This is actually the BEST time to “get your shit together” to build solidarity in your community!
We’re going through global crisis after global crisis. If we can band together (with all Covid-19 social distancing and safety protocols in mind!), take care of each other, unionize our workspaces and our apartment complexes, and fight for justice and mutual aid? We can fight and win against the monsters destroying our planet and hurting our families and neighbors.
Capitalism is crumbling. The foundations are quaking and our oppressors are terrified. It’s about to topple. And when it does, all we’ll have is each other.
So get your shit together – communicate with your friends and neighbors, organize mutual aid, learn new and important skills, and build the foundations of a better world, y’all.
Plus, as far as getting personal shit together, if you’re self-isolating right now (and we all should be!!), this is the perfect time to do that thing you always meant to do. Maybe it will have to happen in a different format, but there are still lots of options! Always meant to get more steps in? Go outside and walk, at a safe distance from everyone else! Always meant to learn a language? Take tai chi? Ballet? Write more? Be a better correspondent to far away friends? Carpe diem, friends! Self-invest while you’re self-isolating!
