What’s Your Favorite Fantasy Setting?
In fictional works, there are a bunch of different settings to choose from these days.
There’s Urban Fantasy, encompassing the fear of the things that go bump in the night when you’re walking past a dark alley.
There’s Dark Fantasy, where everything is bad and you don’t try to be a hero, just do what you have to in order to survive.
High fantasy stories are epic in scale and feature multiple races, the sort of world where your actions will affect the outcome of the world.
And then there are low fantasy stories, which tone done the scale of the fantasy aspects and focus on the individual?
I’m partial to Urban Fantasy (Dresden Files was my gateway into the genre), but what about you?
