Can you remember those “simpler times” in your life?
I’ve watched this video all the way through twice in the past week. Once on my own, and then I showed it to a few friends.
It’s made me laugh, and at the same time get a little teary-eyed (especially at the end). I saw the same reaction from my friends.
I’ve wondered since watching it why it moved us so… and I think it’s a combination of bringing us back to times that perhaps seemed simpler (even if that’s just a memory and not an actual fact!) and of the incredible power of music in our lives.
Make sure to watch the video until the end, the last 5 minutes are magical.
And if you’ve seen it already, it’s worth another watch, while asking yourself:
“What is it about this video that strikes such a chord within my heart?”
“How can I evoke these positive feelings in my life more often?”
Comment below the video and let me know.
Until next time,
Keep Tapping!

Tapping Meditation – Letting Go of the Past
One of the greatest powers in Tapping comes from releasing events from the past.
If we have negative emotional experiences that haven’t fully healed, that we haven’t let go of, the reality is that they are STILL affecting us on a daily basis, often unconsciously.
Has something happened to you in the past, that when you think about the event, it still holds an emotional charge?
Perhaps a broken heart that still aches? Difficult financial events that you can’t seem to let go of? Did you do something that you feel guilty about and are still beating yourself up over?
If so, one of the fastest ways to let go of these past events is to use a Tapping technique called, “The Movie Technique”.
So today, if you want to feel a little lighter, let go of a little more, find that energy and joy again, then I have a free Tapping Meditation for you!
This meditation was originally designed as a companion to my book, “The Tapping Solution for Pain Relief”, but even if you’re NOT in pain, you’ll find the meditation applies to letting go of any event from the past.
Go ahead and give it a listen, do some tapping, let those past events go, and allow your body to heal.

Sometimes you just need to breathe…
One of the most common challenges that we all face today is overwhelm.
It’s not always easy balancing work that never ends (thanks internet… lol!), our health, our family life, our social life… and all of the other million things that come up every day.
Whenever I find myself overwhelmed, one of the first things I notice is how constricted my breathing gets.
And one of the first things I do to bring down the overwhelm and to bring myself back into balance is to tap on my breathing.
So today, I want to suggest that you tap along with this quick Tapping script. It will help you to get grounded and to find your breath, so that you can be more present and relaxed during your day.
Tapping to Find Your Breath
Start off by thinking about your day or weekend. What things do you have to get done? Are there things you’re stressed about with the weekend? How do you feel about your week? Did it go well? Are there things that you’re still carrying from the week?
As you think about these things, notice your breath. How restricted does it feel? Is it easy or difficult to take a deep breath?
On a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 feeling like your breathing is very constricted, and 0 being that you can easily take a full, deep and long breath, where is your breathing right now?
Let’s begin tapping:
Starting on the Karate Chop point:
KC: Even though I’m so overwhelmed by everything going on in my life right now, I choose to bring some relaxation to my breath.
KC: Even though I’m so overwhelmed by everything going on in my life right now, and it feels like I just can’t keep up, I choose to bring some relaxation to my breath in this moment.
KC: Even though I’m so overwhelmed by everything going on in my life right now, and I don’t know how I’ll possibly get it all done, I choose to bring some relaxation to my breath and be still in this moment.
Now tapping through the rest of the points, say these phrases at each step as you tap:
Eyebrow: I’m so overwhelmed
Side of Eye: I’m so overwhelmed by everything going on in my life
Under Eye: There’s just too much going on right now
Under Nose: I don’t know how I’ll ever find balance again
Chin: I’m so overwhelmed
Collarbone: It seems impossible that I’ll be able to get everything done
Under Arm: How can I possibly relax?
Top of Head: It feels like it never ends
EB: But maybe I could just be present in this moment
SE: Maybe I could allow myself a moment to just catch my breath
UE: I have so much overwhelm in my chest
UN: I want to allow this overwhelm to release from my chest
CP: I choose to allow some breath into my body
CB: Maybe I could notice some of the little things around me in this moment
UA: Maybe I could notice some of the peaceful things around me right now
TH: Maybe I could bring some peace into my body
EB: With everything going on in my life, maybe I just need to take a moment right now to breathe
SE: I want to allow my body to breathe
UE: I choose to allow my body to breathe
UN: I can go back to figuring things out in a few minutes
CP: But in this moment, I am choosing to allow breath into my body
CB: I can even take a breath, and allow oxygen into my body in between each point that I tap on
UA: I can go back to figuring everything out in just a few minutes
TH: In this moment, I am choosing to breathe and just be present with what is around me
EB: I can allow my body and mind to just be present
SE: I can allow my breath to slow down
UE: I can allow my breath to get deeper and fuller
UN: What if I could approach my weekend with more breath?
CP: How much easier would each day be?
CB: What if I could allow myself to breathe during the entire weekend?
UA: What if even during the stressful moments, I could find my breath again?
TH: want to allow myself to breathe more this weekend
EB: Regardless of what happens this weekend, I will be ok
SE: No matter what comes up this weekend, I can always find my breath
UE: I can continue to find my breath throughout this weekend
UN: I can find peace, even through the business
CP: I choose to allow breath into my body
CB: I choose to allow peace into my mind
UA: I can breathe and be present in my body and mind, even when things are busy
TH: I am so thankful for my breath
Now take a deep breath in… hold it… and then out again.
And do that 2 more times. In… hold it… and then out again. In… hold it… and then out again.
On a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 feeling like your breathing is very constricted, and 0 being that you can easily take a full, deep and long breath, where is your breathing right now?
Did it improve? What did you notice as you did the tapping? How will you approach your weekend differently now?
Let me know by leaving me your comments below.
Until next time…

