Cover Reveal_IS THE GRASS REALLY GREENER?

Hey, thanks for stopping by the blog today.  I started on April 11th bringing you excerpts, character reveals, and even allowing those characters to host blog days. You have left comments, and seen the character depictions. The only thing that you have not been exposed to, is the cover. I have battled with myself on what the image would be. THANKFUL THURSDAY_EDITORS

The past four Thursdays have been throwback Thursday. Today I would like to make it a thankful Thursday.

On my journey of "authorship" over the past year, I have learned a lot from various people. Recently, I decided to take my writings to a new level. No longer publishing with my previous company, I am embarking on the journey to self-publish, my third title direct to Kindle, and the other sites. With this book, that I have been blogging about for a few months now, I chose to have it professionally edited.

Followers, are the key to a blogger's success. My success is defined by the fact, that you all continue to visit, and support me. Today I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to my followers. I am honored that you would take the time, from your busy lives to read my posts, and subscribe to my blog. It is an inspiration to me, to continue to strive to give my best.

I first started this blog a year and two months ago, and I had no clue what I would blog about, or if anyone would be interested in what I had to say. I started out with topics on relationships, fitness, my natural hair transition, and random pictures. You have hung in here with me, as I have worked to find "my voice." As 2013 came in, I switched the blog focus to books, (my first love since I was a little girl), inspirational messages, and random topics on Wednesday; and once again you have hung in here with me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today I would like to say Happy Birthday to the most wonderful man that I know. I don't say this because he's my husband, and truly my best friend...but he really is the most wonderful, and awesome man I know.

He readily gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, even when they are not deserving of it. My husband will give his very last to look out for others, even to the detriment of himself. He is a fierce protector of me and our children; he infuses us with strength, wisdom, and inspiration. He often has words of advice for others, but only if they seek it. Marvelous is a deeply spiritual man, but he is not one to flaunt it in the face of others, or judge them. His relationship with the Lord is serious and personal, something he holds near and dear to his spirit.

He can sing, dance, create wonderful works with his carpentry hands, he's a math wiz, and all around intelligent guy. He's handsome, he's fine, he's silly, and wise beyond his years. He knows how to make others laugh even when they don't want to. He can brighten up the darkest days for anyone he goes around. And when he enters others lives, he truly does strive to make it better than it was before he entered it. His children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews absolutely adore him. And he has a way of making me and my daughter feel like the most beautiful women in the world.

He has taught me sacrifice, how to love, the true meaning of friendship, he has taught me faith, and self-belief, and he has taught me about the gifts I have to offer the world. He sees the good in people, and helps others identify and enhance their gifts. I call him Marvelous, because he truly is.

THROWBACK THURSDAY_1973

They say 1969 was a very good year, but I say it doesn't get better than '73. Yours truly was a gift to this world in March of that year.










Yes, we're taking it back...way back. Back to a time of bell-bottoms, halter tops, platform shoes, fly-away collars, and afros for the dudes, and afro puffs for the chicks.








Other wonderful things occurred that year, that I wish I could bring forward into this century, such as the price of a home and the cost of a gallon of gas. Check it out below:

Schoolhouse Rock premiered on ABC-TV. I grew up on that show. Fave songs from the show: Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here & Conjunction Junction What's Your Function. (Maybe that's where my love of writing stems from...hmmmm).George Foreman TKO's Joe Frazier for heavyweight boxing title.The comic strip "Hagar the Horrible" made its debut.
