Hollywood Dirt Movie UPDATES!

Casting for Hollywood Dirt's movie has begun! And I am so excited to announce the actor who is playing Cole! Meet Antonio Cupo!!! He's been in several TV movies and shows, so you may recognize him!


Also, we have a location! Filming will begin in January in Clarksdale, Mississippi! It's a small town about 90 minutes south of Memphis, and it is the perfect setting for this movie.

Do you like sports romances? Here's an interesting fact... I really don't. In fact, I think I've only ever read one -- HardBall, by CD Reiss. And that was only because I'll read anything she writes, regardless of the genre.

But when I sat down to write my latest book, a sports romance is what came out. At first I fought it. I tried to put my characters in a different world, in different jobs. I was stubborn ... trying to fit them in molds that they didn't work in.

Finally, I gave up. I followed my initial inspiration and put them where they belonged: on a baseball field.

In Moonshot, the hero of the story is Chase, a god on the field but a devil in bed, one of baseball's wildest (and hottest) players. Due to some bad behavior, he gets traded to the Yankees, a team with one hell of a bat girl: Ty. Ty has had an unconventional life. Her mother passed away when she was seven, forcing her on the road with her father, who is a pitcher for the team. She has grown up on the field, and with the players, who have become her family.

When Ty and Chase meet ... well. It's interesting.

And the story only gets more so. There is a suspenseful aspect of the story, plus smoking hot sex, a twist that will leave you reeling, and pages upon pages of glue-you-to-your seat developments.

This book ... you've got to read it. Even if you hate sports romance. And especially if you love them. Now go... grab it!

CHAPTER 1 - SOLE

The last few years have brought a lot of firsts for me. First time looking into a camera and saying a line. First time kissing a man I hated. First time falling in love with a man I hated. First time leaving my hometown. First time at Cannes. First time house-hunting. First time . . . well. If I list them all here you’ll fall asleep from the boredom. I’ll skip to today. First time I kill my husband.

Easy there. I can feel you getting all stiff in your seat. You don’t need to point out that I’m married to the Sexiest Man in America, according to People Magazine. Or that my husband and I are “just made for each other” according to Mama. Or that the man takes my breath away by just smiling at me and makes my skin heat with need by frowning. I know all of that. But the man . . . oh, I want to kill him right now.

“Cole Masten, you’ve got three minutes to get that damn bird out of our pool!” I stand on the pool deck, the pavers warm beneath my bare feet, and yell loud enough that a gardener pokes his head up and over a bush.

Cole ignores me, pushing out of the water and perching on the edge of the pool, watching proudly as Cocky swims in a half circle. Swims. I lived in the country over two decades, and I have never seen a chicken swim, not once my entire life. The first time Cole put him in the pool, I bolted out of my chair and was across half the yard, diving in fully clothed only to find out the damn bird paddled around like a duck.

“Cole.” I growl his name and he lifts his head, resting his palms on the edge of the pool and squinting up at me. Shirtless and squinting. I feel my heartbeat increase despite myself.

“Summer,” he counters.

“You got fifteen kids who are gonna be here before we know it, and I’m not having them swimming around in chicken poo water.”

“Fifteen? Who invites fifteen kids to a three-year-old’s party?”

“Get. Him. Out.”

“Shh . . .” he gently lifts Cocky out of the water and holds him to his chest. “You’re hurting his feelings.”

I’m telling you, I am going to kill him. I watch Cocky lift his tail and know, my lips not moving fast enough, what is about to happen. “Cole!” I shout, pointing my hand....

Writing Update & Anthology Announcement!

I'm at that place in writing that I always forget about. The day I finish. It's always easy to remember the struggles. The frustration. The days where I look at my husband and can't remember his name because I'm on my third day of no sleep. But today is my finish line. The easy, write three chapters and be done with this baby, final steps. I want to remember this, to cherish it. A reminder that things might seem bleak at times, but they are always balanced out by good days. In life as much as in writing. Don't forget to celebrate those good days.

I have a confession to make. I'm a horrible finisher of books. When I first wrote Blindfolded Innocence, I got SO excited by the fact that I was actually about to write a book, about to do the unthinkable, that I just rushed right through the ending. I got so many negative reviews about it, that I rewrote the ending and republished it. Then... I did the same thing with The Girl in 6E. And The Dumont Diaries. I'm a serial murderer of complete endings. But I'm working on it. I know my addiction. And I know, whatever ending comes out today, it won't be enough. I'll get beta reader feedback and editor nudges about the fact that 'readers will want more'. And some day, in March or April, I'll sit back down and add a few chapters, hit 'The End' again, but in a better fashion.

Update on this book so you don't get all confused later: I've been calling it Blue and White Baby but it will have a different title. I'm hoping to pick the title this week, after I get the images back from the cover photo shoot. In a few weeks I'll share with you the title and a blurb. It won't release until after Love, Chloe - probably in mid-June. If you go to nextnovel.com you can be notified on release day.

Now... I'm off to write. To finish. And then to do a ridiculously mature celebration dance in my pajamas.

The end of Cosmo...

Yesterday marked the end of a one-year journey: my time at Cosmopolitan.com. I had been given a fun task, to write, one episode at a time, three episodes per week, the story of a NYC girl and her hunt for love.

I created my girl: Chloe Madison, a fallen-from-grace Gossip-Girl-type who was now scraping through the city and trying to find her way (and her man). Then I started her journey.

It was an interesting ride. I didn't really know where the story was going to go, so it took some interesting side paths before settling in the right direction. And now, one full year later, Chloe's last episode posted to their site. *sniff*

I won't have to miss Chloe for long. In two weeks I will be pulling out all of her posts (156 of them!) and combing through them, rewriting her story into a full-length book. Will there be new content? Oh yeah. Will some scenes hit the trash can? Yep. Will she still have her happily-ever-after? Yes, silly. I value my life.
