Refreshed! Renewed! Ready to Write!

I started the New Year a little behind, but after a fantastic writer’s retreat in Destin, FL and a fun reader event in Charlotte, NC I’m refreshed, renewed, and ready to write! The annual Destin Divas retreat was just the boost I needed to finish up a few lingering projects, and share ideas about writing, publishing, and career moves with a great group of writers. When the Heart Dreams in Charlotte, NC was a fantastic reader/writer event. Not only did I meet the iconic Brenda Jackson (fan gir...

New Year New Book!

Happy New Year! 2018 is here and I’m excited about the possibilities. There were rough patches in in 2017, but overall 2017 was good to me. I published two books, signed with a new agent, wrote an additional two manuscripts, read 43 books, finaled in the RITA awards, and received some exciting news that’ll allow me to stretch my creative wings. I’ll get to announce that bit of news soon.

2018 is starting with even more good news. Today is my book birthday! My 14th novel is available in print...

Updates and a Giveaway!

It’s mid August and I’m finally getting time to get a few updates out to you all. Last month was busy (as I expected) but a lot of fun. Let’s start with the Romance Writers of America Conference (RWA17).

OMG! I had such a great time. Not surprising. I usually have fun at RWA even thought it can be overwhelming and a little exhausting. The highlight for me was the RITA Awards. A Malibu Kind of Romance finaled in the Contemporary Romance Short Category. I didn’t win, but I’m still a winner. The...

It’s July Already! Mid-Year Check Up.

I can’t believe it’s July already! The first half of this year has flown by. So far, 2017 has been a good one. My commitment to publish goals every month has helped keep me on track. I won’t say it’s easy to sit down, set S.M.A.R.T. goals, and stick with them. But, sometimes the things you need to do aren’t easy or fun (Oil changes for example).

Last month my main goal was to write 5k a week. I didn’t quite hit that mark. I wrote every week, and got at least 2500 words written, but halfway th...

Reader Appreciation Giveaway and June Goals

Summer is here! For the past few years my family has enjoyed the official kickoff of summer (Memorial Day Weekend) at Jacksonville Beach (reason for the idea of the Jacksonville Gators basketball team). This year was no different. We had a great time, and now my boys are out of school and ready for a summer fun. For me, I’ve got to dig in and meet my writing goals. No summer writing vacation, though I do hope to get in more sun, sand, and pool time.

As I’m making my goals for the month of Jun...
