Corpalism by Arun D. Ellis
Women’s Talk

“Delores, welcome to ‘Women’s Talk’ …the show where anything goes, and quite often does.” The studio audience settled further into their chairs, hoping for more fireworks of the kind they’d read about in #60 minutes tweets over the past few days.

“Hello, I’m very happy to be here.” said Delores, looking glorious.

She was seated snugly between the show’s resident co-hosts Cynthia Tate, an aging but still reasonably attractive TV actress and Laura Dawson, a flamboyant celebrity cook. The other two seats on the panel this week had been given to Dawn Gleeson, a pouty-mouthed, up-coming actress in the new Vampire movie trilogy; seated on Laura’s right and Tish White, the brash ‘might be Lesbian but who knows, anything goes, these days’ Chick Lit author with a new book to promote who was sitting to the left of Cynthia. The show’s producer had deliberately set it up that way, contrasting Delores’ film star glamour with the ‘mumsy’ Cynthia and the slightly blowsy Laura. It also gave Dawn Gleeson the opportunity to shine without immediate detrimental comparison being made between her contrived ‘sex on legs’ look and Delores’ effortless stylish beauty. That minor concession had gained the producer box seats to a theatre of his choice. For her part, Dawn had been instructed by her agent to avoid controversy, say little and endeavour to look completely lovely whilst so doing.

“It’s really good to have you on the show,” said Laura, “I must admit we’ve been very interested in some of the things you’ve been saying recently.”

“Yes,” agreed Tish White, “I think you’ve set a few cats among some very established pigeons.”

“We have to ask though, Delores,” said Cynthia, “why the change? What’s happened?”

“I guess it might seem a bit odd, it being me saying this stuff but, well, I don’t know, it just needs saying, I think.”

“It is odd coming from you.” agreed Cynthia “I hope you don’t mind me saying so.”

“No of course not,” said Delores, “to be honest I hear what I’m saying sometimes and yes it does seem a bit odd to be coming out of my mouth, but, you know, it just feels like someone should say something, something like, oh I don’t know, like the emperor has no clothes on.”

“Yes, but you really didn’t strike me as being someone who cared much about all that,” chipped in Dawn Gleeson, smile in place, her voice a breath.

“You’re right, Dawn,” agreed Delores, amiable as ever, “and to tell the truth I didn’t, at least I don’t ever remember thinking about it too much but obviously it has bothered me, though why it’s waited until now to be an issue with me, I really don’t know.”

“You speak of your views as somehow being separate from yourself,” observed Laura, “why is that?”

“Well, you’re right, I do” said Delores, “and in a way, they are.”

“Your speaking out the way you have has been ….very… erm….” said Dawn, unable to keep silent.

“Peculiar,” laughed Delores, “and you’re right …we women, we’re used to keeping our real views to ourselves aren’t we?”

“Yes, indeed,” said Tish, whose writing career was built on it. “Although we do get to express some of what we think, this is still a male dominated world.”

“Surely though…we’ve not done too badly out of it?” Laura’s tone was light but definite; she was aware that daytime telly attracted male viewers as well.

“Exactly,” said Delores, “and to be honest I don’t think I’ve been surrounded too much by overbearing men…but I think society as a whole gets to you.”

“Yes,” agreed Cynthia, still raw from losing a part that would’ve been perfect for her but for her bloody age, “women really are encouraged to accept a back seat in life right from their early days.”

“That’s right,” agreed Tish, “and our views are very often dismissed as silly nonsense.”

“Not only that,” agreed Delores, “but don’t you also sometimes feel that what some women say is silly nonsense, almost like it’s either a self fulfilling statement or that we are so brainwashed that even we view other women’s comments as somehow less well thought out than men’s.”

“I think you’re right,” said Laura, “I think we’re our own worst enemies when it comes to that sort of thing.”

“Yes,” agreed Tish, laughing to soften her words, “men have it all their own way; they have it all so easy, don’t they.”

“Well,” said Delores, leaning forward and peering round Cynthia to address Tish fully, “here’s where I have to disagree with you, not all men have it their own way,” She leaned back and faced the camera, “… and that I think is one of the problems, we over generalise.”

“Over generalise?” said Cynthia, “how do you mean?”

“Well,” said Delores, “I think we really need to look at what is being achieved by marginalizing women, at how it’s achieved and what else is really going on.”

“Okay,” said Laura, “and do you have a view on this?”

“Well, of course I do,” laughed Delores.
The others smiled and nodded, “tell us then,” said Laura, grinning.

“It’s all about control isn’t it,” said Delores, “about making people toe the line.”

“Right,” said Cynthia, the others made encouraging noises.

“If we think about it logically, women have been completely marginalized to the back row that much is clear, a man’s view is so much more relevant and thoughtful, and a man has more bearing.”

“And an aging man is more attractive.” Cynthia slipped it in quickly.

“So they tell us,” said Laura lightly, ever ratings aware.

“Quite so,” said Delores, “but it’s also a fact that men have their own hierarchy in society, that some men carry more weight than others, that some men have more power than others and more authority, but what is that based on?”

“Exactly,” agreed Tish, “don’t you sometimes feel that the men at the top are just plain idiots.”

