Recommendation: Demons of Oblivion Series

One of my favorite urban fantasy series is the Demons of Oblivion series by Skyla Dawn Cameron. The first book is Bloodlines. I’m not afraid to say that Zara Lain is my favorite character, but the other characters are awesome as well. Books two and three are narrated by different characters and each are unique and their voices just as clear as Zara’s, though vastly different :) If you enjoy kickass female leads, vampires, witches, hunters, demons, and a dash of romance, I highly recommend these books.

After three hundred years of unlife, narcissistic vampire Zara Lain has seemingly done it all, and she’s now making a living as a successful thief-turned-assassin. Her newest assignment seems simple enough: kill the aging leader of the O’Connor coven and his only heir, and she’ll have another ten million in the bank.

But in the dangerous world of the supernatural, few things are ever “simple.”

When a massive assault decimates the continent’s population of powerful witches and warlocks, and its orchestrator has vampires being hunted down and captured, Zara realizes the tables have turned and now she’ll be playing the hero. Forced to join with a smart-mouthed fellow vampire, a demonologist who’s also a fan of hers, a recently widowed—and frequently brooding—warlock, and her best friend’s mom, Zara’s grudgingly willing to do what she can to save the day.

If only people would stop ruining all her outfits…

Bloodlines also includes the short story Thrall, written in the POV of Nate O’Connor. Thrall is set toward the end of Bloodlines during a four-month gap in the timeline.

Warning: Contains heavy doses of snark, a sexually confident heroine who likes killing people and has no secret heart of gold, lots of explosions, and very naughty language. Also, some terrible stuff happens to expensive formal wear. I’m sorry. I’m really, really sorry.

 

 

A Suggestion While You Wait…

Hey all. Sorry about the quiet but not much to report other than I’m working on revisions for one book and, hopefully, I’ll have news on another book soon. In the meantime, if you like ghosts and awesome female protags, you should check out Natasha Hoar’s novellas:

Reversion

So, I’ve recently gotten the rights back to all three of my works–The Red Barn, Ghoultown, and Over the River. Sometime in the next week or two those three books will no longer available for purchase at any retailer.

There is a reason for this and I hope to be able to announce that reason soon, but be assured, those three books will be available again in the future– I promise.
