5 – wait – 6 things about #MysteryProject (my untitled WIP)

Accepting the challenge the uber talented SL Jennings put up – for me to post 5 things about my current WIP (work in progress):

5 THINGS ABOUT #MYSTERYPROJECT

1. I think it has a name but I’m waiting to post it because I’m finicky that way.

2. Beta Readers have so far LOVED it or been lackluster in their applause. Massive rewriting is occurring.

3. I tried to write less sex but… lets face it. It’s overflowing with sex.

4. I guaranteed you that this book will drive you nuts until about 65%. Then, *waves hands dramatically* everything will make sense.

5. It is a dirty, rotten book. Sexual. Backstabbing. Slutty. In the end, there is a love, and it is crazy strong, but you will question every word of it until you get there.

6. It is NOT like Sex Love Repeat. Might sound that way via the description, but trust me. Just… trust me.

I know I was only supposed to post 5… but I’m a rebel.

Sneak Peek and Progress Report: Mystery Project

I growled at him, leaning forward and biting into his neck, the taste of his skin one of sweat and salt, heat and man. Dirt and want. A far cry from the cologne and dignity I was accustomed to. “I thought you were a man of action. You nervous? Worried you can’t compete?”
He pulled my mouth from his neck. Twisted my face with his hand until I was staring full force into him. Dominant eyes, the playfulness gone. Nothing but alpha male, competitive forces at play in their depths. I’d seen the look in Brant’s eyes before. When he was attacking a problem. Going after a competitor. But never when he stared at me.
“I’m worried I’ll fuck you so well I’ll ruin you for life.”
sneak peek, Mystery Project

progress report: Day 9 of 30

current word count: 32,100

today’s goal: 2,000 words

Yesterday’s words written: 1,419

Book progress: 53% done

30 days of writing…

I have decided that I am a lazy woman. I have GOT to buckle down and write, there are too many things bumping around my head that aren’t getting down on paper.

So.. the madness is beginning. 30 days of writing. If I write every day for 30 days, there is no reason why I won’t finish Mystery Project and get through a large chunk of STILL by July 4th.

Mystery Project… I’ll write a second blog post about that. Bear with me. STILL is the expansion of the novella that I had in the Bend anthology. It is going to be a full-length, grown up standalone book. I had originally hoped to pub it in July, but it’s looking like August/September is going to hold its birthday.

Day 1 was yesterday. I wrote 2,238 words. I am giving myself a goal of 2,000 words a day. Today, I write this blog post with 2300 words already under today’s belt. It’s 9:40am. I am hoping to make today a 4,000 word day, but I’ve only had 3 or 4 of those, EVER.

I’ll be giving weekly updates on this blog. Plus posting the blurb and some excerpts as this month goes on. I’ll also need lots of encouragement. Keep me in your thoughts. I’m off to WRITE WRITE WRITE.

xoxo Alessandra

Bend: removal from Amazon and other sites

UPDATE: The below letter was prepared by the group of authors that I published Bend with. Please read it and let me know if you have any questions. At the end of the letter I have an additional comment.

***

Dear Readers and Fans,

Thank you so much for your support of the Bend Anthology.

For those of you who may not be aware yet, Bend was removed from Amazon for content violations. They cannot confirm which story was at issue, or why. I leave it to you to deduce the story that was too scorching hot to handle.

We support each other, and we will never release this anthology without each story intact, complete and as originally published. The vision of Bend will remain pure.

But part of the vision was that the anthology would be temporary. We always intended to unpublished it and republish the stories individually. This was to occur after 60 days, however, in light of recent events, this will be happening earlier. Like, this weekend.

Bend, the anthology will be pulled from all venues probably by Saturday, and that those of us who wanted to individually publish our novellas will do so. As for any story too scorching for Amazon, well I am sure that all interested parties will make every effort to please their readers.

Again, your support is our gold. Please stay with us through this transition. If you still want to get it, BN/Apple/Kobo will have it for a little while. Or you can wait and individually get the books you really want.

Very best,

The Erotica Consortium

***

I have decided NOT to offer Still, my portion of the Bend anthology, for purchase. Since Still will become a full-length book, available late this summer (projected), I will wait and publish it as one full-length novel.

I will also offer signed paperback copies of Bend on my website. That option will be available in a week or two.

Again, for the next 12-24 hours, Bend will still be available on:

Nook: http://bit.ly/StauZG

Kobo: http://bit.ly/1ixJW36

iBooks: http://bit.ly/1mNSjYr

Thank you all for your support.

Twas the Night before Release Day…

It’s difficult to describe the night before a book release. It’s like… Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve if Christmas held the sincere possibility of coals under your tree. Red hot burning coals, ones that will ignite your tree and burn down your entire home all before 7am.

There are SO many things that can go wrong. Errors in posting, publication, Amazon rankings, being blocked for adult covers (okay, maybe that’s just me). But on the other side, SO many things that can go right. At the moment, I have nervous excitement, mixed with apprehension and a side of panic attack.

Bend preorders have started to download to devices. As of 12:28am EST, I’ve gotten 32 messages from readers stating that they have it in hand. It is still not live on Amazon yet, I’m not even gonna try to venture a guess who what when or why not. BUT, within the next six hours, Bend will be available on Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Barnes and Noble. It will be 99¢ for 6 more days – then the price will quadruple. So.. if you haven’t gotten it – you should.

I am nervous. I am excited. I have read the anthology and know it kicks ass – so for once, I am not worried about reader feedback. But that doesn’t mean I will sleep tonight. I won’t.

Release days are my worst enemy and my best friend. I am so so so excited for you, the reader. *raising my spoonful of mint chocolate chip in salute* Here’s to tomorrow!!!
