one sudden blow, her perception of reality is irrevocably altered and her livelihood is stripped away. A dark and mysterious stranger has set his sights on her to possess, consume and claim her for himself. Mya must keep her wits about her to survive…or surrender to her darkest desires.

As one of the leaders in the infamous Unseelie Court, Cole is determined to seize the powerful and magickal hybrid from the enemy’s court on behalf of his people.  A battle is looming and they’re ready to end the war at any cost, but for Cole it’s personal.  The scar on his face is a daily reminder of the cuts marring his darkened soul and when he goes after the hybrid, a burning need to dominate and master her is far too great. Despite the consequences he faces for touching her, Cole's dark and twisted hunger is unable to resist her allure. He craves her full submission, but in order to do that, he must take everything away from her first.

Dark, Erotic Paranormal Romance with BDSM Elements…

The Darkest Faerie Tales
There are two sides of me. One is good. The other is bad. Sure, everyone has bad and good in them, but my two halves are constantly at war with each other—I’m either extremely virtuous or terribly wicked—there is no in between.
In ancient Gaelic myth, the gods and goddesses were sent to earth, becoming known as the Tuatha Dé, God’s tribe in the form of a supernatural race. For centuries, as immortals, they ruled on the earth above humans. Then the Great Atonement happened. As people of the mound, they were stripped of the Tuatha Dé title and turned into Aos sí. They became nothing more than magickal human beings who happened to live a little longer than normal mortals.
The Aos sí are divided into two sects…Seelie or Unseelie. Dualities of light and dark instilled at birth. Though they lived in a semblance of peace, everything changed right before I was born and the factions turned against one another.
I’m half Seelie and half Unseelie, the only mixed breed ever to exist. My parents went to great lengths to hide my true identity during the wars.
I was supposed to live a normal life, the whole white picket fence and everything, but it’s all changing now. The Unseelies seek to take down the Seelies and restore themselves into power, back to the way things were on the magickal island of Sitnalta, before the Great Atonement. However, the Seelies only want to pursue balance, harmony, in all things.
And me? I’m stuck in the middle, torn between two worlds.
This is not a faerie tale.

Riley Bancroft grew up in the heart of Texas. Ever since she was little she favored stories on the darker side, not just supernatural, but psychological as well. She penned her first erotic poems in college about the love of her life. The pursuit of her writing career began when she wrote a short story based on the intimate scene missing in Twilight, to share with her friends. They encouraged her to write her own novel. And so, she did.

Blog Tour: Tempting Will McGlashen by Liz Everly

Blurb:
Mathilde Miller wanted to be a good daughter and marry the son of a long-time family friend, Joshua Bowman. But she didn’t want to be the wife of a Pennsylvania farmer. She loved her life, cooking on the Virginia frontier at her family’s ordinary. The minute blacksmith Will McGlashen walks into her kitchen, her restlessness focused on him. Fresh from Scotland, with a voice “like a song” and thick coppery hair, her heart belonged to him. Was it possible for the daughter of a Pennsylvania German to marry a hired man from Scotland? What did she really know about Will McGlashen and his secret past?
Will McGlashen needed to keep his own counsel. A man with a past full of violence and loss in Scotland, he was grateful for this chance to rebuild his life as a blacksmith in Virginia. He’d have to ignore the undeniable pull he felt toward his boss’s eldest daughter. When Joshua Bowman showed up and claimed her, instead of providing resolution for will, it burns like the fire he wields in his blacksmith shop. As events unfold, Will wonders if the signs she’s sending him are all in his head and prays that he has the strength not to find out.The story is set in the Virginia frontier in 1765, a time when Native Americans still lurked in the hills, bandits and robbers were handed swift justice, and enterprising men and their families attempted to live in and tame the wild western edge of the new colonies. An ordinary offering good food, a bed, and company for travelers along the way was a much welcomed respite. Mathilde and Will's story is woven into the history, adventure, and danger of the time period.

Jamie Lisa Forbes, Author of 'The Widow Smalls': Is on Tour this week. Read an excerpt from this book.

