A recent study by the ASPCA looked at how people pick a shelter pet. The Wall Street Journal reports that the research, conducted by the animal-advocacy organization from January through May of 2011, involved five shelters across the country. About 1,500 adopters filled out questionnaires explaining how they knew the cat or dog was “the one.”

It’s always a thrill to see your book reviewed in a national magazine, especially when the review is as wonderful as the one Purrs of Wisdom received from Sally Rosenthal, who reviews books for Best Friends Magazine. Hey, everyone! Today is a big day for me! It’s my birthday! I’m three years old! Mom says she can’t believe it,she saysI still look and act like a kitten.
This is what I looked like the day I came home with Mom. Can’t she see that I’ve grown since then? I’m a big girl now!
