Meditate
Working on an amazing 11k word interview with photographer Ellen Carey. Just so inspired. Will meditate on the nature of artistry. #meditate
Gender gap at top museums
Gender gap at top museums – most museums are still run by men – will this change?
Forgive Yourself
It was a good process. I think the work the previous 18 days on forgiveness did help. I’d thought about a lot of issues and was able to be more gentle with myself than before. I have made mistakes. I learned from them. I can’t change the past. I can only do the best I can with each future day – each fresh opportunity.
If I “waste” energy on feeling upset about things I can’t change, that is energy I can’t apply to making this current day as productive as it could be. I have SO many projects that need to be done. People rely on me. I owe it to them to be fully present in now and fully dedicated to making this current day work well. Yes I want to learn from the past – but to wallow in it serves no good for the current people who need me. I should focus all my energy today on doing today’s tasks as well as I can, with all the energy and spirit that I have.
I’m slowly getting there. But the letter did help.
I do suggest trying the daily exercises and then writing yourself a letter. Every step helps a little bit.
LED Candles
Enjoying LED pillar candles in my bedroom. Should use these more often. A soothing glow at the end of a day. I’d not been replacing the batteries in them when they died because the covers get screwed open and shut for some reason, and it’s a chore to go find the tiny screwdriver. But I examined the candles today and realized they don’t *have* to be screwed open and shut. The lid will stay shut fine without the screw. Hurrah! I’ll simply leave them without the screw and life will be so much easier. Plus they’re remote controlled so when I’m finally ready for sleep I don’t have to leave bed

Happy birthday to Nicéphore Niépce
Happy birthday to Nicéphore Niépce – creator of the oldest surviving photo in the world – born 3/7/1765 #photography – all of us photographers have him to thank for the fun we have now! Apparently it took him between 8 hours and 3 days to make this image of the view out his window.
Meditate on Health
Starting to feel better – the magic healing power of sleep . Will meditate on how important good health is. #meditation
Printing from Color Negatives
Because I don’t already have enough things to do, I’m pondering learning how to develop my own color prints in order to enter an art show. We have the negatives, but we can’t find anybody who can turn those into prints without scanning them, which violates the rules of the show. Does anybody know of anywhere which does real darkroom printing of color negatives? Or who has done this before?
