Carving Gemstones

Wow – dedication to his craft. He has to carve these inside-out, under water, one stroke at a time –

Meditation

Heading into my 10pm meditation – so much to be grateful for. Wonderful friends. A warm, safe home. The ability to practice serenity.

Judging People as Ugly

Had a lovely yoga session. I contemplated why our society sometimes can judge people as “ugly” or “not ugly” – is this healthy? Why do we feel the need to denigrate someone for their looks, which is typically beyond their control? Is that like denigrating someone for their skin color, also beyond their control? I feel we each, in our own way, have beauty. We each look different and that is wonderful. I love portraits that bring out that beauty in each person. Great-grandparents can be beautiful. Toddlers can be beautiful. We can each be beautiful. What do you think?

Yoga Session

Had a great yoga session this morning – Bob even spotted me so I could do a better backbend. My spine needed it! How are you today?

Here’s a simple in-seat exercise. Imagine you have a halo over the crown of your head. Slowly trace it with your crown five times clockwise. Then five times counter-clockwise.

Role of Women in Medieval England

The Role of Women in Medieval England – they weren’t all meek, mild, and kowtowing to their husband overlords! :)

Medieval languages

Medieval languages – how did people argue, flirt, and woo in medieval times? It was richer than you might think!

Yoga Session

My peppers marigolds rosemary crocus lavender are now “home” the dining room window area; I had my first #yoga session with them. Lovely! They are all potted so they go out in the summer and then back in during the winter. I’m looking forward to seeing the crocus plants make saffron blossoms. So far they are just green stalks.
