That One Summer Release Day Blitz

He sure could kiss.
As the countdown to the new millennium begins, there is one thing everyone agrees on: no one wants to be in Onslow for New Year’s Eve.
So that can only mean one thing: road trip!
No longer the mousey, invisible, shy girl from years ago, Tammy Maskala is finally making up for all those lost summers. A new year with new friends, which astoundingly includes the bossy boy behind the bar, Chris Henderson.
She likes her new friends (at least most of them), so why does she secretly feel so out of place?
After chickening out on the trip, a last-minute change of heart sees Tammy racing to the Onslow Hotel, fearing she’s missed her chance for a ride. The last thing she expected to meet was a less-than-happy Onslow Boy leaning against his black panel van.
Now the countdown begins to reach the others at Point Shank before the party is over and the new year has begun. Alone in a car with only the infuriating Chris Henderson, Tammy can’t help but feel this is a disastrous start to what could have been a great adventure. But when the awkward road trip takes an unexpected turn, Tammy soon discovers that the way her traitorous heart feels about Chris is the biggest disaster of all.
Fogged up windows, moonlight swimming, bad karaoke and unearthed secrets; after this one summer nothing will ever be the same again.

Bare Hearts by Devon Youngblood
This was a heart warming and sweet second edition to Ms. Youngblood's Coming Home series. This is Parker and Lily's story of finding love no matter what obstacles or secrets get thrown in your way. Again I love that Ms. Youngblood wrote the story with both Parker and Lily's POV's instead of just one because for me I get a better feel for the characters that way, which I absolutely loved the characters, Lily for overcoming some horrid obstacles in her young life and becoming a better person instead of letting them destroy her and Parker with his wild side, there is just something about a bad boy, yet even though he had a wild and daring side he also had a tender and loving side that really shines whenever he is around Lily. This is a must read and I feel you really don't have to read the first one to understand this one, which is totally another plus for me, this is a must be on everyone's TBR book that I feel everyone will be able to enjoy over and over. So happy reading and I hope you enjoy getting to know Parker and Lily as much as I did.

In Praise of THE DREAMSTONE:“The Dreamstone, by Mikey Brooks, is a wild stallion of a story: fast, thrilling, and unpredictable. I was hooked in chapter one. Excerpt from: THE DREAMSTONE:Parker watched as the ambulance with his mother inside drove away. He had expected the medics to barrel down the street with sirens blaring and lights flashing, but instead they drove calmly. The cold night air hurt his throat, at least, he told himself it was the air. Whenever Parker tried to hold back his emotions he got a pain way back in his throat. Kaelyn held his hand, but it didn’t really help. All he could think about was Mab and how she’d taken his mom. The former ruler of Dreams was vicious and cruel. He had seen what she was capable of when she cut the arm off Mentia, the psychotic clown that chased him and Kaelyn through the vaults. The only thing that guy did was laugh at her. Parker could only imagine the things Mab could do to his mom. Now that Fyren was gone, Mab had a host of nightmares at her command. He shuddered, thinking about the creatures he had seen during the battle in Éadrom. “Parker, we’ll find her,” Kaelyn said, trying to comfort him.“How are we supposed to do that?” he snapped. Kaelyn pulled back, and immediately he felt bad. Heck, she had just lost everything she had ever owned—another gift from the nightmares of Dreams. They had burnt down her house and almost burnt the two of them in the process. Kaelyn had nothing. Not even a picture to remind herself of her dead parents. Yet here she was, the one comforting him. It wasn’t as if his mom was dead, she was just kidnapped, or dreamnapped. “Look, I’m sorry.”She gave a smile. “It’s okay. Really. I understand.”“Parker,” his dad called from the car. Parker turned to see his dad was ready to leave. What a jerk! Parker glared at him.His dad lowered his cell phone for a second. “Look, I’ve talked it over with Zelda and I want you to come and stay with me for a while—at least until your mom is better.” “No thanks.” Parker turned his back.“Parker, I don’t have time to argue. Remember—I’m still your father.”“You sure act like it.”“I’m acting like it now.”“You can’t even get out of your car!” Parker shouted. “You can’t even put down your freaking phone. Mom just went off in an ambulance, and you’re more concerned with your stupid work. I’m staying here! I’m not going with you!”“You’ve got ten minutes to get a bag.” His dad went back to his phone, not giving a sign he had heard a word Parker said.Parker turned on Zelda. “Did you say I would go with him?”Kaelyn’s aunt stepped back, worry crossing her face. “Parker, he’s your dad, and who else is there?”“You can stay with me. Where else are you going to go?” The second he said it Parker wished he hadn’t; or at least tried to sound more tactful. He knew that Kaelyn was handling the fire okay, but Zelda was on the brink of tears anytime someone mentioned the fire or what she lost in it. “I’m sorry . . . really . . . .”“Parker, I understand, so please, don’t apologize.” Zelda tried to reassure him with a smile. It didn’t really work. Her face was still smudged with black soot, and there were visible tear lines down her cheeks. He at least had a place to go, but Kaelyn and Zelda were homeless. “Your place is with your dad, our place is . . . .”“Where are we going, Zelly?” Kaelyn asked. They waited for an answer but Zelda only shrugged.“Look, if I have to go to my dad’s there’s no reason you can’t stay here. Really, my mom wouldn’t mind. Anyway, it doesn’t matter where I sleep. I have to get back to Dreams.”Zelda looked concerned. “Are you sure, Parker?”“Dead sure! My mom may be a cold hearted person in the courtroom, but she’s at least human at home—well, when she’s not turning off my video games.”“Can you call your house when you’re ready to go back?” Kaelyn asked.“You can count on it, Kae. We’ve got to talk to Gladamyr—I need to find my mom.”“I know.” Kaelyn gave him a hug.Parker looked at both Kaelyn and Zelda. He could tell having a place to stay tonight brought them a little comfort, but he still wished he could stay. He thought of his friend and physiatrist, Dr. Gates. He was like the father his own would never be. He wished right now Dr. Gates were here. “Can you explain to Gates what’s going on when he decides to get his butt over here?”Kaelyn smiled. “You can count on it.” “Come inside and I’ll show you around. Apparently I’ve got ten minutes.”_______________________________________________________________ [image error]