“And there we go again” said Delores, “because that’s the way society trains us.”

“What do you mean?” asked Dawn, drawn in again, despite her brief.

“Well, you said the men at the top,” said Delores.

“But it’s always men at the top,” said Tish.

“I know,” said Delores, “but when we say ‘the men at the top’ don’t you feel we’re instantly grouping all men into that category simply because all men are above women in the pecking order.”

“That’s true,” said Cynthia, “but it’s also true that all men are above women when it comes to being heard and seen.”

“I know,” said Delores, “but we need to look at the reasons for this, the underlying pressures or motivation.”

“I see you’ve given this some thought,” said Laura, trying for humour.

“Well, actually no,” said Delores, “or at least I didn’t know I had.” she amended, laughing.

“Well, you couldn’t do any worse than some of these men,” said Tish, “they’ve made a complete mess of everything, haven’t they?”

“Hey…I don’t know about you girls, but I’m very happily married to a man.” Laura interjected, leaning round Delores and giving Tish a serious look.

“Laura, I’m not attacking men,” said Delores, “just the system that creates the division between men and women and all I’m really asking is why is it there and who put it there?”

“Men put it there,” said Tish unrepentantly, “and it’s men who want it there.”

“But is that really so?” asked Delores, “I mean, as Laura says, we all have men in our lives, does your partner treat you like a second class citizen?”

“Ah,” said Tish, archly “you’re assuming I have a partner.”

“Well,” added Laura, quickly “My Gavin wouldn’t dare treat me like that.”

“Exactly, and I’ll bet they all support you in your work as many other men support their wives and daughters, so the question is if most men not only want to support their women but are eager to, then where does this ‘battle of the sexes’ come from?”

She looked across Laura to Dawn who shrugged albeit extremely prettily. Laura shook her head. Delores turned to Cynthia and Tish. Finally Tish offered “Society as a whole, whatever that means?

“Exactly,” said Delores, “but we’re a part of that society, which means we have a big role to play in creating what is commonly referred to as ‘a woman’s place’.”

“Well yes,” said Tish, “isn’t it always a woman who spoils her son and ‘mothers’ her man?”

“But don’t men spoil their women?” asked Delores, “You see, we’re getting back to the same old argument without looking at the deeper issue.”

“I don’t see what you mean,” said Laura. ”And I’m sure our viewers would like you to explain.”

“Well,” said Delores, “the way society works there are gradings, first there’s gender, obviously, but then there’s race, then colour, then religion etc. so the lowest rated male in the pecking order is higher and better than the highest rated women.”

“Which is what we’ve been saying,” Cynthia nodded, finalising the comment.

“Yes,” said Delores, “but the men in our lives don’t think that way when it comes to their women or to other women in general, not really.”

“Oh come on Delores,” said Tish, “most men love being the boss of the household.”

“Do you really believe that, Tish?” said Delores, “Do men really believe they’re the bosses of the household?”

“And they love earning more than us,” said Cynthia sharply.

“But that’s only natural, who wouldn’t love earning more than their partner?” said Delores, “but really, most men would love to play golf or sit around playing video games if their women could earn enough to facilitate that …so what are we really saying?”

“I don’t know now,” said Dawn, “I think I’m really confused.”

They all laughed.

“What I’m saying,” said Delores, “is that someone is playing with us, someone has put a concept of society in place that we all adhere to but that we all constantly reject all the while we’re constantly reinforcing its message.”

“I have to ask this…are you really the Delores Grey we all knew and loved or have you been abducted by aliens and replaced by a super robot?” said Laura laughing.

“Well, I know that some of what I’m saying certainly doesn’t fit with my image but I also know that I’ve always kind of felt it deep down, so I don’t know. As for the ‘40 days and 40 nights’ thing, well I still have no idea what that’s all about, all I know is that now I have to speak out, to tell it the way it is, or at least the way I see it.”

“And that’s a highly commendable place to take a break, ladies” said Laura interrupting with some relief. “We’ll be back in 5 minutes with more from the delectable Delores Grey.”

They all sat back in their chairs and looked out at the audience who were shifting in their seats, mobile phones coming out of handbags and whispered conversations breaking out all over the studio floor.

“That went well.” said Laura, hoping for a giggle from her colleagues.

“How do you see it, Delores?” asked Tish, “We’ve been all over the place with this and I don’t feel we’ve quite got to the bottom of where you want to be.”

“No we haven’t,” said Delores, “but we’ve identified that for some reason we all, both men and women, adhere to a system that none of us naturally believes in, and that in the natural order of things we’d create a society with values very different from the ones we have today.”

“Come on, you lot,” Laura said, gathering them together like recalcitrant junior chefs, “let’s have a break, too, shall we?”

“But if that’s the case,” said Tish, “why do we have the society we have? How does that come about?”

“I think we all have the answer,” said Delores, “… if we really think about it.”

“Oh I don’t,” said Dawn.” I know I don’t have any answers.”

“Me neither,” said Tish, “Come on Delores, we know you’re dying to tell us your views.”

“Think about it, it all stems from the Bible.”

