Leopard Series Research Archives
Years ago I posted some of my research information on my website. When the website was updated the old research information was archived. I thought it might be fun to take a look at some of the archives for the leopard series as we get closer to the release date for Leopard's Scar.
Not all of the pictures or links are still available, but if they were I've included them.
Does anyone remember these?

Welcome to my research page on the Leopard Series. I really enjoy working on these books. This page is a collection of information that inspired and aided me in creating my stories. In time I will be adding more to this section. I hope you enjoy!

~BORNEO RAIN FOREST~
By definition a rainforest is a dense tropical or subtropical forest characterized by lush vegetation and relatively high temperatures and rainfall throughout the year. All of the rainforests in the world account for only about seven percent of the earth’s land mass and yet they contain more than fifty percent of the worlds’ animal and plant species! The Borneo Rain forest is one of these amazing ecosystems.

Located off the coast of southeast Asia, Borneo is one of the biggest islands in the world. The rainforest that this island harbors is unique and sadly diminishing quickly. Half of the worlds’ annual tropical timber comes from this one island! The Borneo rainforest is unique because it is the last remaining habitat for many endangered species including the Bornean Orangutan, the Sumatran Rhinoceros, the Asian Elephant and the Clouded Leopard.

~LEOPARDS~
The leopard is a big cat belonging to the family Pantherinae, a sub family of Felidae, which also includes jaguars, lions and tigers. There are actually three species of big cats that are lumped together under the title “leopard”. These are the Snow Leopard, the Clouded Leopard and the Persian Leopard. The Clouded Leopard is found through South East Asia, (from Nepal and southern China through Thailand, Indonesia and Borneo.) The Snow Leopard is a dwindling species that can be found across twelve countries in Central Asia. Sadly these beautiful creatures are numbering only about 5,000. Lastly the Persian Leopard is probably the most endangered of the three with only about 25 individuals existing in Armenia.

Leopard's Scar: My Thoughts

I wanted to share some thoughts and behind the scenes of the writing of Leopard's Scar.

When writing a book in a series I pretty much know which character I’ll write about next. For the Leopard series it was going to be Gorya. His book was in my head, and I knew his story. I sat down to write it and suddenly this total stranger shows up! She was loud in my mind and so vivid in her character that I couldn’t stop thinking about her. This was not Gorya’s woman. I knew that.
Then another stranger showed up. Handsome, smooth, sophisticated and wild. Lethal. I tried to ignore him and go back to Gorya but those two strangers had other ideas.

Meiling is such an amazing character. She’s strong, self-reliant, funny even. The more she spoke up, the more I knew I had to write about her. He was extraordinary and unique. And he was unlike other characters in this series in many ways. But he was certainly a leopard. I wasn’t going to be able to write Gorya’s book until I wrote the story of these two strangers. And something inside me said they had to come first, I just didn’t know why yet.

So, Meiling and Gedeon took over the position of Gorya’s book.
These two new characters went back and forth between New Orleans and San Antonio. And they stirred things up. It was tense and I worried that issues with previous characters, that I love, wasn’t going to end well.
When I got toward the end of the book I realized this had to take place first for Gorya’s book to be written. It couldn’t have happened any other way. And I’m excited for readers to find out why.