Publisher: Pronghorn Press (October 20, 2014)
ISBN: 978-1-932636-97-0
Category: Short Stories, Literary Fiction, Women's Fiction
Available in: Print & ebook, 231 Pages
BLURB: Thirty years of browbeating from rancher Bud Smalls has penned his wife, Leah, into emotional isolation.  Now Bud is gone and Leah owns the ranch, but there is no help forthcoming from Bud’s brothers who want to force her out and take the ranch for themselves.  When their attempt to humiliate her instead becomes her opportunity to succeed, Leah begins to find her way back to herself and learns how much she can gain by opening her heart.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: The Widow Smallsis just one of the stories in this collection by the WILLA Award winning author of Unbroken, Jamie Lisa Forbes, who writes about the hardships of making a living from the land with an understanding that comes from first-hand experience.  Her deftly drawn characters include star-crossed lovers, a young rancher facing his first test of moral courage, an inscrutable ranch hand claiming an impressive relative, a father making one last grasp for his daughter’s love and a child’s struggle to make sense of the Praise for 'Unbroken':"Throughout this beautifully written story, I pictured the scenes, the characters, and visualized it all as if I walked among them. Five stars."-Laurel Rain-Snow, Rainy Days and Mondays"Unbroken is a powerful, absorbing book from the first page to the last. Forbes' Wyoming ranch background adds rich flavors to the story. The author draws realistic, complex characters. Unbroken is an unvarnished testimonial to a way of life that few of us know."- Mary E. Trimble, author of ' TUBOB: Two Years in West Africa with the Peace Corps'"The author brings to life the setting in this story. I could easily envision ranch life, and how being responsible for the land could consume someone. The harshness of the elements, or the struggles of managing livestock seemed so realistic. I found myself being drawn into this story right away. There was so much to this story, the author not only allowed a very realistic look at ranch life, but also paints a story of family drama and broken relationships. A story well worth reading."- Brenda Casto, VW Stitcher"The writing is realistic and true to the nature of life in rural Wyoming. Harsh winters, endless wind, and dependence on neighbors to survive form the backdrop of this novel. Ms. Forbes writes with a sparseness of prose to match the landscape. This book is one that opens a window onto a way of life few people experience."- Suzanne Lilly the TeacherWriter"Unbroken was a very satisfying read for me.  I found myself putting off eating so I could read "just one more chapter" because I was so involved in the lives of the characters.  Ms. Forbes has a way of drawing you into the lives of the characters and making you feel like you are there living and working beside them, being friends with them.  It's wonderful and when the book is over you feel sad, because you want more of the story even though the story has come to its conclusion.  But you want more because you don't want to leave the characters.  To me that is the mark of a good book, when the characters and the storyline stay with me after finishing.  When I'm still thinking about something they said or did or wondering about a point the author was making or even applying something to my life.  Unbroken has something for everyone.  Descriptions of ranching life, romance, friendship, parenting, tough decisions and so much more.  There is never a lull in the plot and I found it to be an amazing read."- Crystal Fulcher, My Reading Room

RAMONA DIETZ
Snowflakes swirled around the barnyard, like one of those bubble toys, Roy mused, that you shake to watch the flakes spin round.  He stood transfixed in the sifting white, forgetting himself, forgetting his cattle. The drone of the truck engine bored into his skull at last—oh, his father would curse at the waste of gas—and he reached for the door handle, ready to climb in.He felt a hand grasp his shoulder and he turned to see Norm, his hired hand. With Norm’s snow goggles on, all Roy could make out was his jowls.  “Roy. I’m quitting.”“What?”The truck rumbled. Snow rode the updrafts, fell again. Norm shuffled from foot to foot.“I feel bad for ya. It’s your dad. It’s not you. I mean…He can call me a stupid sonofabitch if he likes, but to cuss out my wife…Roy, it ain’t worth it.”This storm had drug Norm down—that was all. “He doesn’t mean half the crap he says. And he’s only out here on weekends. We got the rest of the week to ourselves.”“We’re leaving now.”“Now? We’re weaning calves today. We’re shipping ’em out next week!”Norm sighed, as if he meant to feel guilty, but couldn’t quite squeeze himself into it. “Yeah, I know.”“We just ate breakfast!” Roy blasted, “Why didn’t you tell me then?”“I couldn’t do it then but when I came out here…” Norm looked up and snowflakes snagged in the ruff around his hood, “seems like I just don’t want to do this anymore.”  He stuck out his hand. Roy hesitated, then shook it and although he meant to offer some words of thanks, his annoyance tongue-tied him and Norm disappeared around the corner of the barn without another word.It was always something. Roy had been on the place for three years now, since 1955, and the one thing he’d learned was that ranching was no smooth business. If you squeezed enough water out of the snow-melt for hay, the hay machinery broke down. If you only lost one or two calves in the spring, the market dropped. If you had hay and a good calf crop and the market was strong and you were getting ready to wean and ship, the help quit.He trudged towards his house. Well, the help always quit. Six months to a year was the best they’d kept ‘em. Sometimes just two weeks. Sometimes just two days.  Some of them, like Norman and Jeannie, were people his own age, people he liked. Most of them were just lazy drunks, as much of a burden as the cattle themselves. As he slipped off his coveralls in the mudroom, he opened the door a crack.  “Fran?” he called. He didn’t want to startle her.No answer. Just Ernest Tubb, faintly, on the radio. He walked through to the kitchen in his socks. Fran sat at their shiny chrome table, a cigarette smoldering between her fingers.“Fran.” He leaned against the door frame.“What are you doing home?” She turned to him, her eyes dark pools in her sallow face. With all the snow, she hadn’t been outdoors in a month.  “Can you believe it? Norman quit!”“Hmmm.”  Her gaze drifted back out at the snow. “Roy, do you think we could go out tonight?”“Tonight? It’s only Wednesday!”“I haven’t been to town all week.”“It’s snowing, honey.”She drew the cigarette up and inhaled. “It’s always snowing.”It was hard these days to shove aside the nagging doubt that his wife was unhappy. Things had been so easy at first that he thought it was meant to be that way. He was the son of the town banker. She was the daughter of the town

