Characters of the Silmarillion

Maglor the Mighty Singer [Kanafinwë Makalaurë] : the second son of Fëanor, known for his incredible poetry and musical talents, especially his skill in harping, whose sound was golden. He composed the great lament Noldolantë of the Fall of the Noldor.

Audience Participation: Fic-Writing Edition

cosmictuesdays:

Taken from someone else on another network, deemed too good not to use.

Ask me a question about one of my fics or series. It can be absolutely anything in any project and I will tell you the honest-to-goodness answer (even on the progress/plans for next chapters of current series).

Don’t hold back. Whatever you ask, I’ll answer as truthfully and as completely as possible. You can also ask about my writing as a whole, if you like.

SOME BOOKS DESERVE TO BE READ JUST FOR THE PROSE.… but a...

SOME BOOKS DESERVE TO BE READ JUST FOR THE PROSE.

… but a lot of those books are kind of boring.

Mary Hades is NOT boring, but the prose is so beautiful it’s heart breaking and might make you think things like, “I should never be allowed to write again because it is obvious that I am committing gross sins against my native tongue,” whilst your drown your sorrows in dark chocolate. Or vodka. Your choice.

Mary Hades is about a girl who see things, and I mean things in the most literal meaning of the word. She sees scarecrows, skeletons, zombies, and mishmashes thereof whenever death is imminent.

Also, her best friend Lacey is a ghost—a very cheeky, loud-mouthed ghost.

There is a fantastic relationship drawn in simple strokes between Mary and her parents—it’s a typical awkward adult/teenage relationship, but what makes it wonderful is how realistically it is fraught with parents always wondering if they’re doing the right thing. There is romance, a goth couple that is hilarious, and if all that wasn’t enough—a terrific mystery of a dead child.

Mary Hades is available on Amazon, Amazon UKB&N, Kobo, and Google Play.

My mom saw this today and said, “Why isn’t this the cover for Monsters?

Thoughts?

Someone found this and liked it in my archives. So nice when it gets noticed. It’s for Monsters: Part II of I Bring the Fire and features Loki and baby Helen. (The first installment of I Bring the Fire is still free on Amazon, iBooks B&N Kobo, GooglePlay and Smashwords. And the whole series is free to subscribers of Oyster and Scribd … and via your local library via Overdrive.)

The Moss Knight

"He stood rooted there in the tall reeds, he had become a thing of the moss and the still water. Her heart broke to see him thus, her champion, her protector, her love, her constant, and she clung to him with a desperate need though he could not hear and could not see and could not move and was shut to the world…"