How Anger and Other Negative Emotions Affect Your Body
Have you ever been so angry that your face turns red, your body starts shaking, or you feel like you just want to hit something?
You can imagine anger like a volcano, building up pressure until the top just blows off. Or, if you’re like me, maybe you remember Bugs Bunny cartoons and watching the characters blow steam out of their ears. Lol!
When we experience the emotions of anger, there’s actually a whole series of biological effects that take place in the body. Here’s a really cool 2 1/2-minute video on the science of anger.
Anger is a natural emotion and it should be acknowledged. It can also be a catalyst for positive changes, like when we see an injustice that should be righted, when we witness another being hurt, or maybe if we’ve been taken advantage of.
But when we hold on to this emotion, or if we are quick to anger all of the time (like someone cutting you off in traffic) it can actually be toxic and degrading to our overall health.
That’s why we need the proper tools to release it, and to bring our bodies back into balance.
If you’d like some help with releasing anger, I encourage you to check out this Tapping Meditation. It’s great to use in the moment, and when used repeatedly, it can train your brain and your body to be less prone to anger.
Until next time,
Keep Tapping!

Tapping for Parents, Children, and Teenagers
With the release of my newest book, My Magic Breath: Finding Calm Through Mindful Breathing, I realized just how large our library of Tapping resources for parents, children, and teens has grown over the years.
While we have no intentions of stopping here, I thought it would be great to start compiling a resource list into one place so that you can easily find what you’re looking for when it comes to Tapping with youngsters.

10 Tips for Teaching Your Kids Mindful Breathing
Just like adults, children will experience the same emotions of stress, anxiety, worry, sadness, anger, fear, etc. as they go about learning and growing.
However, the main difference is that the young developing mind doesn’t always know how to process, release, or properly categorize these emotions. So we need to help them learn, using the right tools and methods.
A lot of these methods are actually pretty easy to learn ourselves, as well as to teach to our young kids. One of these is Tapping, which I love to use with children because it’s a physical activity that keeps them engaged, while encouraging them to really tune in to their feelings at the same time.
Another technique that is really simple and powerful is learning how to breathe mindfully. Now, we all know how to breathe, and our bodies do it naturally without us having to think about it.
But “mindful” breathing is a little bit different because it pairs our breathing with our conscious thoughts and imagination. Just through the proper use of our breath, we can change both the emotional and biological states of our bodies. It’s super-easy to learn, but simply just isn’t taught very much in Western culture.
Teaching kids how to breathe mindfully to let go of stress and their bad feelings is the inspiration behind my newest children’s book called “My Magic Breath: Finding Calm Through Mindful Breathing”. So be sure to pick up a copy!
But in addition, I wanted to add some other helpful tips to go along with the book itself that will help your child learn the technique of midful breathing. Here’s a short list to get you started!
1. Set aside some time every day
Children are very accustomed to doing things every day on a routine schedule, starting from their days as an infant. Feeding time, nap time, play time, school time, reading time, quite time, etc.
So by designating a specific time every day to practice “breathing time”, your kids will get into a habit of practicing it.
2. Have a special “breathing space”
Similar to above, children associate their environment with specific activities. The crib is for sleeping, the changing table is for changing diapers, the high chair is for eating, the potty is for using the bathroom, the rocking chair is for feeding, and so on.
For making a space for your kids to practice breathing, it should be quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. A big fluffy pillow, a furry soft blanket, a colorful corner of their room, or a cozy sitting chair works great.
3. Make it fun
We all know how quickly developing new habits fizzle out when they seem like hard work. And for children especially, you want to make sure that learning how to breathe mindfully is fun! The goal is to make it relaxing and enjoyable, not just another chore.