Book review: The Michelangelo Effect: Keys to Extraordinary Success for Ordinary People by Nekesa Ouma-Namulu

5 Star Review

I received this book from the touring host for an honest review. This is not your ordinary read: this book really makes you think about a lot of things that is happening in your life and things that has happened. It is about our brain, and how it has been hijacked by the media, advertisement and cultural mindsets. We have allowed Hollywood to dictate to us and after awhile we start living what has been said or shown to us on the screen.  The author has done extensive research and presented quite a few examples in everyday life to support her findings. This is very powerful information, as we read and see how the brain has been program to think like the world likes you to think, but the good news is that it can be un- programmed of the bad thinking and reprogrammed with the right stuff. There are quite some remarkable examples and it makes you wonder why only now. This is a book to help you look differently to your brain: that organ that sits between your ears, so if you are really interested in getting your mind reprogrammed then this is a good book to read.
Well done Nekesa Ouma-Namulu this is a well written, thought provoking read and user manual I can go back to often. You certainly opened my eyes.
About The Author Nekesa Ouma-Namulu describes herself as a 'true citizen of the world,' having the privilege of calling many places home. She was born and brought up in Nairobi, the capital of that picturesque nation on Africa's eastern coast, and moved to London where marriage and career made Europe her second home for almost two decades. Her career as a Computer Networking Systems consultant, which included a year with Cisco Systems, saw her spend many happy hours in data centres all over the world, fiddling with fibre-optic cables plugged to huge data switches alight with dozens of different blinking lights. Work saw her set up camp in Mexico City, Seoul and most recently Paris, which led her to conclude, "no-one does a strike quite so thoroughly as the French." Nekesa has published a computing book, which sits happily next to others in UK libraries, as well as a children's fable. Today, Nekesa and her family split time between homes in Kenya, Spain and the UK.

GUEST POST
Did you always have a fascination with the future and how did it happen that you brought two worlds, so diverse, together in one book?
My dad was involved with NASA when I was a kid. We lived in Cocoa Beach, FL, on the beach, near Cape Canaveral. I was always watching launches from the roof of our apartment building, or on the TV monitors at school. To me, space exploration has always represented the future, the ultimate question of, “Where can we go from here?” So, yes, in that sense I have always been fascinated with the future and what technological advances can do for us.
At about the same time, my parents took me to see the movie Camelot when it first premiered. This, combined with having visited such magical places as Tokyo, Hong Kong, Cairo, and Copenhagen before the age of 6, ignited in me a lifelong love of all legends and fairy tales and mythologies—and the Arthurian Legends most especially.
In that sense, the future and the past have always coexisted in my life.
During high school, lo these many moons ago, I was introduced to two novels that would shape my fiction to this day: The Hollow Hills (book 2 in Mary Stewart’s “Merlin Trilogy”), and Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.

