Teach the World to Sing in NATURAL HARMONY

Okay, I couldn't resist. (And now you know how old I am. *wink*)

On Monday I got all squishy and reflective about my writing career and this blog and the FAB writer-friends I've made as a result...

Today I'm helping spread the word about a NEW writer-friend Kate Roth 's book coming December 30.

It's a sexy contemporary book, and it looks awesome. Check it out~

On Goodreads (Cover art by Jennifer Streif)
Suddenly named the acting president of her uncle’s record label, former pop princess Sabrina Walker is finally ready to grow up. While her professional life moves forward, she still clings to the last fragment of her past life in the form of an uncertain relationship with her manager, Beau.

When Sabrina hires handsome, young assistant, Wade Lawson, he awakens in her the hidden confidence she’s always desired. What starts as a casual affair quickly intensifies to something much more.

Sabrina must decide—return to the familiar life of an insecure one-hit-wonder, or embrace Wade and the woman his passion has helped reveal.

Natural Harmony is a stand-alone romance and the first in the Confession Records collection.

Check out the Rafflecopter (link) for a chance to WIN an advanced copy of the book!

And how about an Exclusive Excerpt?
He stepped off the elevator behind her and followed her silently as she led the way down the long dark hall to her office. She unlocked the door and walked in without turning on a light. Wade stood leaning his shoulder against the doorjamb, watching as she fumbled around in her desk drawers for only a few seconds before she retrieved the phone. A loose grin formed on her lips as she held the phone in her hand and when she looked up at him he projected a similar smile back.

Something happened when their eyes met through the dark in the place where she had hired him, the place where he had touched her arm and assured her she was the boss. Sabrina’s face fell, her tongue swiped over her bottom lip, sucking it into her mouth for a moment before letting it pop back out. Wade couldn’t breathe. Sabrina.

Her brows drew together as she stepped toward him. Wade could see her breathing picking up, shamelessly glancing at her chest. He heard himself swallow hard when she finally reached him. She looked up at him and pressed her lips together again. She’s your BOSS, his head screamed.

Sabrina’s hand moved out in front of her and Wade barely flinched at the motion. Her fingertips landed on his chest and he wanted nothing more than to sigh at the feeling, but he tried to stay cool. She was staring at his chest and her own hand as it slid down the panel of buttons on his shirt. When her hand stopped at the waistband of his black slacks, he couldn’t hold in the trembling breath that made its way out of him. Her eyes flashed up to his again. F**k it, it’s just a job, he thought.

Just as he reached to slip his hand to the back of her neck and pull her close, her cell phone blared through the office. She jumped and looked down at it in her other hand. When she looked at him she sighed with that same unnamable look in her eyes.

“It’s late,” he said.

Sabrina nodded. “And I’m drunk,” she added with a crestfallen smile.

“Right,” Wade uttered.

About Kate
In 2008, Kate Roth decided to get real about her love of writing. She signed up for a course after-hours at the local high school called "So You Want To Write A Book?" Indeed, she did! For years Kate had been dreaming up love stories in her head and she'd even managed to write a few of them down but it was that class that gave her the drive to finally do something more with her ideas.

Kate Roth's first two novels, new adult romance The Low Notes and new adult paranormal romance Reckless Radiance were released by Rebel Ink Press. Natural Harmony is her third novel and her first venture into independent publishing. She is hard at work on the next two novels in the Confession Records collection, as well as her first erotic romance, Last Resort.

Kate is inspired by music, film, art and of course other authors as well as the wealth of stories she has heard through her years as a professional hair stylist. She is a small business owner and lives in Indiana with her husband, Adam and their dog, Sampson.

Reflecting, Catching Up, and a Sweet #SALE

Over the weekend, I was thinking about my publishing career.

I met with some Indiana writers about a month ago to plan an author event here in Fall 2014, and I mentioned several writer-friends we could invite.
One of the ladies present said, "How do you know all these authors?" My answer was, "Blogging." On Amazon
I started this little blog began back in Feb. 2010 and had no idea what to do here. Since then I've met and gotten to know hundreds of amazing writers and readers.
Some are traditional, some are Indie, some are a mix.
Sept 2012-Today has been a whirlwind for me.
March 2013-Today were particularly hard--between keeping up with my schedule and keeping up with my family.
But I still love what I do!
Yesterday, I looked at all the books on the market, and I wondered, "How did I ever find my readers? What shiny stars they are in my little journey!"

More and more books are making their way into "print," and finding ways to reach readers is getting more and more interesting.
I'm glad I found you!
I'm glad I started when I did--maybe not so glad I held out for traditional as long as I did. (At times maybe wondering if my Big 6 publisher was right about the direction I "should" have taken with my books.)
The Truth About Faking was my first "hit." I hope many more will follow.
I'm still proud of its funny, sweet little story, and now that my own daughters are tweens, I'm hoping to write another book like it for them.
In honor of that book's amazing success, it's on Sale for 99 cents this week. (Already read it? Give it as a gift!)

