Fantasy and the Writer
As some of you who’ve been following my Twitter account for awhile know, I’ve been slowly writing an epic fantasy novel over the last couple of years. This year I’ve managed to get up to about 10k…which is awesome because it was at 2.5k for a looooong time LOL I have a strong suspicion that I’ll have to write a book bible first, with the main characters, the most important world events, and family trees before I can really dig into the world.
The first fantasy book I ever read was The Hobbit–I think I was around ten or eleven years old–and I still read it at least once a year. Then I found my mom’s Terry Brooks novels and started in on the Shannara series (I admit I’m terribly behind on those books now). Currently, I really love the Green Rider series by Kristen Britain (Karigan is an awesome heroine!).
I am on the look out for new/new-to-me fantasy authors, so if you have suggestions please let me know!
Speaking of the Shannara series, I’ve been keeping an eye on the progress of the television adaption of the Elfstones of Shannara. While I’m hesitant to get too excited because it’s MTV, I must admit it looks like a great show. Terry Brooks was very involved with the process so that gives me a bit more hope :) I think the casting is well done, and I’m looking forward to the premiere on Jan. 5th.

A Few Things
Hi All. Happy October!!!! My favorite month :) Just wanted to post a few things:
1.) I’ll be playing around with the blog theme this month, but it will be Halloween/monster themed the whole month.
2.) I’ve got a few books out on submission, so I hope to have some news within the next month or so.
3.) I’m currently working on revisions for Isles and West #3, and am writing the beginning chapters of a book that takes place in that world but with different characters. There are so many things to explore and many stories to tell within the Isles and West world that I’ll probably be playing in the world for the rest of my life :)
4.) One of my publishers–Evernight Publishing–is celebrating their 5th Birthday! They have tons of awesome prizes and some wicked grand prizes. Hop over to their blog and have a look: Evernight Publishing’s 5th Birthday!
5.) I’m hoping to the cover for Ghoultown up by the end of the month and am very excited for you all to see it!

Contract: Ghoultown
I’m so happy to announce that Ghoultown will be re-releasing with Vamptasy Publishing!
As most of you know, Ghoultown was originally publishing by Musa Publishing (which has sadly closed its doors). The novella is a sort of prequel to the Isles and West trilogy, where you get to see one of Delilah and Milly’s most trying and biggest cases while they were in training. Their world is one where ghosts and dark beasties are known to exist, as are those who have the gifts to deal with them. I’m very excited for the book to once again be available to the dark fantasy/paranormal loving masses!!!