The first novel set me on the path to researching the historical roots of the Arthurian Legends. The second, ironically enough, I didn’t care for upon first reading, and I wouldn’t appreciate it until decades later, in 2007, when my (now ex-) literary agent returned from that year’s BookExpo America and sent a blanket email to his client list stating that he had met a publisher who was actively seeking sequels to 19th-century authors’ works. I got the green light to develop a sequel to A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, providing I updated the story for the 21stcentury, and the journey to its eventual completion commenced.
The specifics of that journey I have elected to include, in lieu of a more standard bio, at the end of King Arthur’s Sister in Washington’s Court. It was not the fashion to include authors’ bios with novels in Twain’s day, but somehow I don’t think the old boy will be vexed at me for this break in the tradition with which he was most familiar.

EXCERPT Chapter XI: The Queen in Search of a Baseball Club
CLARICE HELPED ME pack my clothing and accessories for the relocation to London: just what I would need for the first brace of weeks, which amounted to eight large traveling cases, one of which was devoted to my hair accoutrements and cosmetics. Not long after arriving in this century, Clarice had introduced me to these wonderful products, which allowed me to create the same visual effect as I had done for decades with the aid of magic; now you sit privy to the secret of how I could cast ever so many enchantments for President Malory and remain looking as glorious as ever. While I was yet sorting through my garments deciding which to bring and which to leave, my thoughts turned toward a leaving of another sort. I must have appeared sorrowful, for of a sudden Clarice asked if aught ailed me. “I shall miss you, Clarice, when I get to London.” Since that answer represented only half the truth, I hurried on with: “And yet I know that you shall perform your duties in continuing to oversee my office here in Washington to the utmost of your considerable abilities.” That made her smile, and she thanked me for the compliment, but her look turned shrewd. “I imagine you’ll miss President Hinton, too.” “Of course I shall. She has become as a sister to me.” I resumed examination of the dress I had been holding, a sexy little black thing that I would have loved to have worn only for Accolon… “Please tell me about him,” said Clarice. “I beg your pardon?” The shrewd look was back. Mayhap it had never left. “Sir Accolon. Queen Morgan, you have not—um, partnered with any man of this century more often than once to my certain knowledge, since I manage your schedule. I suspect that you have not yet found anyone you like, let alone love, as well as he. No one of this era could make you go all moony-eyed while looking at a dress; therefore, you must be thinking about Accolon. So, please tell me about him.” Ha. I knew I had chosen her as my trusted adviser for good reason, and I rewarded her accordingly. As the memories swirled about in my mind, making me yearn even more acutely for Accolon’s company, I said: “He was a knight with very few peers during his lifetime, excepting only Sir Launcelot and Sir Gawaine. And my brother—those three were the only knights who ever bested him in single combat. So naturally, he was big—in all parts and portions—and muscular, and very strong, yet as a lover he was no brute, but as tender as any virgin maid could ever wish for. His intellect was nearly as keen as mine, as was his eagerness to assist me in righting the wrongs inflicted upon me by my brother. He had hair as glossy black as a raven’s wing, which he kept short-cropped in the old Roman style; he once said it was more comfortable under the helmet than having masses of hair stuffed up under and making the head sweat overmuch. It had a fine curl to it that I found most endearing. His eyes were an unforgettable shade of blue, and he had a strong chin that he kept clean-shaven…Lord God in heaven! Who on earth is that?” While I had been discoursing on Accolon’s virtues, Clarice had activated her screen, which was now displaying the image of a man who could have been my dead lover’s twin. Clarice grinned. “You said the other day that you wanted to find another general manager for the Knights. This man is Alexander Leroy ‘Sandy’ Carter, former WBF second baseman and 2073 Tournament MVP for the Connecticut Yankees. Since his retirement as a player, he has served in various capacities for several teams, including as a GM. He is a renowned expert in all matters baseball.” In any era, when something—or someone—sounds too good to be true, it—or he—usually is. I asked, “If he is so valuable, then why does he not stay with one team?” A look of chagrin crossed her countenance. “Sandy Carter is what we call a ‘loose cannon.’ He can be temperamental and wild, and he gets into fights with players and coaches and…sometimes even with his bosses. And not just verbal fights, either. Usually his points are quite valid, but his means of expressing them don’t earn him any friends.” In a word, then, passionate. Passionate men I understood and could work with. It had been thus with Accolon at the start of our association, and look at all I had been able to accomplish with him. Everything I had ever desired, except King Arthur’s throne. Wit I well that lying and gullibility were two facets of human nature that had not changed in the last fifteen centuries and shall not change in the next fifteen, either. I had learned this while trying to evaluate potential new Knights for the team. Everyone speaks glowingly of his accomplishments and accolades; no one ever mentions his flaws or mistakes or regrets unless a wise employer chooses to ask specific questions of this ilk. Yet Clarice had offered the bad along with the good of this man. Still, I would be forced as a point of honor to relinquish my coveted title of The Wise if I accepted her words at face value; upon turning the thought-receptors toward me, I soon verified everything she had told me about this volatile man. I asked, “Is Sandy Carter available now?” Clarice’s grin returned. “For the right price, Queen Morgan, anyone is.” It took only one call, and Sandy Carter expressed exceeding pleasure and eagerness to accompany me to London as general manager of the Knights. The fact that I had worn the sexy black number during the call saved the team quite a sum with regard to Carter’s agreed-upon salary. Neither as queen nor as ball club owner do I ever make idle promises.
King Arthur - Author Photo AUTHOR BIOKim Headlee lives on a farm in southwestern Virginia with her family, cats, goats, and assorted wildlife. People & creatures come and go, but the cave and the 250-year-old house ruins -- the latter having been occupied as recently as the mid-20th century -- seem to be sticking around for a while yet. Kim is a Seattle native (when she used to live in the Metro DC area, she loved telling people she was from "the other Washington") and a direct descendent of 20th-century Russian nobility. Her grandmother was a childhood friend of the doomed Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the romantic yet tragic story of how Lydia escaped Communist Russia with the aid of her American husband will most certainly one day fuel one of Kim's novels. Another novel in the queue will involve her husband's ancestor, the 7th-century proto-Viking king of the Swedish colony in Russia. For the time being, however, Kim has plenty of work to do in creating her projected 8-book Arthurian series, The Dragon's Dove Chronicles, and other novels under her new imprint, Pendragon Cove Press. She also writes romantic historical fiction under the pseudonym "Kimberly Iverson."YouTube video interview: http://youtu.be/DV5iKrEIROk