Chapter 1
One, two, give the devil his due, three, four, rotten to the core, five, six, kick against the pricks, seven, eight, how much longer can I take? Bayerly Easton’s mood was taking a dark turn. Discord was proving to be hard to find. “What rhymes with ten?” She asked Arabelle.
Arabelle looked at her as if she had lost her mind. “Ten? This isn’t kiddie school, why do you need a rhyme?”
Bayerly did not answer her. Arabelle shrugged her shoulders and responded with any word she could think of off the top of her head. “Hen, den, glen, pen-”
“Pen! Poison pen!” Bayerly had an ah-hah moment. “I bet I have one of those.”
Arabelle looked as if she did not want to ask where Bayerly’s mind was because it did not sound like it was sane.
“Let’s find these damn things before you start singing a lullaby,” Arabelle grumbled. Bayerly snorted.
They had spent a good portion of the day trying to find any scrap of information on Discord. It had been a roadblock after roadblock until a witch suggested a certain group of imps that were in contact with Discord.
Bayerly was itching for action, if she could not have Discord, she would take the next best thing, a cohort.
“They should be this way,” Arabelle answered. She glanced down at the highlighted path beneath her feet created by her tracking spell.
“If you could make a tracking spell for Discord we would not be in this position.” Bayerly brushed past Arabelle.
“Excuse me; what do you expect me to do? It doesn’t work for her.” Arabelle looked close to snapping her fingers.
Bayerly could feel the irritation; it was gradually growing stronger the more this search dragged on. She waved her hand for Arabelle to pass her around the corner of the building. At the same time, multiple screams rang out. Arabelle immediately reached for her knife tucked into her boot. Bayerly readied her hands and the tattoos simmered under her skin. The closer they got, the louder the sounds became. “They are being noisy for imps,” Arabelle said.
Bayerly placed her finger over her lip, making a shush motion. She had a feeling it was not the imps that were causing the ruckus. Together, they peeked around the corner; it was not what they were expecting. A small frisson of excitement welled up in Bayerly.
She straightened and strode into the chaos. Arabelle scrambled after her.
“Hello boys, we need to talk.” Bayerly’s grin turned devilish.
She stood before a group of hyenas. As if nature did not know how to decide, it created both hyena and man in one body. They were grotesque beings.
“I have to say I am curious about something. It has not escaped my notice how many monsters are running around here as half animal and half normie. Say, did someone have a little too much fun with the experiments?” Bayerly dared them to retaliate.
The smallest one stepped forward and bared his sharp teeth, growling. Another one snapped his teeth and it shut up the growler. “What do you want?” He snarled.
Bayerly smiled. “We are looking for a group of imps. They were here. About yea high.” Arabelle answered while mocking the height of the imps. Bayerly circled the hyena. She was tightly wound.
The hyena gave a large burp and patted his stomach. “I think they went thataway.” He pointed over his shoulder. The others snickered.
Arabelle did a face palm. Bayerly fought to control the red that was starting to cloud her eyes. A thought occurred to her. “One more question,” she said.
“Whattya want?” He asked with annoyance.
“Why are you out? There is still daylight.” Bayerly inched closer. She could see the sweat break out across his forehead.
Hyenas stuck to nighttime hours, they did not roam during the daylight. Here they were causing mischief while the sun was still out. It was known hyenas surfaced when there was trouble coming, usually to join in the mayhem and stir up their routines.
“What is it with these questions? Next, you are going to ask me what kind of underwear I wear,” he chuckled, baring his teeth.
Bayerly did not respond and neither did Arabelle. “Tough crowd. We heard the air was good here,” said the hyena while he crossed his arms. Arabelle tossed her long brown hair over her shoulder, which exposed her Nightwatcher tattoo on her collarbone. “Well, well, what do we have here? Nightwatchers. I wonder if you need to be salted.” His voice dropped low at the end. It was not too low, however, for Bayerly and Arabelle to hear.
“Bay, I think you can let go now,” Arabelle directed to Bayerly.
“With pleasure,” Bayerly said before lunging. The hyena’s screams broke through the silence.
------------------
“How long are you going to avoid talking to me?”
Camden glared at Will from across the hall in the front lobby. His answer was obvious.
“Silent treatment it is. I said I was coming back for you.” Will threw his hands up in frustration. He had remained unscathed during the fight two hours before with the exception of the telltale pieces of cobwebin his hair. Camden, on the other hand, was not so lucky. His clothes were shredded in pieces and hisusual neat blond hair hung down in muddy, sweaty clumps. A long cut trailed down his chest and over hisabdomen and a blackish blue bruise was already starting to show under his eye.
Camden’s ethereal angelic looks resembled more of a dark angel with a dirt-smeared face, thin, tight lips, and stormy gray eyes. He pointed his finger angrily in Will’s direction. “You-”
The heavy front door creaked open behind them. Bayerly and Arabelle came in from outside, they halted spying Will and Camden.
“You made it back before us,” said Bayerly. She recovered from the surprise of bumping into Will and Camden. The door closed behind them with a loud booming thud. She looked unsure of what to say. Will was momentarily distracted. With her raven black hair, snow white smooth skin, Bayerly looked ravishing. Her cheeks were flushed and her piercing bluish white eyes looked alive. “How was your assignment tonight?”
Bayerly shared a tiny smile with Arabelle. “It was more exciting than we expected. More action than wewere looking for. It looks as though you guys had a more exciting night than we did. What happened?” Bayerly noticed Camden’s appearance and Will’s lack of one.
“Nothing good from the looks of it,” Arabelle chortled. “How did you manage to not get a single scratch?” She tossed the question in Will’s direction.
“Camden is a little sensitive at the moment,” said Will, clicking his tongue.
Camden stabbed his finger furiously in Will’s direction. Bayerly half expected him to burst into flames.