“The Bible?” Dawn’s voice, no longer breathy but a squeak; “you mustn’t say anything against the Bible, Delores, and certainly not on TV.”

“Why not?” asked Delores.

“Because Christianity is the meaning of all life,” said Dawn, agent’s advice out the window, “You don’t believe in God but he does exist and Jesus was his only son and he sacrificed himself to save us.”

“Okay,” said Delores, “but tell me, where did the bible come from?”

“From the disciples,” said Dawn, proud of her knowledge.

“That’s not exactly right,” said Laura, free to speak without the mikes and the cameras, “I saw a programme about the New Testament having been written 300 years after the death of Christ or something.” She frowned, “… and didn’t the Romans write it?”

“That’s right,” said Tish, “and they decided what went in and what didn’t.”

“The Old testament or parts of it was written in about 1500 BC according to another programme I watched.” Laura added.

“I don’t think we should be discussing the bible.” said Dawn, her voice threatening tears.

“And didn’t I hear somewhere that Mary Magdalene was written out of it,” said Cynthia, “that she wasn’t actually just a fallen woman who Jesus kept around; she was his main disciple, not Peter.”

“Not only did the Romans write the bible,” said Delores, “and decide what should or should not be in it, they then exported it to every corner of their empire and do you know what they realised…? They realised that religion was more powerful than a hundred legions; that their churches could bring in more money than their armies ever did. That people would willingly hand over their gold to the servants of God whereas before they would have fought to the death to defend it.”

“I think you’ll find that religion is a lot more than just gold collection.” said Dawn tightly, her ‘sex on legs’ image seriously under threat.

“SSSH” hissed Laura, “no more BIBLE talk …we’re back live”…

She smiled at the camera, “and we’re back with more scintillating commentary on world affairs with our special guest, Delores Grey…”

“…they realised that in spreading religion they could use the church to uphold the rights of kings and queens and thereby earn the undying loyalty of the ruling classes who would gladly sacrifice a little of their people’s treasures to preserve their positions as monarchs appointed by the divine hand, we’ve all heard of the ‘Divine right of Kings’ haven’t we, so just imagine how powerful a tool religion was to the Romans, they could offer the ruling classes God’s sanction and confirmation that the ‘ruled’, that is the peasants, would accept these kings and queens without question because the church said that their rule was by divine appointment.”

They were all staring at her now, the panel, the audience, the producer and Dawn’s agent, the production team in the box; the famous breath control was at work, carrying everything along like a tsunami. There was a pause while her words still echoed then Dawn’s voice filled the air space, a still small voice, “God is the highest of all beings and he determines everything in our world.”

“And did God also determine that woman is less than man?” asked Delores.

“The bible says…” began Dawn.

“We all know what the bible says; they make sure to teach us that before we’re old enough to argue. It says that evil woman tempted innocent man into committing original sin. That woman bit the apple first and that man was lead astray by the evil in woman, that’s why half of the world’s religions demand that women hide themselves away so as not to tempt man and why the other half demand women have no say in things, because the bible says that women are sinful.”

“No,” countered Dawn, shaking her head violently, disturbing an expensively casual coiffure; “it just says….”

From his place off stage Dawn’s agent groaned. “Can’t you stop this?” he hissed at the producer, the recent grateful recipient of theatre tickets. “Are you mad?” was the rejoinder, “this is great TV!”

“It does say that, Dawn…” Tish spoke quietly, sadly “and it clearly blames women.”

“Yes,” added Laura, ‘ratings be damned’, “according to the bible it’s all women’s fault that man was kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Isn’t that crazy, our whole gender is blamed for the state of man, for the state of the world even.”

“And this is the really amazing bit …I mean; we all know what men want right? Well most men, anyway,” she conceded, thinking of Patrick and David, “Yet they have this story that blames women for the fact that that’s all they want. It’s our fault that men are sex crazed idiots and we, therefore, have to hide ourselves away so that they don’t have to control their urges, what’s that all about?”

“Yeah, and somehow it’s our fault if they can’t control themselves,” added Tish.

“It’s all about power and control, the church has successfully classified kings and queens as ruling by divine hand, the wealthy as prospering as a result of their piousness whilst the poor are poor because of their depravity, hence the differential between ‘deserving’ and ‘undeserving’ poor, the ‘deserving’ having recognised their unworthiness. Oh…and women are less than men because of their predilection to tempt all men. How true is any of that?”

“Wow.” Tish was seriously impressed; she could use some of this stuff for the next book.

Dawn’s credibility as a sultry siren was fast unraveling, she was almost unable to keep her seat; she so wanted to throw herself at Delores and stop her speaking.

“Let’s de-bunk some of this, shall we? Myth 1– Kings and Queens are divine beings – rubbish. Kings and queens of old were murdering bastards who ruled with a rod of iron. Myth 2 – the rich prosper out of godliness – more rubbish. They gained their wealth by royal patronage and taxing and stealing from the masses. Myth 3 - the poor are poor because they’re depraved – yet more rubbish. They’re poor because of their naivety and childlike belief in, oh yes, Kings and Queens, the Church and the order of things. Finally, Myth 4 - women are evil and deliberately seductive – the biggest nonsense of all. Women are sexually attractive to men because they are the opposite sex to men; it’s not hard to see, is it? It’s the same for every species on the planet, you can see it in any mating ritual on the Discovery channel but this truth has been reversed and buried under the eternal lie fostered upon us by the church. That’s what the bible has achieved and that’s why our society is divided and divided again. That’s why we are never working as one, because religion was designed to divide and rule the masses,” she broke off and looked deliberately round the room, “but the big question is, for what purpose and by whom?”