Release day Blitz: Till Justice is Served by Jerrie Alexander. Her life. His brand of Justice.

Till Justice Is Served by Jerrie Alexander Series: Killer Affections, #1Genre: Romantic SuspenseCover Designer: Meredith BlairRelease Date: November 3, 2014

Facebook Party!
Join Jerrie and her guest hosts at the Release Party for Till Justice Is ServedNovember 10th from 6pm-10pm CST

Her life.
His brand of justice.

FBI agent Rafe Sirilli has made the war against narcotics drugs his personal fight. Home to settle his father's estate, Rafe has no desire to get involved in local matters. Yet, he finds himself involved in solving two homicides and busting a drug ring as he tries to prove the innocence of a girl he'd long forgotten. Erin has grown into a beautiful woman. The passion she ignites in Rafe is hot enough to incinerate them both. His commitment to the law will be tested.

High school counselor Erin Brady is committed to helping kids. Her world crashes around her when she's accused of making inappropriate sexual advances and suspected of murder. Erin's problems have only just begun. She has a secret admirer, one who vows to kill anybody who threatens to harm her or interfere with his plan. Rafe Sirilli agrees to help prove her innocence. Romance blooms, but Erin refuses to hope for permanence. Rafe is available for loan but not to keep.

Will facing old fears help Rafe capture the heart of the woman he loves? The woman who just turned him away?

"I can't imagine the horror of walking in to wake your child and finding her murdered."

The healthy glow of Erin's creamy complexion had vanished. If anything, she was pasty white. Death, sometimes bloody and gory as hell, had become the norm in Rafe's world, but not hers.

"How could anybody believe I could do something like this?" Erin pulled the rubber thing from her ponytail and dropped it on the coffee table, allowing her hair to fall in waves well past her shoulders.

All those caramel colored waves tumbling and sliding across her neck sent a bolt of heat blazing through his veins. The image of his hands buried deep in those silky stands flashed through his mind. He started to speak but his breath caught.

"Nobody in this room believes you're guilty," Harold assured her.

Rafe didn't comment for fear his voice might crack like a teenager. Truth be told, he was leaning toward believing in her innocence. Experience had taught him never to assume. This last undercover operation busted a drug ring run by the sweetest looking grandmother in Dade County. The sixty-five year old woman wouldn't have hesitated to slit anyone's throat if they'd crossed her or her family. She and her son were currently sitting in a federal prison awaiting trial.