“A little sensitive, easy to say coming from someone who wasn’t wrapped and used as bait for the spider-”
“I told you my plan-”
“After the fact!” Camden gritted through his teeth. He roughly ran his hand through his hair.
Without turning away from the mirror hanging above the side table, Arabelle muttered more to herself. “That’s how.” She wiped the speck of imaginary dirt from her cheek. Her chocolate colored eyes twinkled.
“Why didn’t you use your persuasion thingy?” Bayerly asked, waving her hand in front of him. As a cambion, his talent is persuasion. Camden can convince anyone to do anything, even the most stubborn strong-hearted one.
“First of all don’t mock my talent by adding the word thingy after it and second of all it’s hard to use it when you are wrapped, bound, and gagged for the spider queen,” Camden glared at Will again. If his talent was fire, Will would probably have gone up in flames by now. “You wouldn’t have been able to help yourself either, if it had been you instead of me. Your tattoos would have been moot.”
Bayerly flinched. She understood what Camden was saying, Will struck him when he least expected it rendering him vulnerable. If it had been her, she probably could not have called up her weapons using her tattoos. However, she would have called a weapon up afterwards to kick his butt.
As if he knew the direction of her thoughts, Will subconsciously turned his body inward to ward off any attacks. “I wouldn’t do that to you,” he mouthed to Bayerly before turning to Camden, she squinted in response. “I told you I had it under control,” sniffed Will. He crossed his arms in defense.
Camden brought his thumb and forefinger together with a teensy, tiny space in between. “That close, that close and I could have been the new spider king,” he shuddered, thinking of the possibility of that particular outcome.
“Eh, it wouldn’t have been so bad. She was okay looking, if you look past her eight hairy legs, beady red eyes, and the saliva covered fangs, I think you two would have hit it off. ” Will gestured with his shoulders and Bayerly turned on him with a frown. He gave her a sheepish look. It was no secret that Will was cocky. As a nephilim, he may be strong and quick, but his mouth did not have a shut off valve. It was an endless source of aggravation in the most inopportune times. He was her cocky nephilim, she thought with a resigned sigh before shaking her head.
Camden sputtered some not so nice choice words, the corners of his mouth quirked up letting Will know he was not angry, before storming up the stairs. It was hard to stay mad at Will’s logics. His muddy boots imprinted in the squeaky-clean tiles and into the carpet lined steps.
“Mom isn’t going to be happy about that,” Arabelle called out after Camden, who responded with a throw up of his hands.
“It was a close call,” Will admitted, whispering to Bayerly when he assumed Camden was out of earshot. He looked at her with a wince. “It wouldn’t have been pretty to watch him turn into a spider demon.”
Arabelle snickered. She tossed her long dark hair to the side, wearing the well-practiced Cheshire grin that only Arabelle could pull off. Her dark eyes sparkled in amusement.
“I would have paid to see that. Maybe it would shake the stick out of his-”
Bayerly silenced Arabelle with a look. She did not doubt her words. Arabelle was a witch, literally and figuratively.
She turned to Will again; a small regretful expression hovered on his face. She cocked her head to the side, thoughtfully considering. Bayerly knew Misha’s death weighed heavily on his mind; it was no different than how she felt with her family.
------------------
He knew she understood him. They were alike him and her. He wanted the distraction of fighting. It was easier to not think and keep going, burying himself in killing and hunting. The others would go along with him because they knew it was what he wanted. Even Camden, who stuck by his side up until the moment he knocked him unconscious and used him for bait for the spider queen looking for a replacement for spider king, giving Will a chance to catch her unaware for the swift kill.
------------------
Will shrugged his jacket off and slung it over the banister. Arabelle pulled the elastic out of her long, brown hair, shaking it loosely. Will gently tugged the crook of Bayerly’s arm, pulling her aside. Her stomach did flip-flops; it always did when she was in close proximity with Will. A quiver of delight flared in her chest. She ran her hands along his bare arms. She could have sworn his green eyes grew darker, her breath hitched in her throat. His caramel streaked curls fell into his face when he leaned down.
“Did you get closer to finding Discord?” His voice was husky. It was not what she had expected him tosay. Talk about mood destroyer. He had reminded her of what she was trying to do before she came back to Croftfield. The excitement squashed, the subject of Discord shook her out of her daze.
When Bayerly had found out the truth that Discord, Goddess of Chaos, killed her family, she wanted nothing more than Discord’s death on her hands. They were hunting each other. She knew deep down this would not be over until one of them was dead. She would prefer it was not her.
“No, she’s disappeared. She cannot be in Avadonia or Mount Olympus because they know what she did. There is not a whisper of her here. Osden must be with her too because Arabelle couldn’t get the tracking spell to work for him either.”
“We will get her,” his voice was sharp. Will was determined to stay one-step ahead of Discord.
Bayerly did not want to talk about her anymore. “You have cobweb on your hair,” she giggled whenWill lowered his head to her level. Only Will had the ability to make her sound like a giggly normie. She did not like that. It was a struggle around Will not to feel weak with how she felt about him after so long of keeping herself closed off. Running her hand through his soft caramel locks, he brought his head up in time to meet her at eye level, nose to nose. She could not breathe; her heart thumped slowly, and unmistakably, a purr sounded in her throat. His green eyes burrowed into hers, as if he could see into her soul with a gaze.
“God, you are beautiful,” he whispered. Being Ares’s daughter and his mini carbon copy gave her a certain look, she was aware of it, and it felt natural to her. It came in handy in missions. However, when Will said it, she felt special. She wanted to say the same to him because with his messy caramel hair and beautiful mossy green eyes he was hot. But his dimples distracted her.