“You can’t say that,” said Dawn, her tone anything but dulcet, a shrieked injunction rather, “ok, women are getting the rough end of the stick …but you can’t say that God is the cause …you just can’t.”

“That’s it …you’ve got to get her off” he snarled. The producer was nowhere to be seen.

“Dawn,” said Delores, “I think you’re missing the point. There is no God, God didn’t have a hand in this; God is their excuse for imposing this crazy belief system upon us to divide us.”

“Now you’re just being silly,” said Dawn, striving desperately for calm, “I know there are those who don’t believe but the bible clearly….”

Cynthia leaned away from the table, reaching her arm round Delores’ back to nudge Laura. She indicated Dawn, soundlessly urging her co-host to ‘do something.’

“To be fair, Dawn” Laura said gently, “The bible doesn’t clearly do anything.”

Cynthia let out an explosion of air, ‘not helpful, Laura’, “Dawn, could you pass me the water, please, we only have sparkling down this end.”

“In fact, we’ve only had Christianity for 2,000 years,” said Tish, “before that didn’t pagan women enjoy a more equal position in society?”

“In fact I think that in some societies women were the more important people pre Christianity,” offered Laura, the need to please her male audience totally forgotten.

“Of all the species on the planet,” said Delores, “we are the only ones to believe in God and we are the only ones to force our women to hide themselves away.”

“Other species can’t believe in God,” laughed Dawn, recovering slightly, “they don’t even think. They’re just dumb animals.”

“It’s not what I meant,” said Delores, “yet you raise an obvious issue without even realizing it,” Dawn deflated visibly, “you say that other species are too dumb to believe in gods but we’re so advanced and technological that we believe in a super natural story of supreme beings that was thought up thousands of years ago by our primitive ancestors who thought that the sun and planets revolved around the earth, who believed that the gods looked down upon us through windows in the heavens, that is to say, stars, so, yes, we’re so advanced that we believe in something that is so clearly fantastical that it’s possible that these ‘dumb animals’ you speak of so derogatively, just might be more intelligent than us.”

“Oh now, hold on…” said Laura.

“That is so wrong on so many levels I don’t know where to begin,” said Dawn.

“Do we see females of any other species treated as second class citizens by the males of said species? I don’t think so. Do female pigs have to wear a burqa because their pink flesh drives male pigs mad with desire?”

Tish stifled a giggle, whilst some in the audience could be seen to get up, seeking exit doors.

“That’s Islam,” defended Dawn, “that’s a completely different religion.”

“Oh, don’t be silly,” said Tish, leaning forward and hissing across the length of the table at Dawn, “it wasn’t long ago that women had to cover themselves up in this country, hell we’re still being told now that if we wear something provocative then we are asking for it, all religions are the same, if they don’t categorically state it then they definitely imply that women should hide their bodies and it’s their fault if they don’t and men are tempted.”

“And it’s a fact that as you get older you’re supposed to blend and wear frumpy clothes to avoid being derided. You wait, Dawn; it’ll happen to you one day.” Cynthia spoke with conviction borne of bitter experience.

“And what about Judaism?” said Laura, “Didn’t I read something just the other day about what’s been happening in Israel; it all started with them banning women from singing in public because their voices were too seductive.”

“The point is, ladies that before the spread of Christianity and the bible women were more equal, as was society itself, so we have to ask, what happened?”

“I don’t know how you can say all this,” said Dawn, “The bible clearly says that Jesus was the most gentle of men and that he even helped Mary Magdalene and other women…”

“Yes but they killed him,” interrupted Delores, “did you ever stop to question why?”

“Because he upset the Pharisees and Sadducees.” said Dawn.

“But did he?” asked Delores, “All we actually have to go on is what’s in the New Testament and as we’ve already agreed it was written 300 years after the death of Jesus, and the Romans wrote it and they were the ones who decided what went in and what didn’t and we all know what the Romans were like, how can we trust them?”

“But Matthew and Mark wrote their parts, as did Luke and John,” Dawn’s voice broke, “and Jesus was the son of God…,”

“And that’s exactly why they killed him…now think on this a minute will you, the God of the Old Testament is a vengeful God, ‘Yahweh’ or whatever he was called, he’s into all sorts of violence and punishments but Jesus seems to have been a decent person, someone who wanted us all to live together in peace. Can this really have been that same God’s son? The Jews themselves were waiting for another David and let’s face it; David was a psychopath by anyone’s standards.”

“I don’t think you can say that.” said Dawn, her voice muted.

“Ah, come on Dawn,” said Delores, “David …………all that killing? Sending the husband of the woman he lusted after to the front line, to certain death? These are clearly the actions of a psychopath. Jesus did not fit this category at all.”