Amazon | Barnes & Noble | iTunes | ARe
It's still a great time to be a writer, friends.
And I can't say enough how glad I am to know you! Thanks for sticking with me on this journey.
Have a great week~

Angels, Devils, and #WINNERS!!!

Y'all, I ain't gonna lie. I've been on hyper-drive since March, when I got the "bright idea" to put out my "already finished" first two books of the Dragonfly series a month apart.

Can I just tell you, writer-friends, that is NOT a good idea.

Even if the books are "finished," there's still editing to do and cover design and marketing. Oh, and did I mention marketing???

So my brain has turned rebellious teenager. It refuses to cooperate in any way, shape, or form. Basicallly, I'm taking a little mental-health break.

That being said, the lovely and talented Christine Fonesca (link) has released the LAST book in her amazing, fantastic Requiem series.

Remember me raving about Lacrimosa (link) ? Well, if you don't, I will now.

I never, ever thought I'd dig angel + demon books. But omg. This series is fantastic.

And Dominus is not only out now, it's part of the BIG 99 CENT SALE I'm participating in with the Indelibles (link).  So get it now !!!

Amazon Goofs, You #WIN!!!

I almost titled this post, "In which I have a very irritating day." (LOL!)

Yes, yesterday was one of those days, reader-friends.

Currently, I'm on the road right now, headed 12 hours south to be a part of this...

**Relocated to the Fairhope Public Library, thanks to T.S. Karen.
If you're in or around south Alabama, please come out and say Hi! I'll have books on hand for purchase, but you can bring your own for signing.

Back to yesterday... So I have to have print copies of my books on hand for this, right? No worries! I ordered them in plenty of time to be here before the trip.

The only problem was yesterday they weren't here.

OK, they were here, but nobody knew who had them. So I spent all day tracking down three boxes of books.

NOW 99 cents on Amazon! All the while Amazon never ever, ever (Taylor Swift) changed the price on Undertow to 99 cents as I programmed it to do--and as I advertised everywhere was happening...

Why?

Nobody knows!

*sigh*

These days happen, I guess.

And when I'm writer, editor, cover designer, marketer, and enforcer (aka, a self-published author), if I miss something, well, it gets missed.

So! To make it up to everyone, I'm leaving Undertow on sale through the weekend.

Yes, through Oct. 7, my lovely, favorite book will be on sale for 99 cents.

Please spread the word!

Watercolor is LIVE!

Christmas came early!

Thank Amazon and Barnes & Noble . I can't do preorders, and I have to have links for my blog tour participants...

But I couldn't wait to share it with you guys anyway--squee!!!

Watercolor is now everywhere!
On Amazon
(Isn't that a fun graphic?) I tell you guys, revising Watercolor these last several weeks reminded me of my very first days writing novels. It was my third complete book, and it has all that early joy and freshness.

It was also the book I wrote right before The Truth About Faking , and share a lot of the same humor. The heroes also have some similar qualities. Faking is more innocent than Watercolor , but you might notice a few minor similarities.

So without further ado, Grab your copy today, and be sure to let me know what you think!

WATERCOLOR Teaser Tuesday & a Cover Reveal!

We are in the home stretch leading up to the release of Watercolor on Oct. 3!!!

Who's ready for another teaser? >this girl!!!<

On Goodreads “Wait...” I remembered falling asleep in Julian's arms last night, how good it felt. His lips on my skin. “Just be quiet!”

He grinned and climbed through my window, dropping softly to the floor. I sat facing him, unsure what to do now.

“You’re lucky I had that assignment.” I let him lace our fingers. “Or I’d have been asleep.”

His blue eyes flickered to mine, and it was all I could do to stay where I was. “Would you have got up and let me in?” he asked.

I didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”

We sat for a few seconds not speaking. I couldn’t help it—I had to cover a yawn with my hand.

“You tired?” he asked, pushing one of my curls back.

“It’s almost midnight.”

“Get in,” he said, standing up. “I’ll sit beside you til you fall asleep.”

I watched as he slipped off the long-sleeved flannel shirt he wore, my brow lining as I admired his physique, standing there in only a white tee. I went to my bed, but I stopped. “You want to climb in for a few minutes?”

He grinned. “I was hoping you’d say that.”

We slid between the covers, and I turned so my back was pressed into his chest. One of his arms went around my waist, and the other was under my head. I felt him kiss the top of my shoulder, and warmth flooded my body.

“Will you fall asleep?” I asked.

“Probably.” His breath against my neck made me shiver. “But I can set my phone to vibrate early.”
He took his arms away, and I scooted around to watch him set the alarm. He slipped it in his back pocket and looked at me.

“It’s nice being here with you,” he said, touching my cheek with the back of his finger.

“I like you being here with me.”

His palm went to my face and kissed me softly. I kissed him back, and he rolled above me kissing me deeper as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt his hand slowly trace down the front of my nightshirt. My heartbeat picked up, and I lay back.

Watercolor will be LIVE everywhere Oct. 3!

You still have time to catch up!