In between writing and nail biting she can be found with her nose in books or singing the latest Fresh Beat song with her kids.

“Shh. You need sleep. Nightmares have been keeping you up. You’re exhausted. Wish I could be there to hold you through them, but we should arrive at the ENR base soon. It’s been too long.” His hand slipped to the nape of my neck. “Once we reach land, no one will keep us apart.”
Heat surged to my face and I leaned into his hands. “Nightmares? How did you…oh, your sister. Great. Guess Raeth can’t keep a secret.” I knew Raeth only told her brother out of concern, but I’d still chastise my best friend when I got back to my room.
“She just confirmed what I’d felt through our bond.” Ryder drew a circle around the tip of my nose with his. “What you been dreaming’ about?”
His closeness weakened my resolve to keep it from him. He’d think I was crazy. “Tell me,” he urged, brushing his lips across mine in a feather-light touch.
My breath hitched and the memories of beatings and torture faded when his thumb glided down my cheek. “It doesn’t matter. Kiss me.”
His lips claimed mine with a too long-suppressed urgency. He needed and wanted me as much as I did him. If we didn’t make it to land soon, they’d have mutiny on their hands.
I inhaled his scent, absorbing it into my soul. Even after all this time beneath the sea, a hint of Earth remained and I savored the aroma. He’d always smell the same to me. A musky, earthy smell, with a hint of freedom. The aroma wrapped around my body like a shield of strength.
Steps thumped down the corridor and he broke the kiss. “Tell me. Before we have to go.”
I panted and shook my head. From the moment we’d met, he twisted me up inside until I’d share whatever he wanted to know. “Images mostly. My mother, my father. I never see his face, but I see hers.” I suppressed a shudder. “None of it makes sense. It’s almost like I feel physical pain, but I can’t see the memory.”
Ryder’s eyes narrowed. “What’s Gordon been doing to you during those sessions?”
“Gordon? Nothing. He’s been helping me remember things. He says I’ve been reprogrammed. He’s trained in opening the mind back up and he thinks I could remember something that would help the rebellion.”
Ryder glanced down the hall. “Maybe so, but I don’t like you suffering. Mighty easy for him to push you into helping. But you need to know when to back off. You been training so much and been working with Captain Gordon, you haven’t gotten any rest.”
“Maybe that’s because I don’t want to.” I stared up at him. “I’m frightened, Ryder. Terrified my mother’s programmed me into being some kind of weapon.”
“I won’t let that happen.” He kissed me again then rested his forehead against mine. “We, just the two of us, need to find some time alone.”
I struggled to stay calm, to not let my frustration and jealousy out. I failed. “The last time I tried to take some time off, you were busy with Mart and her training. Can’t you train with someone else, like me? Why does it always have to be her?”
“Jealous?” The side of his lip quirked up into a teasing grin.
Yes! “No! No more than you are of Gordon.”
He straightened, his hand moving down from my neck to my lower back. “Let’s not do this. It’s late. I don’t want to argue.” Hugging me, he lifted me into the air until I was at eye level then he nuzzled my neck. “Rather do other things with you than fight.”
A giggle slipped from my lips.
“Love that sound.” Ryder nipped my earlobe.
“What sound?”
“You happy. Someday, we’ll go to that Resort Territory of yours,” Ryder slid his nose down the side of my neck, “where we can laugh all day.” His tongue traced the path his nose had just made. “Swim naked in that lake of yours.”
A guard stomped along the metal grate floor and halted a few meters away. “Hey, you two. Lights out in five. Don’t make me throw you in the brig.”
My head still spun from Ryder’s words. He gently lowered me to the ground. My knees shook, but I managed to remain upright.
Ryder scowled.
“Now,” the guard ordered, his face grim and determined.
Ryder growled low in his chest then kissed my cheek. “Until later,” he whispered.