“I’m confused now,” said Cynthia, “are you saying you don’t believe in the bible per se but that you do believe in Jesus?”

“I believe that Jesus did exist and I think the bible was constructed by psychotic men who wanted to control the masses,” She turned her direct gaze on each of them individually. “I don’t see those two things as mutually incompatible, do you?”

The panel and the audience held its collective breath.

“God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.” said Dawn who had a stubborn streak.

“With which to control the masses,” said Tish, “it’s really just like rules at work, isn’t it? I mean, Moses going off into the hills to speak to God alone, come on, how naive are we?”

“As I said, I believe that Jesus did exist but I don’t believe that he was the son of God because there are no gods and in fact, I don’t believe that Jesus really claimed to be the son of God.”

“Just speculation,” interjected Dawn irritably. ”You can’t know that”.

“No more can you know that he did!” snapped Delores “And let’s not forget that apparently claiming to be the son of God is what got Jesus killed, now I ask you, was that really a sensible thing for him to do?”.

“It wasn’t a question of being sensible,” said Dawn, “Jesus is the son of God.”

“But the only evidence we have of him saying that is in the bible and we know who wrote the bible. …Just say for argument’s sake that something else happened. Let’s just pretend for a moment that Jesus lived in a community where there was very little tolerance of women or foreigners; that he lived in a world full of hatred. From his teachings it sounds like Jesus went around saying that the Jewish faith was wrong. Now then, tell me, just how well do you think that’s going to go down? Coming from a carpenter’s son, to boot? Then all of a sudden he claims to be the son of God? Come on, doesn’t that actually sound like a disinformation campaign?”

“A what?” asked Laura, whilst Cynthia nodded slowly, getting it.

“Doesn’t it sound like someone spread a rumour that Jesus said ‘I am the son of God’ or something like that?” said Delores, “so that they could then get him arrested for blasphemy and then executed by the hated enemy, the Romans.”

“Well, when you put it like that,” said Tish, “it begins to sound plausible.”

“Jesus is the son of God and he died for us, that includes you too Delores, so I think you should stop now and leave God and Jesus alone.” said Dawn, stoutly.

“You mean leave your personal faith system alone,” said Delores, “because I’m guessing that you depend on it, don’t you, Dawn.”

“I’m a Christian yes,” said Dawn, pride overriding career ambitions as a sex goddess, “but a Christian with a small ‘c’.”

“Which means what?” demanded Delores, “that you believe but don’t go church much?”

“It means that I accept that there is a God and that Jesus is his son,” said Dawn, “but no, I don’t go to confession or anything.”

“Ah,” said Delores, “A catholic, totally brainwashed, I should have guessed.”

“That’s not fair,” said Dawn, “I’ve not criticised you, have I?”

“But I think Delores’ main point,” interjected Cynthia, employing an obvious diversionary tactic, “is that religion is a tool used to keep women down, as it were.”

“And as such, it’s been ingrained in us since childhood,” mused Tish.

“It keeps men in their place also,” said Delores, “but the questions we should ask are ‘for what purpose’ and ‘by whom’?”

“Ok then, Delores, who and why?” asked Laura, gauntlet down.

“That’s a tricky question, because nowadays we impose those rules on ourselves.” She felt their repudiation of her words, “you won’t like to accept it but we force ourselves to accept the roles the bible demands of us. Who knows if it was all down to the Caesars wanting to make their rule more secure; they’re gone now. If the system was set in place to raise money for the wealthy Romans and to protect their position, they’ve long since disappeared, yet we still live by their code, slaves of a self feeding system that serves no practical purpose other than to divide and rule.”

“Where are you going with this now?” said Laura.

“I’m not criticising the teachings of Jesus; his beliefs about ‘do as you would be done by’…seems fair, the widow’s mite, the eye of a needle stories and such are all good, it’s just the church that has manipulated his teachings to seek best advantage for itself because, well let’s face it, Church inc., it’s the biggest business in the world isn’t it?.”

There was a gasp from the audience and few more headed for the exits.

“What about Islam?” asked Dawn, mounting a last ditch defence of her faith; when in doubt attack another one, “surely that’s more damaging to the rights of women?”

“Very damaging, here again women are blamed for men’s lack of self control, here again women are cast as the lesser of the species, the same things apply, it’s all just divide and rule. If women are to achieve true equality in this world, if women are to rise up and find their rightful place then all religions must go and not until that time has come will the world know peace.”

“Delores, do you have any idea what you’re saying?” Dawn turned on Laura, “This is your programme, why are you letting her say all this? Why don’t you stop her?”

“Peace?” questioned Cynthia, “not sure where you’re going with that one, Delores.”

“It’s the yin and the yang of things, men and women are two halves of the same whole but if one half is constantly downtrodden then the other half will determine the rule of law and that leads to imbalance and, in the case of male domination, quite often to tyranny.”

“Yes,” said Tish, “I’m sure that if it were the other way round the world would be a far better place.”

“But would it?” said Delores, “That’s not what I’m saying. We must remember that we are just one half of the whole; if women had the power then the world would be a different place sure but who knows what it would be like, it certainly wouldn’t be perfect because for it to be perfect both man and woman must be equal and rule together and that’s yin and yang.”