"This murdered girl," Rafe asked. "When did you last have contact with her?"

Erin turned to face him. Her eyes revealed nothing, but her mouth drew to a tight line. "Does that matter?"

Book Review: Book 3 in the Legacy of the Watchers: Masquerade by Nancy Madore. Still a few days left to win your very own copy.

Book 3 of the Legacy of the Watchers series.
THE STAKES GET HIGHER AS A TRAP IS SET.
Nadia is severely shaken by the recent tragedy but, as the Legacy of the Watchers continues, she will turn to BEACON for comfort, immersing herself in plans for an extravagant masquerade ball to raise funds for the disaster victims. But she can’t escape the hidden ones—or the high stakes battle they’re waging behind the scenes. This time Poseidon will be their guide, taking them from the Titan War to the destruction of Atlantis, and leaving Nadia with the hardest decision of her life.

Finding courage she didn’t know she possessed, Nadia strikes up a treacherous bargain that will put her at odds with everyone—especially Will. It’s a deadly game, laced with deception, and Nadia will find that she’s not the only player in this masquerade when part three of the series reaches its shocking conclusion.

Review: Book 1 - The Hidden OnesReview: Book 2 - Power of Gods
Review: Book 3 - 5 Stars
I received the book from the author for an honest review. As more questions arise within the book, the more Nadia, and the men in her life, were more determined to find the answers to them. Each time the story delves deeper into the mysteries of the dijnn, their purpose and reasons for living. In book 1, we learned about Lilith, the creation of the Nephilim, and the times before the flood. In book 2, we learned more about the dijnn after the flood and their survival as they tried to build the land once again with the help of humans, taking us to the build of the Temple in Biblical times. In book 3 we learn more about the Greek Mythology, especially the role of Zeus and Poseidon and the ultimate distruction of Atlantis, the Greeks gods and what it has to do with Armageddon. From book 1 - Book 3 the question remained the same: How did Asmodeous plan to stop Armageddon? The way that the author brought all the history known to man together to create this exciting series was truly very creative and unique. I, for one, just loved this whole series.Nadia, and her team is back, although Will's roll was more at the background, while Nadia, Clive and Gordon tried to find the answers and solutions for the impending disaster. Striking up a bargain with one of thee richest men in the world didn't spell good, and Nadia had to pull all her resources to "win" the day. But, as with every man made plan it backfired and now we must wait for book 4. My word, but Ms. Madore knows how to write!I really enjoyed the mufti-facet story from beginning to end. Each time we meet a dijnn, I am in wonder about her descriptions of each of these "spirits". Some was heartfelt, and some pure evil. But, at the end they, too, were controlled by the power and greed of human kind doing the will of the one that had the ring. The never ending love story between Lilith and Asmodeous really touches the heart. Their devotion to each other and the cause the thread that kept everything together. I must say that I really liked Beth's role as well. She really became a strong character as she, too, try to find the answers to her husband's death.Really a great series, filled with mystery, the ever present question: is God really out there? Capturing the imagination as you walk through history to discover a world within a world.

