INSPIRE-MOI SEULEMENT IS #1 at Amazon.fr !!!!
OMG Talk about being uber thrilled (and pissed) at the same time!!
Inspire-Moi Seulement (Muse Me Only-French Edition) went up on pre-order over a week ago without a cover due to some screw up between the Printer and Amazon. I cant fathom how, after so long, it still hasnt been fixed, (and trust me I’m not the only one freaking out about it. Juno Publishing has sent the Armageddon army after them both. And there are a few other authors having the same issue)
But despite what would be thought an impossible uphill climb, INSPIRE-MOI SEULEMENT IS #1 at Amazon.fr !!!!

and check out the cover you’re missing!!

Talking Kink & Seduction – Punishment
Baby Boy did something bad.
No, not really, but for the sake of argument we are going to say that I did. What do you expect to happen? If you said I would get swatted, you may very well be right. Or have something taken away from me. I could be given a written assignment and expect to have it completed by a reasonable deadline. All of these things… Read more »

Books n Cozy Spots Book reviews – Creamed at the Coffee Cabana by Constance Barker

We all dream about retiring in Florida when we finally get to say good bye to the dreaded nine to five life, find some sunny small town to call home. Welcome to Sweet Home Florida it is somewhat like the Cheers Bar (an 80’s TV show); everyone knows your name and your business. This is also one of the things that make Creamed at the Coffee Cabana by Constance Barker a fun… Read more »

Labeling genres, sub-genres and… yikes you could have mentioned there was Mpreg… O.o

Labeling genres, sub-genres and… yikes you could have mentioned there was Mpreg… O.o
So I bought this book on impulse during Rainbow Con after having shared a panel with the author. The Story, as described to me, interested me so I grabbed it up. Now, I haven’t actually gotten the chance to read it yet, (Such is the case with a hundred other recently purchased books). But I was just on Amazon and the same books floated past my screen and there’s this sudden adjustment to the title.
It’s Mpreg.
A factor that never at any time was mentioned, described or brought up about the book previously. It also was never listed in the book’s sub-genre or blurb. Now, I know there are lots of readers who are just nuts over this type story and they scoop them up as quickly as they hit the book stores. And that’s all fine and dandy. But for me it’s a huge ICK factor. I just CAN’T! And before anyone jumps my shit about this, I can’t do girl-preg either. In fact, I don’t want to read anything remotely prego.
Again, this my opinion of what I like and don’t like and this is just YUCK. It’s not about the quality of the book’s story. Like I said, I haven’t read it. But now I CANT read it. And I feel duped because I have purchased something that I cannot attempt to enjoy.
I’ve seen discussions often of varying topics over labeling warnings, and authors fall to one side or another about adding them or skirting to avoid having too many. But what about labeling genres and sub-genres? I’ve seen comments before from some about:
“Why can’t we just say it’s a book and drop all the genre labels?”
—Sorry, but that’s like the most moronic question ever. Try telling a vegan to just order something off the menu that only has a number and no foody details and see how well THAT goes over. (Brace yourselves… the 1 star reviews are coming)
For me, I tack on quite a few main & sub genre labels on my books and include them in the blurb wherever my books are listed. Some of my past sub-genres listings have included labels such as:
Gay or MM (if it has both its kinda on the fence between the two) / mature men / war-time Romance / Erotic Romance / Sport Theme / Dystopia / Bdsm / Adult Content (this usually means the book is not geared toward erotica or romance but may still contain adult content) / Adventure / Artist Theme / Blue-Collar
I choose to do this so readers know what they are picking up. I find it helpful to let them know, so they can better find the stories they are in the mood for at that time. It has also dropped the returns down to next to nothing. Sometimes I have seen authors list HEA in the genres, they hate to give ity away but if an author’s main reader audience are sticklers for that, its best to go ahead and hand that dish over.
For me, Mpreg should have been listed from the get go. I don’t mind buying books. Sometimes I buy them knowing I’ll likely never get around to reading them, but do so to show support. Yet there is always that underlining that I might still get around to reading it one day. What I don’t like is buying something I won’t ever touch. I could have bought a different book from the same author and showed support that way.
I guess my point I am wanting to get to and not just ranting is… When you are about to publish your next book, consider this… some readers are allergic to peanuts… some LOVE peanuts. So it’s best to label your book to show if there are peanuts in the ingredients. This way you get more peanut lovers buying your book and fewer peanut haters wishing they could return it.
HAPPY READING

Books n Cozy Spots Book Reviews – HEART SCARAB by Anna Butler
~ 4 Stars ~ Review of HEART SCARAB, by Anna Butler
Heart Scarab picks up where Gyrfalcon left off in the toxic relationship between Bennet and the truly unlikable Joss, despite the passage of nearly two years. Bennet is still the understated Shield Captain, dedicated to and flourishing in his role in the fight against the cyborg enemy, The Maess, and Joss…is still a big… Read more »

talon-ps.com… WE’RE ALIVE!!!

