Canadian Smoke Returns to Northern Plains and Upper Midwest as National Weather Service Issues Air Quality Alerts | The Gateway Pundit | by Shawn Bradley Witzemann
Map from fire.airnow.gov showing air quality advisories across the North American continent.
The National Weather Service has issued air quality alerts from the Northern Plains into the Upper Midwest as smoke from Canadian wildfires once again drifts into the United States.
As previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, many Americans share a lingering concern about the toxic smoke as well as what role arson may have played in the development of such an active fire season.
But while opposing worldviews continue to battle it out over the cause, the effect remains obvious with millions of Americans once again suffering complicated breathing conditions as a result.

As reported by CBS, “The U.S. EPA’s AirNow air quality page rated the air in Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit and Des Moines as “unhealthy” as of early Sunday afternoon. In Omaha and Cincinnati, the air quality was rated as unhealthy for sensitive groups.”
Multiple major cities currently report limited visibility as the thick haze descends over much of the United States.
You are suppose to see the downtown Cleveland skyline in this @EarthCam, but the smoke from the Canadian #wildfires is so dense, it’s making it hard to see

ESPN writer Ryan McGee points out, Nashville currently resembles a scene from a desert planet in a galaxy, far, far away.

So, while laughter-inspiring memes and a fresh round of speculation accompany the return of Canadian smoke, it now seems as though widespread air quality alerts are just part of the new normal in much of America.
And with over 900 active fires still steadily burning in Canada, the situation is unlikely to substantially change anytime soon.

Sony Access controller gets pre-order date as Reddit scraps awards
OPINION: It’s time for us to name this week’s winner and loser and a few launches grabbed our attention this week.
Namely, the Honor Magic V2 and the Nothing Phone (2), both of which caught our eye with their unique designs. The Nothing Phone (2) sees an updated Glyph system and transparent back this time around, while the Honor has been revamped in a way that could potentially overshadow the incoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 – especially seeing as the latter is rumoured to be getting a price hike this time around.
Of course, you’d be forgiven for skipping over the above with Amazon’s Prime Day sale having stolen much of our attention this past week as the retailer dropped deal after deal.
Keep reading to discover who we named our winner and loser this week.
Winner: Sony Our winner this week is Sony after the company officially announced a pre-order date for its new Access controller for the PlayStation 5.
The Access controller – previously known as Project Leonardo – is a PS5 controller designed to help players with disabilities and accessibility needs game more comfortably for longer periods of time.
The controller has a modular design that allows users to customise the layout with different buttons and stick caps in various shapes and designs. Users can use the controller from any 360-degree orientation and connect third-party accessories using the four 3.5mm expansion ports.
Buttons can be mapped to create up to 30 control profiles, stick settings can be adjusted, commands can be toggled on and off and buttons can be disabled altogether to prevent them from accidentally being pressed.
The PS5 Access controller can also be paired with another Access controller or a DualSense controller to be used together collaboratively.
The Access controller will be available for pre-order from July 21 and start shipping worldwide from December 6. The controller is priced at $89.99/£79.99/€89.99.

Loser: Reddit This week’s loser is Reddit after the platform announced that it would be ditching its Gold coin and award system.
According to a post by u/venkman01 of the Reddit product team, Reddit is reworking the way in which content and contributions are rewarded on the website. Part of this process involves getting rid of existing coins and awards, including community coins for moderators, medals, premium awards and community awards.
The post explains that Reddit has received consistent feedback on awards indicating that many users don’t like the clutter from awards or the steps that go into awarding content.
All existing coins and awards will remain available until September 12, but users are no longer able to purchase new coins.
As you might expect, Reddit has already received quite a bit of backlash in the comments of the post. User u/perryw commented, “You’re just taking coins, that we’ve paid cash for, with no consideration? Not even going to give us the equivalent value in premium time for our existing coins and coins we are going to end up not getting?”.
“In other words, you’re removing a popular feature and charging the same amount for premium”, wrote u/sabertooth767.
Some key perks of Reddit Premium were the 700 monthly coins, 1000 sign-up coins and Premium Awards users received as part of the $5.99/month subscription.
Though Reddit Gold, Silver, Platinum, Ternium and Argentium will be ending as we know them, the post does promise that “something golden” will remain a core part of the platform.