“And there we must leave it” Laura’s voice was a gasp, “we’ll be back next week with….”

If they lied about 9/11, WMDs in Iraq, Vietnam etc could everything we think we know about WWII also be a lie - how deep is this rabbit hole

Now here's the thing - Jeremy Corbyn and Bernie Sanders - the dream ticket for the left.

Both are cut from the same cloth, both are socialists and both are attacked from all quarters of the political spectrum. Both are under a constant barrage of character assassination in the media and from so called political elites. Clearly the 1% does not want them to succeed but equally clearly they are the choice of a large proportion of the 99%.

Let's look for comparisons in history - obviously at the top of the list we find Jesus, a socialist by anyone's standards.

He wanted to bring an end to usury; now the practice of making unethical or immoral monetary loans that unfairly enrich the lender, in Jesus' time simply the practice of making profit out lending to others, less fortunate.

He wanted to feed the poor, and suggested that rich men might not achieve the Kingdom of Heaven.
Neither of these things was likely to endear him to prosperous Jews of the day.

The Jewish leaders had him crucified and have slandered his name ever since and the Romans persecuted his followers.

It wasn't until Roman Emperor Constantine [306-337 A.D.], 270 years after the death of Christ, that Jesus started getting a good press.

However the Jews have never accepted him or Christianity.

Moving on through the centuries you find notable revolutionaries from all societies - easy examples would be those whose objections lead to revolutions - like the Levellers and the Planters in England, Oliver Cromwell although he did represent his own wealthy class, the American Revolutionaries although their leaders did also have an eye on power for themselves, the French Revolutionaries and Napoleon.

In the 1800s Europe was full of revolutionaries all trying to rouse the will of the people, often to no avail, and so it went on through to the Russian Revolution.

Then we come to the German revolution and National Socialism - decried as the most evil of all revolutions.

We are told that Hitler wanted revenge for the German defeat in WWI and that he ultimately intended to conquer the entire world.

We are told that he either had an inexplicable hatred for the Jews or he merely used hatred of them to unite the German people behind him so that he could fulfil his plans.

We are told that the Nazis were evil fascists who imprisoned the innocent and murdered without compunction, that they were the most evil of all racists and that they perfected murder on an industrial scale.

We are told that Hitler issued verbal orders to his closest aides and that they then passed these on via euphemisms such as 'final solution', or 'evacuation' but that these really meant extermination and murder.

We are told that when they retreated from the allies the Nazis destroyed all the gas chambers and any evidence of their crimes, the deceased having been long since cremated.

We are told that those emaciated figures found in the concentration camps were deliberately starved by the Germans, a crime which received swift and immediate justice from the liberating forces; prison guards summarily executed.

This is what we are taught in school, and shown on TV, in the cinema, in museums, by our elected political leaders, by the political Left, Centre and Right.

However

We are not told that Hitler introduced better working conditions for the workers at a time when British Tories and Whigs were forcing long hours for low pay on our workers and were sending in the army to beat up the miners.

We are not told that he introduced better housing at a time when Brits lived in perpetual squalor.

We are not told that he ordered the design of an easily affordable peoples car - the VW beetle

We are not told that he ordered cheap cruises for workers through the 'strength through joy' programme [incidentally these ships were refused permission to dock in British ports for fear they would stir up the masses].

We are not told that he fixed a minimum wage and a maximum wage, reduced working hours, introduced proper canteens and changing rooms in factories.

We are not told that he introduced health care before the war, and the first protection for animals and put in place restrictions on hunting.

We are not told that he introduced a better education system.

We are not told that he said that money should only be earned from labour and not the labour of others or investment in the labour of others.

We are not told that he reduced unemployment from several million to almost zero before the war broke out.

We are not told that Hitler was on the left, not the right; a socialist not a fascist.

We are not told that the National Socialist party was exactly that; a Socialist party based along national lines. The policies introduced were Socialist but, because he was also a nationalist, Hitler put Germans first.

NOTE: Many of the above listed National Socialist policies have been introduced in European countries, many at the behest of the EU.

We are also not told that:

In the 1930s the whole world was racist. Great Britain, USA, Russia and France all had empires in which there were subservient races.

Germany no longer had an empire because the allies had seized it at the end of WWI and shared it out.
Great Britain, USA, Russia and France had been responsible for crimes against humanity in their empires: - the genocide of the American Indian, the savage hacking off of limbs in Belgium controlled Congo, the original concentration camps in the Boer war where a third of all Boer women and children died of typhus, the massacre of indigenous populations in all of the empires.

None of these can be placed at Hitler's door but all had occurred within his lifetime.

We are also not told that:

Hitler did not start WWII. The Poles took heart when told by Britain that if attacked by Germany she would be defended, to such an extent that they threatened Germany and made unreasonable demands.

Polish leaders drafted plans for the territory they would claim from Germany when she was defeated by the British and French in the coming war.

When provoked beyond reason the Germans attacked Poland and Britain and France declared war. However, they did not move to protect Poland nor did they act when Poland was invaded by Russia.
Eventually the war proper started but it was not to protect Poland.

