Forbidden Promises Receives Starred Review!

I’m surprised, and humbled, to receive my first starred review! Not because I don’t believe in this story, but because I’ve never gotten one before. Lol!

Last week I learned Forbidden Promises received a starred review from Publishers Weekly. For those who don’t know, “Publishers Weekly, familiarly known in the book world as PW and “the bible of the book business,” is a weekly news magazine focused on the international book publishing business.”PW is a “go to” source for information in the...

Love This Cover!

On Friday I found out Guarding His Heart was nominated in the Romance category for the African-American Literary Award! The African American Literary Awards Show (AALAS) celebrates and promotes the achievements and contributions of African-American authors, writers, publishers, artists and related entertainment industries.

This is my second nomination, and I do not take it for granted. I’m humbled and honored to be considered for this award. Voting for the winner begins in Au...

The Henderson Family is Back!

I am pleased to announce that my Henderson Family Series is back! Same great stories with a new look.

For those who don’t know, I originally published my Henderson Family Series with Crimson Romance. Crimson was an e-book publisher that was later acquired by Simon and Schuster. Simon and Schuster decided to close Crimson Romance in early 2018. I published seven novels with Crimson Romance, and I enjoyed my time working with the editors there. This year I requested, and received, the rights ba...

Goals: They Really Do Work!

The start of 2019 came with a lot of new challenges and opportunities. I’ve got a new 3 book contract with HQN Books. I had to finish up my last Kimani Romance novel. I decided this would be the year of saying “yes”. Not yes to more responsibility, but to more time having fun. I’m continuing to play tennis and even challenging myself by playing mixed doubles (girls and guys). I asked for the rights back to the seven books I published with Crimson Romance and got those books back! More info on...

His Pick for Passion (Gators Book 4)

The last book in my Jacksonville Gators series, His Pick for Passion, releases in March 2019 from Harlequin Kimani. While I am sad to see the end of Kimani, and the close of this series, the future is bright. I’ve got new projects in the works and a new series coming in 2020!

The wrap up of the Kimani line means instead of monthly releases the imprint will do a quarterly two-in-one release. His Pick for Passion is paired with Pleasure at Midnight by Pamela Yaye! Be sure to click on my Books p...

Then there are all the questions about craft. What’s the best point-of-view to write in? How do I show versus tell? What the hell is show versus tell? How do I dig deep and squish my readers heart with emotions?

On top of learning the basics of publishing and writing there are also the other...