Trump Mocks Joe Biden Over Disastrous Performance at NATO Summit (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit | by Cristina Laila
President Trump spoke at the Turning Point Action Conference on Saturday night in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The crowd went wild as soon as Trump took the stage.
Trump touted his historic accomplishments.
“We built the greatest economy ever in the history of the world. China was going to catch us for 20 years – 2018 China was going to overtake us…we were so far ahead of them they never had a chance and if we had a smart president they would never be able to take us,” Trump said.
“In the Biden economy, one-third of GenZ and Millennials have no savings accounts, and no savings whatsoever,” Trump said. “They have nothing. They have nothing.”
Trump slammed Joe Biden as a corrupt incompetent man.
“Biden is the most corrupt president in the history of the country by far,” Trump said.
Then he mocked Biden over his disastrous performance at the NATO Summit in Europe earlier this week.
Biden was a mumbling mess on the world stage.

REPORT: Iowa is Now a Solidly Red State | The Gateway Pundit | by Mike LaChance
Iowa used to be a purple state, but not anymore. Like Florida, Iowa has switched to solid red.
People all over are starting to look at what’s happening to states like California and New York and are voting in ways to ensure that they don’t suffer the same fate.
Is there any wonder why Democrats want to skip Iowa and go right to the South Carolina primary?
FOX News reports:
How this onetime battleground state in heartland America turned bright red
Iowa has gone from purple to deep red.
Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds of Iowa on Friday signed into law a controversial bill passed earlier this week by the state’s GOP-dominated legislature that sharply limits abortion.
The bill, which would ban most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, is the latest example of Iowa Republicans flexing their muscles in a state that over the past dozen years has transformed from a crucial general election battleground to solidly red, with the GOP in control of the governor’s office, both legislative chambers in the statehouse and Iowa’s entire congressional delegation.
Reynolds has signed laws this year that ban or significantly limit gender transition treatments for minors, allow families to use taxpayer money towards private-school tuition and loosen child labor rules in the state, as the GOP works to turn the onetime swing state into a bastion of conservatism…
It wasn’t that long ago that Democrats were competitive in the state, controlling the governor’s office for a dozen straight years and one of the two U.S. Senate seats for three straight decades. But Democrats haven’t won a gubernatorial election since 2006 or a Senate contest since 2008.
And it’s not just Iowa.
Psst. Don’t tell anyone. But, the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas have all moved more conservative in the last decade. Midwest Rebellion!!!

Boston’s Democrat Mayor Compiles List of Her Critics’ Names and Gives it to Police | The Gateway Pundit | by Mike LaChance
Boston’s Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu is facing criticism for compiling a list of her ctitics and handing it over to the police.
You know, for all of the Democrats’ talk about authoritarians and fascism, they sure seem to like using those concepts as political tactics.
It’s all projection, of course.
FOX News reports:
Boston mayor Michelle Wu under fire after sending list of critics and protesters to police
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, a Democrat, is facing criticism for “Nixonian tactics” after her administration admitted to creating a list of her most vocal critics and providing it to local authorities.
“The list was made in response to a request from the Boston Police Department after the Mayor had been harassed and physically intimidated by individuals for several months outside her home, at city functions such as the annual neighborhood parks coffee hours, and at other public events,” Wu spokesman Ricardo Patron said in a statement to the Boston Herald.
The acknowledgment by the administration that it had compiled the document came after the list was uncovered in an email obtained through a public records request by Wu’s opponents, the outlet noted.
The tactics used by the administration raise concern over whether Wu and her administration are attempting to silence or intimidate her critics, many of whom have protested outside of her home.
“The request (from police) came after many of the individuals on the list repeatedly impeded the Dorchester Day Parade to harass Mayor Wu and her family and staff, yelling through megaphones at her and her children for nearly ninety minutes as they marched in the parade despite being asked by parade organizers to leave the parade route,” Patron said, according to the Herald.
She should try walking a mile in Justice Brett Kavanugh’s shoes.