How to Be Mindful of Young Minds
When we get a bruise or a scratch on our bodies, we are typically very certain that it will heal with time, because that’s what the body is designed to do. And because we can actually see it happen, we become very familiar with the healing process.
For young children, we even go out of our way to ensure that everything will be alright after a tumble or a scrape. We offer added attention, we pour on the encouragement, we kiss the boo boo, and we bandage up the injury with care.
But what about the emotional stings and wounds that we can’t see? Don’t they deserve as much attention as physical ones?
What I’ve experienced time and again when Tapping with clients (and what any academically trained and board-certified psychologist or therapist can confirm) is that a great majority of our adult problems are rooted in unresolved emotional events from our childhoods.
That’s because the child’s mind is very much influenced by their immediate environment and can’t always correctly process the events that take place. Something simple like an embarrassing moment at school can be misinterpreted as “dangerous”.
Feeling of anger, stress, sadness, fear, or loneliness can remain with the child for long periods of time if not properly released.
Whether they are big or small, we all have emotional wounds. But what if we were able to teach our kids how to properly take care of them and heal them when they happened, so that they wouldn’t be carried into their adult lives?
Healing the emotional wounds of our children
The good news is that there ARE tools we can teach our children, and they need nothing more than what our bodies are already equipped with.
One of these tools is Tapping, of course. And we are building quite a library of resources to help kids learn how to tap. You can find a few of those at the bottom of this post.
Another tool that every single living human on the planet has is our breath.
Yes, that’s right, simply breathing in a certain way can help to reduce and even eliminate many of the negative emotions kids can experience.
Mindful breathing has been practiced for thousands of years, and is a core component of most meditation practices.
It’s also the focus of my newest children’s book, “My Magic Breath: Finding Calm Through Mindful Breathing”.
With co-author Alison Taylor and beautifully illustrated by Michelle Polizzi, this picture book will help children to find a sense of calm through the magic of breathing.
Whether read and practiced during story time, or even as a bed-time story to help your kids relax for a more peaceful sleep, this book is a wonderful tool to have on hand.
In a fun and interactive way, “My Magic Breath” will teach youngsters how to use their breathing to make themselves feel better. And the more we can help kids release their negative emotions and stress, the better off they’ll be as they grow into adults!
Until next time,
Keep Tapping!

Tapping Meditation: Clearing Distractions and Creating Focus
“You can’t do big things if you’re distracted by small things.”
I saw this quote the other day, and it really resonated with me.
What does it bring up for you? Is your life full of too many ‘small’ things that crowd out what you really, really want?
We’ve never had so many ‘small’ things in our lives as we do now. Social media, mobile phones, emails, constant beeping & pinging, and who knows what else!
Just a bunch of little things that can easily rob us of our future – of the big things we want to accomplish, create, and enjoy fully.
So if part of you today is thinking, “It’s time to focus. It’s time to get this thing DONE!” then I have a resource that might just help.
It’s a free Tapping Meditation called “Clearing Distractions and Creating Focus”.
Now, here’s the tricky part about this meditation – you’ve got to take a second to focus, and actually use it for it to work!
But if you take the short 12 minutes to do it, you’ll soon discover that your energy and focus will be laser-like.
If you find it useful, make a habit of using it quickly before you start your workday or any big project.
Used cumulatively, this practice will give you EXPONENTIAL results!
It’s my gift to you today. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to focus, and I just can’t wait to see the incredible things you bring into the world when you do!
And I’ve made it available for you to download and keep, so you can have it on your phone or iPod when you need it most.
(I’ve also included the transcript if you’d rather read and tap along.)
And please do let me know your experience of this meditation.
If you’re new to Tapping, and realize that NOW is the best time to get started, (and focus on creating magic in the world) you can learn the basics in minutes here.
AND… my NY Times bestselling book, “The Tapping Solution” helps you clear out all that mental clutter so you can effortlessly focus. If you haven’t yet, you can pick up your copy here.

Tapping Meditation: Releasing Resentment
Resentment, subtle or overt, eats away at our soul.
It’s an energetic drain that stops us from living our happiest, most productive lives.
Resentment is real. It happens. And it’s OK to feel it.
It’s a sign that something needs to change. But it’s NOT OK to hold on to it for long.
