HAVE YOU EVER?
Have you ever had a horrible Christmas where you didn't get anything you wanted, or nothing seemed to go your way? Have you ever received a gift that you just didn't know what to do with? Have you ever got a partial gift? As children it's hard to have that appreciative attitude in the face of disappointment, even though we were taught to. But there have been those Christmas gifts that have challenged us to uphold that attitude. Take a peek »

CHILDREN'S ANTICS AT CHRISTMAS TIME
Kids often say and do the most hilarious things at Christmas time. It amazes me when we look back on it. For the most part we tend to get upset when they perform random acts, which break household rules. But if you're anything like me and my husband, you can't help but laugh at them later on. Today I'm presenting a few things my and my friends' children have said or done at Christmas time.

There he is tasked with overseeing the excavation of human remains buried more than twenty-five years earlier; remains that will bring to the surface cold cases, a painful past and memories Lincoln had long since forgotten.

SO AMAZING
Today I thought of various posts I wanted to share. And I even thought about keeping it light because it's Friday. But it was placed heavily on my heart to share this email that I received, because it spoke to me and I only pray it helps someone else out there.
A friend of mine sends daily emails that she receives from Joel Osteen and I am often blessed by them. Today's email was powerful for me; today's email was simply this:
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 4:19, NIV)TODAY’S WORD Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by the challenges and obstacles we face. But, we have to remember that God equips for every season of life. God will not allow you to face Goliath, He will not allow a major challenge and then just give you a little favor, a little strength, a little wisdom. No, God equips you with exactly what you need to overcome every obstacle. What you have in your hand may not seem like much, but remember, David had victory with only five small stones! Know today that you have been empowered to accomplish every dream that God has placed in your heart. Oftentimes, the reason you have a huge obstacle is because you have a huge future. You may be facing a big challenge, but you’re a big person serving a big God. Know that no matter what you face, God will meet your needs. You are equipped, you are empowered, and you are headed toward victory in every area of your life! A PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, thank You for meeting my needs according to Your riches in glory. I shake off heaviness today. I shake off worry and doubt, and I put on a garment of praise knowing that You are working things out for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.
He knows what we need before we even need it, and He sends it to us in some of the most unexpected ways. He is so amazing!

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
It's my favorite time of the year...the holidays, from Thanksgiving to New Year's I'm usually ecstatic. But of course, Christmas is my all time favorite. I feel like a kid again, amazed at all the bright lights, the Christmas décor on the homes and the businesses. I listen to Christmas music until they just won't play it anymore. And I love seeing the Christmas lists made by the children posted everywhere. Well, this year I've made a Christmas list of my own. Like to hear it, hear it go:The gift of lifeMy wonderful husband, three beautiful kids, and four gorgeous grandkidsTo catch Santa eating my cookies! To see my sister from another mother (Sherry)See Christmas carolers at my door singingOne of my books hits the NY Times Best Seller's List (I'm not choicy about which book). ;)Visit to New York to see any play on BroadwayKindle Fire HD

ARE YOU RELYING ON HIS GRACE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON?
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.During the holiday season people often become stressed out as we face our regular daily routines, with extra responsibilities added on. Holiday shopping, parties, additional expenses, and so much more come with this time of year. And yet, our incomes have not increased. What to do? This time of giving, joy, and love can become burdensome as we attempt to live up to expectations we have placed on ourselves. Some have lost a loved one and find it hard to cope during this time, while still others are struggling to maintain after losing a job, car, or even their homes. I typically have joy this season more than any other, although I am usually struggling with some financial burden. How am I able to maintain this joy in spite of my struggles? I search inside my heart and find the love and the peace that are synonymous with this time of year. I recall the true meaning of Christmas and hold on to that joy. I also find joy in the simple things in life...people caroling (something I would love to do, but can't find a group of people interested), Christmas songs, holiday lights and decorations, the laughter of the little children, window shopping, and the overall spirit of the season. It keeps me in a peaceful state of mind. I also reflect on the my victories throughout the current year, and focus on gratitude. I have so many things to be thankful for, and when I focus on those I can't help but smile. If things become overwhelming I have to rely on His grace. When I can do this, then I am truly strong, and I know all will be well. I wish you and yours the best this holiday season and pray that you too, will rest in His grace, and have comfort and joy. A FLUKE? OR THE POWER OF KDP SELECT...
On Wednesday I notified you of my decision to go with KDP Select, for the next 90 days. I wanted to see what it would do to my sales numbers for Is The Grass Really Greener? Well I went, I tried, and I saw. Yesterday, was the first day that I used KDP Select to promote my book. I thought it was a wonderful way to kick off Black Friday. When you enroll in KDP select, you must choose the dates you want the free promo to run. I selected yesterday and today, therefore, it rolled over to free automatically at midnight PST. When I first checked yesterday morning after 9 AM there were 18 downloads of the free book. I continued to check throughout the day and watched the numbers increase. I was excited because although I have given away free books before I never had an accurate count, but I know that it didn't do too well.
As the day progressed I continued to check my numbers. I was impressed when I went on Amazon to copy my book's description for a FB post I was creating, and saw that I had actually broken through the Top 100 ranks. I've never been in the top 100 anything on Amazon! Yes, this girl is doing the "running man." LOL!!
And yes, I know the book's free, but it was free on launch day and didn't do that well. As time went on the ranking continued to get better.
Here's one of the pictures that I saw when I looked in the late evening:
#32 in Top 100 Free Urban Fiction#3 in Top 100 Free Contemporary Urban Fiction As the evening progressed into night, I noticed that I had 213 downloads and the book had gone to the following spots in Urban Fiction:
#2 in Top 100 Free Contemporary Urban Fiction
#27 in Top 100 Free Urban Fiction This could be all in part because it's Black Friday, or it could be the power of KDP Select. I don't know and I'm not sure if I will learn. But for the moment, I'm enjoying it and I can't wait to see where this roller coaster ride will lead next. Oh the night ended at 248 downloads in the same spots as above at 11:59 PM EST. I woke up to 306 downloads. So we still have this last day remaining. If you haven't gotten your free copy, visit here and download it. Today's the last day. http://amzn.to/1goOFRd