“Fake News” – Mike Pence Lashes Out After His “That’s Not My Concern” Comment to Tucker Carlson Goes Viral | The Gateway Pundit | by Cristina Laila
Mike Pence is angry over the viral video clip of him telling Tucker Carlson “that’s not my concern” after the former Fox News host rattled off a series of ills afflicting cities across the country.
Tucker ended Pence’s career in 60 seconds during Thursday night’s presidential primary forum in Iowa.
“You’re running for President. You are distressed that Ukrainians don’t have enough American tanks?! EVERY city in the U.S. has become much worse over the past three years…and it’s VISIBLE. Our economy has degraded…suicide rate has jumped…crime has exponentially increased and yet your concern is that the Ukrainians – country that most people can’t find on a map who’ve received tens of billions of US tax dollars don’t have enough tanks!” Tucker said.
Tucker continued, “I think it’s a fair question to ask, where’s the concern for the United States?”
“That’s not my concern,” Pence said. “Tucker, I’ve heard that routine from you before but that’s not my concern!”
Charlie Kirk posted the viral video to his 2.3 million Twitter followers.
“Tucker Carlson just brutalized Mike Pence for prioritizing Ukraine despite a litany of social ills afflicting America,” Charlie Kirk said.

One Fargo Police Officer Killed, Two Others Injured in Shooting – Deceased Shooter Identified as Mohamad Barakat | The Gateway Pundit | by Cristina Laila
One police officer was killed and two others were critically injured after a suspect opened fire for “no reason at all” on a busy street in Fargo, North Dakota on Friday.
The deceased suspect was identified on Saturday as 37-year-old Mohamad Barakat.
Police are baffled and can’t figure out the motive for the fatal shooting.
According to reports, Mohamad Barakat began shooting on a busy street in a broad daylight ambush on Friday afternoon.
Fargo police immediately began to exchange gunfire with Mohamad Barakat.
Jake Wallin, a 23-year-old rookie officer was fatally shot.
Officers Andrew Dotas and Tyler Hawes were critically injured in the gunfire.
Officer Zach Robinson fatally shot Mohamad Barakat.
A 25-year-old woman was also shot and seriously injured.
“This was a heinous and unthinkable act of aggression against our officers and against our community,” Fargo Police Chief David Zibolski said during a news conference on Saturday. “That type of behavior obviously cannot stand.”
North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley was tight-lipped about the investigation into the shooting and didn’t provide any details.
CBS News reported:
One police officer was killed and two others were critically injured after a suspect began shooting on a busy street in Fargo, North Dakota, on Friday afternoon, police said.
Fargo police officers returning fire killed the suspect during the shooting that occurred before 3 p.m. Friday.
The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Mohamad Barakat of Fargo. He died after being taken to a hospital, police said.
In a news conference Saturday, Fargo Police Chief David Zibolski said the suspect opened fire for “no known reason at all.”
North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley said the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation was working with federal, state and local law enforcement in response to a “shooting incident” but provided no details.
“We sincerely are asking for your patience and our community’s patience and understanding as the Fargo Police Department works through this incident,” Schildberger said Friday evening.
“This is very difficult on all of us,” Schildberger said. “We appreciate all the messages from the community that have been given to us in support of our officers.”
Multiple witnesses said a man opened fire on the police officers before other officers shot him. Shortly afterward, officers converged on a residential area about 2 miles away and evacuated residents while gathering what they said was evidence related to the shooting.
Fargo Police on Saturday updated the public on the fatal police shooting:

WHAT A SHAME: NYC Theater Company That Staged Julius Caesar Play as Trump Assassination Now Laying Off 19 Percent of Its Staff | The Gateway Pundit | by Mike LaChance
Remember back in 2017, when a New York City theater company staged a version of Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar with Trump as the main character, so that they could show Trump getting assassinated on stage?
They’re now laying off 19 percent of their staff because they’re getting totally squeezed by the Biden economy and inflation. Isn’t that just awful?
It’s probably safe to assume everyone who works for this company voted for Biden. Hopefully, they’re still happy with their choice.
Breitbart News reports:
New York Theater Behind Trump Assassination Staging of ‘Julius Caesar’ Laying Off 19 Percent of Staff
New York’s prestigious Public Theater — which staged the assassination of President Donald Trump in its infamous 2017 production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar — is laying off 19 percent of its staff as it faces a catastrophic financial crisis brought on by plummeting attendance and soaring operating costs.
Public Theater leaders announced Friday that nearly 1 in 5 workers will receive a pink slip in a bid to save the institution. Artistic director Oskar Eustis told the New York Times that attendance has cratered by 30 percent while the theater’s costs have skyrocketed by as much as 45 percent.
“We have kept our donor base, but it’s static. Put that all together, and you get budget shortfalls — big budget shortfalls,” he said.
Eustis directed the Public’s 2017 Central Park production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in which the title character was costumed to resemble President Donald Trump. The assassination scene featured Trump being stabbed to death in a violent melee of knife play in the U.S. Senate.
It couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch.
The @PublicTheaterNY, an Off Broadway nonprofit that is one of the nation’s most successful theater organizations, is laying off 19 percent of its staff as the field struggles with declining revenues and rising costs. Here’s a gift link to the story: https://t.co/u2TCQZnagX

Bose’s compact soundbar has a big price cut for Prime Day
It’s day two of the Prime Deal extravaganza and if you’re looking to boost your TV’s audio performance then there’s a compact soundbar from Bose that’s on offer.
The Bose Solo Soundbar Series II is on sale to Prime members, getting a healthy discount of £40 to bring it down from its RRP of 179 to £139.
We’ve not reviewed this soundbar but it’s been out for a few years and it’s now at one of the cheapest prices it’s been since it launched. Compact soundbars are a good option for people who are limited in terms of the amount of space they have for a sound system, or for anyone looking to improve the quality of their small-sized TV.
Bose’s compact soundbar has a big price cut for Prime Day
The Bose Solo Soundbar Series II is on sale to Prime members, dropping from its RRP of 179 to £139.
The Solo Soundbar Series II features two full-range drivers that angled out towards the sides to produce a wide soundstage. It’s small enough to sit beneath the TV without blocking the picture, and comes with a wall bracket for those who want to stick it on the wall below their TV.
There’s Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to stream from a mobile device to the soundbar, and for anyone who finds it hard to hear what’s being said in TV and films, there’s a dedicated ‘Dialogue mode’ that makes speech easier to hear without having to adjust the volume.
There’s no HDMI output, with a choice of a digital audio output, AUX and coaxial inputs to connect to a TV or other devices. That would make the Bose Solo Soundbar Series II the type of bar that would go well with older, pre-HDMI TVs.
This deal won’t be around for much longer as Prime Day ends on 12th July, so if you are looing to boost your TV’s sound, you should give this deal a gander.

LOL! MSNBC Host Claims His Audience ‘Doesn’t Have Conspiracy Theorists’ (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit | by Mike LaChance
MSNBC’s Al Velshi, who once stood in front of fires at a BLM/Antifa riot in Minneapolis, recently claimed on his show that his audience doesn’t have conspiracy theorists.
This is the same network that pushed the Russia collusion hoax for four solid years. It’s one of the main reasons that their viewers tuned in to watch.
What’s more, Velshi said this to Nika Jankowicz, who was almost made the head of the ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ at DHS.
NewsBusters reports:
MSNBC Host Claims ‘My Audience Doesn’t Have Conspiracy Theorists’
MSNBC’s Ali Velshi, best known for standing in front of a burning building and saying nothing “unruly” was going on, used his Saturday show to proclaim that his audience, unlike Fox’s, does not conspiracy theorists in it.
Speaking to Nika Jankowicz, formerly of DHS’s infamous Disinformation Governance Board, Velshi recounted, “I just did that intro to the segment, right? So that my audience would understand this conspiracy theory that I guarantee you, pretty much nobody in my audience knew that story because why would they?”
Velshi was referring to Ray Epps, who recently sued Fox News for claims that he was an FBI agent who encouraged the rob to storm The Capitol on January 6. Velshi claimed he is not like that. Instead, viewers tune in to his show for egghead takes about economics, “Two segments ago I talked about red states and Bidenomics, again I’m not– my audience doesn’t have conspiracy theorists in, right?”
