NEW RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT (and 99¢ sale alert)
Kingdom of Lies by Debra Dunbar

So this may be TMI, but this weekend, I needed a root canal. It could have been much worse, but you know, root canals aren’t fun under the best of circumstances. Anyway, I didn’t have the best weekend, but Kingdom of Lies made it a lot better.

Sam (short for Samantha, which may be the feminine for Samuel, who may have been the fallen angel who became the Iblis, a.k.a. Satan) is back, and into mischief. She’s got elves, angels, dragons, unicorns, and harpies to deal with in this installment. There was action, adventure, and angst–and it was laugh out loud funny in parts. (What is she going to do with the ball of yarn, Ms. Dunbar? Is the psychotic laser beam shooting kitten coming back?)

It was the perfect thing to take me away from an upset tummy and tooth pain.

Anyway, if you’ve been following Ms. Dunbar’s series, picking this one up is a safe bet. And if you haven’t been reading the Imp Series … why not? I reviewed it this weekend and I believe Demon Bound is still on sale. Pick it up, and have some fun!

BOOK REVIEW AND 99¢ SALE ALERT : Demon Bound by Debra Dunbar

Amazon, iBooks, Nook, and Kobo.

I love the Imp series. I  got sucked into it by reading her standalone book Three Wishes because it is an urban fantasy based in Chicago, and you know, I’m from Chicago. Anyway, Three Wishes was charming (the love interest is a RAT demon! How can you beat that? YOU CANNOT!) and I was hooked. I went and grabbed Demon Bound and then seven days and seven books later managed to crawl out of my book cocoon and (mostly) re-enter the real world, drooling, and muttering Dunbar! Dunbar! Were is the next book????!!! In the same sort of voice used by zombies to ask for brains.

What I love about Demon Bound and the whole series:

There are “angels” but they aren’t always “good” and “demons” who aren’t always “evil” (Though the demons are much more evil than my Loki, even the heroine, though she changes through the novels. Demon Bound is pretty tame, but Sam does some horrible things in later books. Be forewarned.)

It pulls heavily from agnostic lore. Seriously, the big ol’ angel-demon battle is in here. And I like how heaven is portrayed as a place where beings exist as energy, and Hell is almost its exact opposite, everything there is sort of intensely in the flesh.

Humans aren’t helpless nitwits. Humans are actually responsible for beginning the reformation of Sam, the heroine of the story (an Imp and lesser Demon). They also successfully kill lots of demons with guns. Big guns. And large motor vehicles.

The series is funny, but it is also deep. A lot about “good” and “evil” and the nature of humanity in the story even though the main characters are a demon, and later an angel.

Action. Adventure. Romance.

Oh and Wyatt!**

You can pick up the first in the series at your fave retailer for only 99¢. DO IT. DO IT NOW! Amazon, iBooks, Nook, and Kobo.

*We may not actually be friends. I may in fact be a crazy fan who is STALKING her asking her, “So how is that book Kingdom of Lies coming? Huh? Huh?” a bit too frequently, but I can’t help myself.

**Direct Ascension into heaven Ms. Dunbar, seriously, he deserves it.

***UPDATE: KINGDOM OF LIES IS NOW AVAILABLE***
Get it at Amazon, iBooks, Nook, and Kobo, yay!

IT’S ON SALE AGAIN!!! Don’t miss it!

I don’t think the classic cover for the The Slip will ever go away … The Slip stars Sleipnir, Loki’s eight-legged horse baby, and is mostly from his point of smell. I think he was my dad’s favorite character in the whole series. The Slip takes place after Fates: I Bring the Fire Part IV and you can get it at Amazon, iBooks, Nook, Kobo, GooglePlay, and Smashwords.

Not familiar with I Bring the FIre? The first part is FREE on Amazon, iBooks, Nook, Kobo, Smashwords & Google Play.

The new cover for Warriors: I Bring the Fire Part V, available...

The new cover for Warriors: I Bring the Fire Part V, available atAmazon, iBooks, Nook, Kobo, GooglePlay and Smashwords.

Here is the setup:

When science meets Chaos, what could go wrong?

Bohdi Patel is keeping the revelation that he is Chaos incarnate a secret, and handling the revelation about as well as one would expect. He’s in a downward spiral: losing his lease, totaling his car, and trying to keep everyone he cares about at arm’s length.

Veterinarian Amy Lewis is wondering what happened to the funny, flirty, curious Bohdi she knew in the land of the Norns. He’s become moody and sometimes cruel. She is definitely glad she didn’t become romantically entangled with him … most of the time.

When tragedy strikes Amy’s beloved mutt Fenrir, and Odin strikes Bohdi’s best friend Steve, they have to work together again. Amy’s knowledge of science, Bohdi’s talents for theft, and both of their survival skills are put to the test. But more than Steve and Fenrir’s lives are at stake. Amy and Bohdi may unlock the key that saves mankind from the gods … or bring about the apocalypse.

The first in the series has it’s brand new cover up, and it’s still FREE at Amazon, iBooks, Nook, Kobo, Smashwords & Google Play.