We are not told that:

Before the war that there was no suggestion of a plan for the Jews other than to deport them to a new Jewish homeland i.e. Palestine.

We are not told that:

The concentration camps in Germany were slave labour camps, not murder camps and that the spread of typhus had been the result of the relentless allied bombing campaign that prevented stocks of Zyklon B (DDT type pesticide) from reaching the camps.

We are not told that:

The British army in South Africa faced the same problem when typhus killed thousands of Boer women and children incarcerated in the British invented concentration camps.

We are not told that:

After the war and the liberation of the lice and typhus infested work camps where thousands of emaciated bodies and starving Jews were found was when the concept of a deliberate policy to exterminate the Jews was first given credence.
In their initial revulsion the liberating troops carried out summary executions of the camp guards saving the officers for execution after the Nuremberg trials.

We are not told that:

There is no physical evidence to support the concept of gas chambers. Those at Auschwitz are mock ups of what a gas chamber was thought to have looked like. There is evidence of a theatre, football pitch and a swimming pool within the prisoner compound.

There is nothing left of the Treblinka camp and no suitable foundation of a gas chamber has been identified.

It is not well known that:

The figure of those who died at Auschwitz has been revised to 1 million, from a previous claim of 4 million.

We are not told that:

Churchill described National Socialism as the greatest evil on earth.

He hated Hitler and National Socialism, why?
If National Socialism spread as a political doctrine, in particular if the concept of money being earned from labour and not the labour of others or investment in the labour of others and the maximum wage were to be taken up in Britain it would mean the end of the way of life of the wealthy and the end of the Empire.

We are not told that:

Churchill pursued the war after Dunkirk not because of the Jews, not because of Poland but to destroy National Socialism because it liberated the people at the same time as retaining national identity.

Real reasons for the American Civil War

Americans think that the Civil War was about slavery - naturally they're wrong - it was about greed and power as always.

Re Greed - The Southern rich had most of their wealth tied up in slaves. The whole US had benefited from income generated by the slave trade and the production of cotton but when it came time to free the slaves the South wanted compensation but the wealthy in the North wouldn't pay so the wealthy in the South had no choice but to hold onto their slaves and agitate for independence.

Re Power - it was always a question of State Power over Federal Power - in the end the States lost because the populace of the North were deceived into thinking they were fighting to free the slaves, they weren't they were fighting to enforce the power of those who rule behind the curtain of Central Government.

This is proven for when the war ended the ex-slaves were left to get on with it themselves - but what of reconstruction you say - that wasn't for the benefit of the slaves, that was to ensure that the South could never rise again.

Now the 99% in America are all slaves to the 1% and the Federal Government has the power to crush any rebellion, be it localised or on a state basis - do not be deceived - the USA is now ruled by a secret rich elite and there's nothing that the 99% can do about it because they do not posses the will or the power to unite and overthrow their new masters - so much for the American dream.

Who started WWI?

To start with I will observe the traditional custom of referring to the protagonists by their national identification and where pertinent by their leaders but then as now all decisions were taken by groups of powerful and wealthy men who took great pains to avoid any public attention.

To begin then, we are taught that a bunch of Serbian terrorists from a small and little supported terror group [does this sound familiar?] sneaked into Bosnia and murdered the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne during a well publicised state visit.

Naturally the Austro-Hungarian Emperor was unhappy but unjustifiably he presented the Serbians with a harsh ultimatum that we are told represented the end of Serbian independence, much along the lines of ultimatums that the other powers often delivered to third world countries when they were planning to expand their empires.

Naturally Russia the champion of the regional Slavic peoples responded by threatening Austro-Hungary with war unless she retracted. Austro-Hungary then sought support from Germany before sending her forces against the Serbs. Russia declared war on Austro-Hungary and Germany declared war on Russia.

France then honoured her treaty with Russia and declared war on Germany and Austro-Hungary. Germany responded by declaring war on France and instigating the Schlieffen Plan violating Belgium neutrality bringing Great Britain into the war.

That at least is what we are taught.

But closer inspection reveals the following.

The so called insignificant Serbian terrorists were supported and financed by the Serbian secret service who were in turn supported and financed by the Russian secret service. The implication is naturally that the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was financed and planed in Russia.

Why?

Well, the Great Game played out in the Far East between Britain and Russia had come to a mutually agreed end meaning that Russia would have to look elsewhere for her warm water port and the most suitable spot happened to be the Balkans. Control of the Balkans, however, was considered crucial to the survival of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. To gain a warm water port in the Mediterranean Russia would have to defeat the Austro-Hungarian Empire and gain control of the Balkans, something that Germany would not accept.

Therefore, the plot to assassinate the Archduke was designed to draw Austro-Hungary into war but Russia would've known that any war with Austro-Hungary would by definition include war with Germany and Russia could not defeat Germany alone.

France bore a desire for revenge against Germany for her crushing defeat in the war of 1870-1871 which culminated on the creation of the German state and for the subsequent loss of Alsace-Lorraine, a bitter pill in the mouths of all Frenchmen. Rather conveniently France was Russia's ally against German aggression. France would, therefore, be committed to attack Germany if Germany declared war on Russia.