When he probed with more questions about what I looked for in query letters, I told him I liked romance novels and I basically looked for potential book boyfriends.
“Book boyfriends?” He chuckled out loud. As I watched, his chest moved to the rhythm of his laugh. “Really?” He took his last bite and chugged his coffee.
“Yes…really.” I had already finished my plate since I was too nervous to talk.
“Is that like for people who can’t get one in real life?” He was totally amused by this notion.
“No…silly,” I giggled. “Readers read books to help them escape from the daily routine of life. Many of these romance books have a swoon-worthy, gorgeous guy with really nice abs and a six pack, who can deliver wild, hot sex.” Just the thought alone made me turn red and I froze when he gave me a heated look. Then, his eyes concentrated on my lips, shifted to my breasts, then back up to my eyes when I said ‘wild, hot sex.’ I just described him and what he could potentially do.
Gravitating toward me, his eyes locked lustfully on mine. His lips were just inches away as they parted to speak and I didn’t know how he got so close to me. “I would like to be your book boyfriend,” he said with the hottest sound that could sing out of his lustrous, lick-able mouth. The puff of his breath on my lips sizzled way down to my sex. He reached out to my face, his thumb sensually sliding, feather light to touch my bottom lip with one long, slow stroke. As I watched his tongue glide over his bottom lip at the same time, I quivered beyond control.
Completely dumbfounded, I sat there staring at him and in my mind, I had already taken off my clothes for him. Blinking because that was all I could do, I wanted to say yes, but my pride and my head knew better and stopped me. Suddenly, he broke his gaze and it felt like he had just dumped ice water over my head. “Is that what a book boyfriend would say and do?” he chuckled as he picked up our plates and took them to the kitchen.
What just happened? I was almost certain my face was deep red, because I felt it down to my toes.

