What's That? There!

Why that? That's our publishing date! A mere FOUR DAYS away! I'm feeling so many things at this point. Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) went out, and I've received two reviews already! Both of them were good, unfortunately, Claire Beausejour is not as relateable as I had hoped.
Pause right there!
Rationally, I KNOW not every person is going to be able to relate with every character, but it's just a weird quirk I have. I like knowing that a character is relateable! I'll say it again, RELATE TO CHARACTERS! Lol! How do I get through my oddness, you ask? Well, even if you didn't ask, I'm going to tell you!
By making multiple characters with various personalities. I try to give my supporting characters an evenly distributed amount of page time between them. Even if you don't find my main character someone you can (hear it comes again!) relate to, maybe you can with a supporting!
Not really a secret of the trade or anything, but I just thought I'd share.
Did I mention there's only FOUR DAYS LEFT?!

JUST TWO MORE WEEKS!

Oh my gosh! Two more weeks until I will be a 100% published author! Why yes, I am having a mini dance party over here for myself! I'm ashamed to say I haven't been keeping up with my media outlets as I should; however, that will be changing since we are finally getting into the flow of things on the home front!

Don't forget, you can also find me on several websites!

Work in Progress Blog Hop for the Next Big Thing

Rules: ***Answer the ten questions about your current WIP (Work In Progress) on your blog ***Tag five other writers/bloggers and add their links so we can hop over and meet them. It’s that simple. Ten Interview Questions for The Next Big Thing: What is the working title of your book? Love Something Fierce (Featured in Harvest Treats) Where did the idea come from for the book? Part my own life, part the lives of friends, it's really just various events that have happened to various people I happen to know, squished into one. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? Honestly, the male lead could be Gerard Butler, not only because I'm a sucker for him, but also because he has that charm and way about him that Dawson, the leading male role, has. For the female lead, because they need to compliment as well, I'm seeing Katherine Heigl. She's the strong, independent role needed for Claire, the leading female, but she's sensitive enough for when needed. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Love has more of a mind of its own than anybody ever gives it credit for. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? I am being published by Renaissance Romance Publishing. (Shameless plug: They're also holding open calls for submissions right now! I encourage any upcoming writers to take a look!) How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? Oh goodness. Well, this is my first piece I've ever put out there for publishing consideration, the publishing company asked if I had any works in progress to contribute to Harvest Treats. At the time, all Love Something Fierce existed as was a bunch of thoughts with a title floating around my head. The full turn around on it has been about a month. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? There's a series called Trueblood, Texas (no, it's nothing like the show, and it's not the books the show is based off of), and Love Something Fierce could quite easily compare to the series. Who or What inspired you to write this book? Life. Just every day life. My husband and kids played a role, as well as many of the other writers at Renaissance Romance Publishing. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? The fact that it's relateable. That if you haven't lived in the situation yourself, you probably know somebody who has, whether you realize it or not. From here I'm tagging: Abigail Parrish A Chief's Wife - A blog detailing the triumphs and failures of being thrown into the life of not only a Navy Wife, but a Chief's wife.

Just Over A Month...

Just over a month now until the book release, and I'm feeling more and more anxious with each passing day! My husband knows that I'm being published, but doesn't know much beyond that, and it's pretty exciting on one hand, but on the other--what if he hates it?! Not so much what if he hates it--but what if he thinks all the hours of tolerating my humming along to my headphones weren't quite that worth it? Who knows! Lol! The woes of the writer!
