Tristan and the Teddy Bear Tales is coming to Chucks Comics for Free Comic Book Day

Yes you read that right… Tristan, myself and the Teddy Bear Tales will be at Chucks Comics – Saturday May 5 from 11am onwards. I will be bringing A Teddy Bear Tale, The Wonder Tales and Fabula Exposition. Plus I will be debuting my Cuddly Hero Sketch Cards! So come along meet Tristan, pick up a book and some cuddly art this Saturday!

I am sorry we failed to get the full funding for A Teddy Bear Tale II here on Kickstarter, and under there all or nothing rules we don’t get a penny of what has been pledged. The good news for you my faithful Backers you don’t get charged a penny. We had hope with the last minute surge over the last 20 hours we would have a miracle today, but the conditions weren’t quite right and what we saw happen with A Teddy Bear Tale on Kickstarter didn’t happen with this project.

I thank you all for your faith in this project for making your pledges and for spreading the word, you are all different kinds of kindness, and from myself, Dan and Tristan we thank you for your dedication to these humble little Teddy Bear stories.

So what next?

Well we are still dedicated to getting this project published so we’ve changed tack…

First off I’ve moved the project over to Indie Go Go, a website just like Kickstarter, but the all or nothing rule does not apply which means when you back a project, you back that project.

You can check out A Teddy Bear Tale II – Faithful on Indie Go Go by clicking here. I’m only asking for $500 so I can get this project started and get Dan working on at least the first half the art for this book. So if you are still interested take a look at the project and please back it, nothing has changed just the venue. I still fully intend to bring you the second book.

Now I know a couple of you asked for a Wilma Bunny; I’m not offering this as a reward in the Indie Go Go project yet. But… You can now pick up the new Cuddly Defender direct from the Teddy Bear Tale website and have her shipped direct to you. Just click here to learn how to do this. It has been a busy week, we are less than 48 hours away from the Kickstarter Project for A Teddy Bear Tale II – Faithful closing, please go check it out and Pre-Order a copy of the new book. Still have a way to go, but if everyone who reads this blog today Pre-Orders the $10 illustrated tale we will make it!!!

If you’ve been following my Tweets over the last few days, hidden between the updates for the Kickstarter Pre-Orders for A Teddy Bear Tale II – Faithful, you’ve seen glimpses at what I’ve been calling the Cuddly Avengers. The basic idea is a more furry take on a selection of Marvel’s Mightiest Heroes; taking the Heroes as we know them and turning them into Teddy’s and Bunny’s. I’ve posted the first eight below – Thor, IronBear, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Spider-Bear, Ms.Marvel & Wasp.

Cuddly Avengers Assemble!!! Pencils complete for wave one of this fun project

If you’ve been following my Twitter feed all weekend you may of seen posts about ‘Cuddly Avengers’, asking for suggestions to who could join the team and image updates via my camera phone.  Well I completed the pencils for the last Cuddly Avenger in the wee hours of the morning and over the week I will be colouring them. But before I head into the world Gouche Watercolor I thought I should share them in the gallery below. In the first round I’ve penciled Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk, Colonel Furry, Iron-Bear, Wasp, Ms.Marvel, Thor, Wolverine, Spider-Bear, Black Teddy, Giant-Teddy/Ant-Bear, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Captain AmeriBear…

First Look at the NEW Cuddy Defender Wilma Bunny for a Teddy Bear Tale II

In the middle of our last Kickstarter project for A Teddy Bear Tale – Unconditional I stumbled upon Dotsbears and Dot agreed to produce a Tristan for me; giving us a fantastic bear to accompany the book.

Now with A Teddy Bear Tale II – Faithful, I asked Dot to make the new Cuddly Defender Wilma Bunny and today I got to approve the prototype. Below is the first sneak peak look at Tristan’s friend Wilma, sans tutu and she still needs her hair brushing. Once complete she will stand 16″ with fully moveable limbs and fluffy white tail.

Tristan is a coming to Wizard World Philly from May 31 – June 3

Time to stretch our convention legs and take Tristan to the City of Brotherly love. That’s right! Tristan the Teddy Bear is heading to Philadelphia for the Philly Comic Con at Wizard World from May 31st to June 3rd, and not only will Tristan and myself  be there, but I will be joined by Teddy Bear Tale Artist Dan Nokes. That is four days of none-stop Teddy Bear action with A Teddy Bear Tale – Unconditional and other Teddy Bear Tale goodies.  Also I’m going to be bringing the entire Alt-World catalog so this is a great chance to not only pick up A Teddy Bear Tale, but also The Wonder Tales and the revolutionary prose/sequential Fabula Zero Exposition Graphic Novel.