M. Clarke aka Mary Ting resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book-No Bullies Allowed.

About the Author
[image error] This is the segment where you learn a little more about who I am, so here's what I can tell you: I drink copious amounts of vitamin water placed precariously close to my laptop while writing. These are two healthy habits I have no intention of breaking. I'm a transplant living in the south, but I was born in the 70's to a military dad who moved us around the world.
When I'm not writing (which is all the time), I'm hunting down Indie music, watching movies, reading, eating Tex-Mex, discovering new ways to humiliate myself bowling, and burning up my laptop battery on the Internet. I have a relaxed, easy-going personality and don't like drama. I live with a cat who thinks she is a dog, or a goat (she eats plastic, so I'm not sure which).
Throughout my life, I've had insomnia. Counting sheep never worked and eventually I would imagine those sheep were the sole source of food after an apocalyptic battle where only thousands survived. I made up stories in a futile attempt to bore myself to sleep. The problem was, I got so wrapped up in my "head stories" that I would continue them through the following nights, changing it up each time to make it more exciting. Eventually, I started writing my ideas down - creating short stories, and then I discovered my love for poetry.
It's almost embarrassing how many spiral notebooks and stacks of paper I have of poetry and lyrics.</ div>
Another passion: digital art. I design all my book covers, marketing, and series art. I'm a very visual person and pursued photography as an avid hobby for many years.
I am not a YA author (I feel like I have to state this only because I've had a few people ask), but I think it's wonderful there are so many books available to teens in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal.
I am finally doing what I have always wanted to do: giving my characters a pulse through writing full time. I focus on adult urban fantasy romance, but I don't like labels and I enjoy blending genres to break out of the confines of predictability.
But it's what I love to do.

Now that he has enjoyed a bit of success and attention, his wife (Jennifer) comes back and suddenly decides that they should pursue marriage counseling. Eager to win her back, the main character agrees to anything and the counselor asks them to create something beautiful for each other. Our main character decides on Our Story, a love story that will not only win his wife back, but can also double as his next novel.
Over the course of writing Our Story, the main character realizes that winning Jennifer back might not be the smartest thing for his heart. In fact, he starts to appreciate the true meaning of the word love, which he finds in Emma.

“I wasn’t wrong about us,” she said, her voice hard and determined. But because there were words attached to that voice of hers, I didn’t place a whole lot of trust in them. “Morgan, I love you. No matter what happens, whether you hate me and never speak with me or see me again, I will always love you and the time we shared. And because of this love, I will always be waiting for you, just like Olivia waits until the end of time for Oliver. I’ll be there, always waiting, always for you.” She smiled at that point, and the sadness and doubt from earlier was gone.
“Goodbye, Emma.”
“Bye, Morgan.”
