He felt the warmth slide down his throat.With a flick of his fingers Marcus summoned a footman and ordered himself and Harlow a drink. He raised an eyebrow. “How many brandies have you had today?”Henry frowned. “I beg your pardon?”“How many?” Marcus asked without a trace of humor. “I feel you are drinking too much of late my friend, which is unlike you. You weren’t drunk when I left you at Lady Skye’s ball, so what happened on your way home?”Henry gave a curt reply. “I went to Mrs. White’s fine establishment, if you must know.”Harlow tugged at his sleeve and laughed. “Not solely to drink I hope. I can think of more...” Harlow’s smile disappeared when he saw the fleeting flash of guilt on Henry’s face. “Oh, my God, you did just drink.” He shook his head. “Christ, Henry. You’re a bachelor. Buck up man. This dry spell is getting ridiculous.”Henry didn’t try to hide his annoyance. “What if you lost Caitlin? Or you lost Sabine? What would you do? I suspect there would not be enough brandy in the world for either of you.” He picked up the paper again and opened it blocking his view of his soon to be ex-friends if they carried on like this.Marcus bashed the paper aside. “That’s bloody different and you know it. Sabine’s my soul mate”--”And for almost ten years, you moped and drank, and used mindless sex to forget her. So don’t preach at me. Either of you.”Henry stilled the rush of anger by leaning back in his chair, downing the rest of his drink, and calling for another just to spite them, the bloody self-satisfied.... Bugger them.He eyed them both warily. “What are you doing here at this hour, anyway? Normally I have to drag you away from your wives—and son,” he said, staring pointedly at Harlow.The two men looked at each other. This can’t be good. Henry squirmed in his chair, wishing he had another engagement to go to so he could leave without stating a lie.Harlow grinned at him. “Actually we’ve come to meddle, and before you object, just remember how you meddled in our relationships.”Henry’s mouth dropped open. “I did not meddle, much. I certainly didn’t help. In fact, I almost drove Sabine away.”Harlow ignored him. “We both feel it’s high time you found a wife.” He paused. “A suitable wife. Let me be perfectly clear. One that is not Hilda.”“Oh, how the mighty have changed their spots,” he drawled sarcastically. “You once told me wedlock was to be avoided at all costs.”“Wedlock to Hilda, yes. Marrying Hilda would be a slow and painful death,” Marcus added.“I agree.”                                                                                                               Both men’s glasses halted at their lips when they heard Henry’s agreement.Henry shrugged. “I realize that I should not have to suffer my brother’s mistakes. He would not have wanted that for me,” he added softly.Both of his friends nodded. “Richard seemed to have an affinity with Hilda. You do not.”Marcus rubbed his hands together. “This makes our conversation much easier.” He leaned forward in his chair. “I have a challenge for you.”Harlow interrupted. “We have a challenge for you. A challenge we feel will lead to great joy.”Henry merely stared at the two of them. His wariness grew. They looked far too pleased with themselves.Marcus carried on. “We challenge you to find a wife by the end of season”--”That’s only six weeks away,” Henry felt the weight of the earring in his pocket. Hmmm. One of the reasons he’d hoped to meet these two scoundrels today, was to see if they recognized it.Marcus feigned shocked surprise. “I know you’re out of practice but surely a rake like you can woo a woman in six weeks. Besides, you haven’t even heard the forfeit.”“I can hardly wait,” the sarcasm made his mouth turn down. He lifted his glass, “Well, what is the forfeit? Something dastardly I’ll wager.”Marcus gave a sly smile and Harlow tried to look angelic with little success.“If you don’t find a wife of your own choosing by the end of the season, you will offer for and marry Lady Amy Shipton.”Henry’s drink sprayed the room as he choked on the liquid. A coughing fit ensued. “Amy Shipton!”“Last year you thought her perfect for me,” Marcus insisted. “She’d make you an excellent wife. She’s beautiful, kind, generous, and her father’s a duke.”If he’d been having this conversation a few days ago he’d disagree. But since this morning he’d come to realize Amy was beautiful. She had the same dark, sultry beauty as Millicent. Maybe that was why he’d never considered her. It was too soon after Millie.

My Review

A Sweet Cinderella story that lands our "prince", Henry with the illusive "glass slipper" to look for the mystery woman who had his heart in her hands which led too assumptions fueled by unhappy childhoods. 
Two people, Amy, the daughter of a Duke and Henry, Earl of Cravenswood were neighbors all their lives. Amy the young woman who grew up loosing her heart to the rake at fifteen. But her parents unhappy marriage as an arranged one with no love between them left her wary for marriage and men. Her father lived with another woman who gave him children he loved and adored but never she never received the same love.
She wanted more than that, was not willing to compromise a cold unwelcome marriage only for security. She wanted love. Henry's childhood life was also distant without warmth and care and he wanted the same. Love and care from a woman who can capture his heart. Together they had to find that in each other. But the interesting twists through all the assumptions kept you guessing if the two would ever figured it out. Throwing in a ex-mistress, two ex-rake friends who set him up with a dare and you have the setting of a good romance in the making. With passion and lust to fuel the paper and the sheets. 
A Good read for the Romantic at heart and a love for history.