Ours“Something drained its battery. Sometimes that happens when a spirit is nearby. Why don’t you try asking Wallace a few questions? Maybe he likes men better than women. After all he only kidnapped, raped and killed little boys. “ There nothing Alan wanted less than to try and communicate with a dead serial killer but he had forced his way in with the group so the least he could do was try in fit in. “He liked little boy’s. I don’t think he’s going to be interested in my type. I’m a little old for his taste.” Rhonda didn’t say anything but continued to stare at him. He finally shrugged. “Why the hell not?” He turned toward the empty room and tried not to feel like a damn fool. It was a good thing none of his deputies could see him talking to a ghost. “If you’re with us, Wallace Webster, you should know the world’s a better place without you in it. You were the lowest form of scrum bag and I think it’s a damn shame you were granted the pleasure of dying of old age in here instead of getting the electric chair like you deserved.” Rhonda elbowed him. “Ask a question and stop antagonizing him.” Alan glared at her. “Fine.” He closed his eyes and tried to think of a good question. “Why did you hurt those innocent children?” All of the K2 meters lit up. Rhonda leaned over and grabbed her backpack. She dug around until she found the recorder. “Ask him something else. “ Alan stood and walked over into the circle of K2 meters. “Why, you Son of a Bitch. Why?” He felt a sharp stinging sensation across the back of his neck before cold air enveloped him. Just as he was reaching back to rub the painful area, a putrid smell filled the air and a voice right next to his ear whispered. “Mine.” Without even thinking, he asked, “Why?” There was a sinister laugh and another sharp painful slash across his neck and then down the full length of his back. He went to step out of the circle until something bumped against the side of his leg. The air around him became soupy and every breath became harder and harder to draw in. When he made another move to leave the circle several things happened at once; it felt as if a large hand gripped onto his shoulder, a breathe of foul air filled his nose and the room became crammed with small black shadows. Another whisper finally answered his question. “My children.” Alan forced his legs to move but he only made it a few steps when the black forms rushed to surround him. It felt as if several pairs of small hands were tugging at his pants’ legs and there were arms wrapping around both of his legs. The air overflowed with agitated murmurings and whispers. Every hair on Alan’s body stood up from the static electricity in the room. He blinked his eyes several times trying to focus on the tiny black shadows which had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. They were all inside of the circle of K2 meters and the lights on the meters were flashing on and off like crazy. The shadows were darker than the room’s darkness. They were completely void of any light and the feelings emanating from them were if they were totally void of any happiness. It wasn’t so much the touching or even the presence of the black shadows that bothered Alan. It was those feelings of pain and anguish that were slowly leaching away his own happiness. He could sense they needed his help and this was the only way they knew how to ask for it. He broke out in a cold sweat, and just as the coldness was beginning to seep into his skin, frantic screaming came from somewhere else in the hospital.

Cover Reveal: Tempest In Disguise by Riley Bancroft. Dark. A Erotic Paranormal Romance with BDSM Elements…

Tempest In Disguiseby Riley BancroftSeries: Darkest Faerie Tale, #1Genre: Dark Erotic Urban Fantasy RomanceCover Designer: Fiona JaydeRelease Date: November 6, 2014

He angled his head lower down until their mouths were only a centimeter away. “Perhaps, you need someone to show you the way—to take control.”

Mya licked her lips and tried to ease the anxious pace of her heart as she inhaled his breaths. Her thoughts made her words come out muddled. “Or, maybe I’m the one controlling you already.”

“You like to play games, Mya?” He taunted her with his lips, so close, yet too far away.

The walls of her core clenched and released, an aching void, wanting to be filled. A sting of pleasurable pain seared her breasts and her shoulders arched when he pinched her rock hard nipple through her clothes. Her thigh muscles almost gave out as need for him ripped through her. “Do you like to play games?” she asked back in raspy voice.

“Have you ever studied psychology, Mya? When a person is nervous or unsure they basically repeat what the other person said.”

Damn it. Was she nervous? She couldn't think straight. Both halves of her warred for dominance. One side wanted him to play with her. The other wanted to out play him. He was a dark temptation for her and her downfall at the same time. To hell with it all, she let her Unseelie side rule the moment. Her hips thrust backward and she ground against his shaft. Arching her back, she titled her head up, moving her mouth closer to his. Contact. Warm, thick lips met hers and an urgent need sparked a greater want inside of her.

As she reached up behind her and twined her fingers in his hair to pull him tighter, he returned the frenzied kiss. His tongue sought hers demanding surrender in her mouth and it fueled her lust with every stroke. Every touch from him, his dominating hold over her, lit her up—like a raging fire in a forest ready to consume every tree in its path.

Mya lost herself with him, just the two of them, two bodies burning in an inferno seeking more. She melted against him and let him take the reins, following each movement of his lips and tongue, unable to get enough of him.

He fisted his hand into her hair and pulled her head back. “Take off your clothes.”

The hell you say. Her thoughts couldn't keep up with her maddening pulse. “What?” Deep down though, she knew their game led up to this defining moment.

“I think you heard me.” He tightened his hold on her. “You wanted to play, you wanted control—well, I want your surrender.” A dangerous hunger danced across his face.

The lustful glint in his eyes left her breathless, even hotter than before. She licked her lips, contemplating the seriousness of what he asked for, the taste of him lingered on her tongue. Would she be able to do, as he demanded?

Riley Bancroft grew up in the heart of Texas. Ever since she was little she favored stories on the darker side, not just supernatural, but psychological as well. She penned her first erotic poems in college about the love of her life. The pursuit of her writing career began when she wrote a short story based on the intimate scene missing in Twilight, to share with her friends. They encouraged her to write her own novel. And so, she did.
