zoo mystery stories
One series I write is on zoo mystery stories. The shooting of Harambe greatly troubles me. Those gorillas are critically endangered. There should have been better safeguards. Did the exhibit actually have a solid chain-link fence or was it just wood slats they hoped people stayed behind?
Once the child was in the gorilla’s hands and the keepers felt they couldn’t get to him, I do understand the decision. It’s unfair at that point to let the child die because of faults on the part of the zoo design team or the parents. But both, in my opinion, should now face consequences.

peaceful yoga session
I enjoyed a peaceful yoga session on my back porch; the first one since the glass-table-breaking incident. We finally found the time yesterday to clear off the whole deck, power wash it all, and ensure all the glass remnants were taken care of. Hurrah! I love doing yoga there and am glad to get back into that routine. #namaste

Pakistan and Women’s Rights
Time to write your rep. Pakistan is considering a law to let husbands beat wives for refusing sex. If we can exert international pressure on them they might see reason.