My 5 Star Review

What an unexpected ending! But I will not disclose this here{smile}
Mystery, Suspense and Romance was build in this Historical story while the Red Box took center stage. The author never allowing you to its locked up secrets. My heart was touched by the characters Glen and Bonnie. Two people coming together to share a life believing in the happy ever after. But then came the unexpected twist.
I never seen it coming at the beginning and I must admit I felt cheated in a way. In a good way {smile} Not real words to describe the feelings towards Bonnie that did everything to survive. Maybe it was not the best way but for her it was the only way out of a senseless existence. Leaving her parents house after enduring a long and stretched out abusive family life.
At the beginning I really did not like the selfish behavior of this young woman where every thing had to revolve around her but once she met the GI Glen Taggard she became human. A woman who I admired. Who for the first time in her grown up years was honest giving her heart to this old soldier.
The back ground plot of the end of the Second World War as soldiers return to their loved ones. Where we met Charlie and Amy and a sweet young love that tugged at Glen's heart yearning for something similar once he returned.
Glen was a real gentleman, perfect and romantic that carried her on his hands but when he discovered her deceit he was broken and he had to do the right thing. It devastated him. Because two small miraculous would be damaged in the long run and his marriage a scam. But he had to clean the slate. At the end as protector of his family he had to do the right thing and put Bonnie away. Yes in prison!
But his love towards this woman he thought he knew shined threw and I can admire a man like that. Willing to do what ever it takes to rescue his family.
The rest of the cast really helped to build the plot line. Aunt Irene and Uncle Dan, Luthur, Christine and Baby Girl. Each strong in their own right to bring a thought provoking and suspense filled story.

My 5 Star Review to a gripping story of love and Loss.What would you do to safe your family? The question our main character William faced when everything was stacked against him. But I do get ahead of myself. It has been awhile that a story moved me like this book. I read this gripping book in 12 hours. I just could not put it down. Words flowed from the pages that held me captive to know the outcome of the choices the two main characters William and Maggie faced. It all started with William who received dreams of a young boy that looked like him at a younger age. Every time he wake he was terrified, shaking and tired. When the sudden ill fated news of a beloved aunt reached him he had to go back to his home town and face the woman who chased him away.Every thing is in this heart felt story that would make it one of my favorites. Passion, romance, a committed relationship and fierce protection for those he loved. But there was also the sad parts teenage pregnancy, abuse, Spouse abuse, incest, rape and guilt.This is a must read for those who loves realistic love stories that keeps you on the edge of the seat in awestruck suspense. The characters were strong building the plot to a climax and lead to the ultimate happy ending. {I know I am giving it away[smile]}I cried in this book so much that my husband made fun of me at one time but I just brushed him off and went back. Seeking the answers William and Maggie were looking for. Torn apart six years before they had to overcome many obsticales to finally have what we all want. Trust. Happiness. Love that not only saved the family but brought them together in peace.Beautifully written and touched my heart.

1.       Where did the idea come from for the book? My Wife is Russian and it was easy to use experiences I had in getting her to the United States. I have also danced salsa for my entire life.2.       What genre does your book fall under? It is a mixture of suspense, mystery, romance and a family saga. The romance will sneak up on you and you will not realize it until you finish the book.3.       Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?Jennifer Lawrence would be good as Sevta, and perhaps Zac Efron as Danny, Also Jane Seymour for Seveta’s mom, and if he was still alive Patrick Swayze as her father.4.       What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? The red-hot thread of the salsa dance runs through this novel that explores the Russian mob, slavery and prostitution rings, and the art world, as well as love, loss, revenge and the strength of family ties.

 5.       Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

6.       How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? The first draft was about 6 months, but I have worked on it for over 6 years since then.7.       What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? This is an interesting question and I read a lot, I can’t think of one close to this.8.       Who or What inspired you to write this book? My wife who was born in Russia and my love of dancing salsa.9. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

My 5 Star review

The first thing you notice when you start to read this new book of the author is his love of Salsa dancing. His in depth look at this exotic and very sensual dance that brought all the characters of the story together in New York City.
We are taken from St. Petersburg in Russia to New York in USA to Tuscany, Italy visiting the night life and introduced to the beautiful dance and the training to make this a beautiful and sensual dance. 
The suspense building as Sveta learns that her father after twenty-five years is still alive. The strong willed woman made decisions to follow every lead with what she has. Joining a exhausting training schedule to learn all she can to get to America. On her journey we met her good friend Olya, Denis, Andrew, Danny, her boss and her mother. The mafia follows her trail and people started to get murdered. Doors open up to make her dream come true and she embarked on a adventure of a life time.
Danny was a wonderful young man that had all the best attentions and lead her further on her quest. His willingness to help and making sure she was safe as a true gentleman should do. A man of his word.
Secrets unraveled as you get closer to the end. Interesting and well written plot right through the end.
I really enjoyed this book with all its interesting twists to keep you wondering if she would find what she was looking for while capturing the man' heart as her own.
Once again a very good book I can recommend to all suspense readers with a touch of romance on the side. Traveling the world and learning to appreciate the passion filled dance of Salsa.