WE’RE ALIVE!!!
I know it seemed like we may never resurface, but we had to make sure we came back with a bang and quite frankly we went all out to build a better website. Three years of posting and blogging has helped us see what our needs really were and we’ve designed the new digs to help with that.
First and foremost a HUGE THANK YOU to our webmaster, Joel for saving us and getting the design control back. And to Kagan, for getting me hooked up with some great template tools so I could really go all out with the new webspace. Thanks also to you our friends, fans, and readers for not giving up on us while we rebuild.
So here’s the run down. The theme to our previous website was no longer getting support from its designer so inevitably a recent update from the site provider corrupted it, but even in changing the them we discovered we’d lost all ability to make any changes to the webdesign at all. All we could do was blog. So we built a new site. This means three years of visitors, registrations and comments are lost. For some reason the facebook Likes came over with the archives, (though we cant figure out why no one can see them. o.O The main thing is the valuable stuff, our guests, blogs and reviews are not. PHEW! (why just cant get it to show up hahaha
So what’s been happening since our site went down? LOTS !! I’m still scrambling about in work mode so it doubtful I’ll get this update list out in order, but here it goes.
For starters it turns out The Teddy Bear Collection has a fourth book: IVAN vs IVAN. Only its taking the place of book 3, because its coming out next. When? Well, like as in Oct 13th ! The big boys just wouldn’t shut up that I couldn’t keep focused on Right One 4 Diesel. So I pelted it out and its already in the hands of our editor. Even the cover art for it is complete and making the tour stops around for the cover reveal, but you can also check it out here, on the Updates Tab !
RIGHT ONE FOR DIESEL is still moving along. Its slow but solid. Diesel and Paris are some extra busy characters. On top of their story Vida~Vince, Marcus, Harper, and even the dark Master, Dane Masters have been rattling on and on. While it does take me away from working on Diesel’s book some, it in turns gets the other brothers closer to be developed which means maybe less wait for readers to see these remaining books come out. This is good news for fans like Author Ava Snow, who’s been growing impatient to get her hands on Dane Masters. LOL
ANAIL DHRAGAIN (Dragon’s Breath) is still expected to come out after Right One 4 Diesel, but thankfully Trystian has been willing to be quiet long enough for me to get the Ivans out of my head and stay focused on Diesel’s book.
GOING INTO PRINT! All of them! Yes, you read that right. We’re prepping each and every one of mine and Talon’s books to go into print now. I was spurred on to do this when I was at the Rainbow Con in Tampa this year. Its seemed nearly all the authors there had put even their novellas into print. For the cons, it just makes sense, because being a reader too, I want the book NOW while I am there. The first to reach the printers was Bond of the Lycaon Concubine. It even got a remastered cover. Danny’s Dom is already in the works. Getting a refresher edit and a remastered cover as well. Next in line will be the Teddy Bear Collection. Starting with Their Plane From Nowhere, which has also gotten a remastered cover. While its doubtful they’ll get done in time to see them released the same time IVAN vs IVAN goes out on Kindle, perhaps they’ll be available in time to make excellent Christmas gifts.
INSPIRE MOI SEULEMENT ~ Muse Me Only is now in French, Thanks to Juno Publishing and it scheduled to be released in October 3rd! But if you read French and want to get a copy for yourself, its on pre-order right now at Amazon.fr
I’m probably forgetting something, but alas its time I got myself to bed. A place I have seen so very little of lately. hee hee
In the mean time BROWSE AROUND, get wonderfully lost in our new website and let us know what you think.
Oh and dont forget to have a SPECTACULAR DAY!!
See? I knew I was forgetting something. The reviews have been stacking up for Books n Cozy Spots, so to kick off the websites digs here are two !!!
~ 5 Star ~ Review of PRIDE by Candace Blevins
In a very short story that packs a lot of punch in just about every way, Ms. Blevins manages to deliver just about the steamiest little ditty ever read, while seamlessly and quite brilliantly furthering the link between her supernatural clans in the “Kirsten Shea Universe”. Read more »

Well talk about timing, on a few of the Facebook pages I frequent there has been a lot of talk about authors killing off beloved characters. I know I have wanted to go through some of my favorite characters closets and throw away all of their red shirts, yes that is a Star Trek thing. P.I. Barrington the author of The Brede Chronicles Book One has on the other hand, had me wanting Read more »