So what of Great Britain? Britain had no such treaty with France or Russia but she did act as guarantor for Belgium neutrality, although both Britain and France did have plans to invade Belgium if there was ever a war with Germany. In fact Viscount Grey, the British foreign secretary had secretly agreed to come to France's aid should she ever be attacked by Germany. This wasn't a treaty and had never been presented as such before the full British cabinet let alone Parliament, although Prime Minister Asquith was aware along with several need to know military officers, it was in fact just a gentleman's agreement but one that the French based all their military operations on. But the question is why did the British foreign secretary enter into such an informal agreement? The answer is quit simple, before German unification Great Britain was the premier industrial power of the world but by the early 20th Century Germany was rapidly catching up and winning more of the global markets, as was America. Something had to be done to ensure British economic power remained to ensure the defence of the Empire. War with America had been considered but was not an option, which just left the removal of German competition.

If this were true how could it be achieved and who actually planned it?

For the who we need look no further than the secret elite. We all know the real power lays behind the curtain, with the wealthy industrialists, the financiers, the rich banking families, the so called elites; these are the people who make all of the decisions and pull all the strings via powerful lobby groups.

So then, how was Germany duped into declaring war first? Obviously after the assassination the Austrians would respond but before they did they would've put out feelers with the other super powers of the day especially Russia. It would've taken little effort to convince the Austrians of general sympathy with their loss and understanding that some form of ultimatum would have to be delivered, after all the heir to the Austrian throne had been assassinated and all monarchs are aware how tenuous their position can be but everyone also knew that the Austrians would always check that they had the support of Germany before doing anything. The key then was to convince the Kaiser that the rest of Europe's elites supported Austrian indignation to the extent that any ultimatum would be acceptable. This could be achieved via sympathetic and encouraging noises from King George and Tsar Nicholas, both cousins of the Kaiser.

Once confident of British and Russian sympathy for the Austrian position the Kaiser would've offered support to the Austrian ultimatum which they would've duly delivered to the Serbs. Then the trap begins to close on Germany and the Kaiser.

Russia declared the ultimatum unreasonable and secretly partially mobilised against Germany; this was the crucial part of the puzzle. Germany could not fight both Russia and France, a war on two fronts was impossible hence the Schlieffen Plan. Germany's only hope of victory was always to knock France out of any war before the Russians managed full mobilisation. To achieve this Germany would have to declare war before Russia began mobilisation against Germany giving her a presumed 2 to 4 weeks to achieve victory over France before shifting her armies from West to East to meet the Russian hordes. A secret Russian partial mobilisation against Germany threatened the success of the Schlieffen Plan.

Then what of Britain; would she intercede if Germany invaded Belgium to get at France? The Kaiser believed he had received assurances from King George that Britain would remain neutral in any European conflict regarding the assassination of the Arch-Duke, was he wrong or had he been deceived?
Austria, having received assurances of German support, declared war on Serbia, Russia declared war on Austro-Hungary and began full mobilisation against Germany should Germany come to Austro-Hungary's support. Germany discovered that Russia was already several weeks into her mobilisation plans and declared war on Russia. France began mobilisation but withdrew her armies from the Franco German border. Germany was now tied into a fixed plan, she could not move her armies to face Russia and leave a fully mobilised France on her flank. Germany, therefore, declared war on France and initiated the Schlieffen Plan in its revised form. When German troops crossed Belgian borders Britain declared war on Germany.

So now we must address our original question, who started WWI? We know who wanted the war and the benefits they would gain. It is clear that the war did not serve German interests; in fact German trade and economic power was growing very fast without the need for war. In fact Germany was merely supporting an ally. France got what she wanted, the return of Alsace-Lorraine, Britain got what she wanted, German industry was reduced and her navy was scuttled. Further the Jewish lead communist revolution left Russia a big loser and of course the cherry on top - Germany was smashed and left in economic and political chaos.

But as I stated at the beginning, this just identifies nations which are generally made up of the 99%, i.e. the masses who generally speaking are not the big winners, they are in fact usually the big losers, the big winners are the financial winners, the businessmen, the shareholders, the financiers, the rich elites, the top 1% of families headed by the richest of them all, the Rothschilds.

To enable WWI to be fought for 4 long years countries had to raise money, lots of money and the biggest banking family, now as then, was the Rothschilds. They had financial houses in all of the main protagonist countries, they literally financed Governments and Monarchs and they bankrolled all sides in the nightmare of WWI. If they had refused funding then no nation could've raised enough money to continue the war and there would've been an armistice much sooner, possibly 1915, but the Rothschilds kept providing the funds to both sides and the war dragged on and on.

One more question needs to be answered, where did the Rothschilds and the other bankers get their money from? WWI cost Billions at a time when such a sum was inconceivable. Well then as now the private banks were able to create loans to the government without any physical credit at all, just the promise to pay.

There was one other little spoken of result from the war, the promise of a homeland for the Zionists. In order to ensure victory the British foreign secretary had provided Barron Rothschild with the Balfour declaration in return for American support and further finance.

So who started WWI and why? Who gained - clearly the 1% and the Zionists, who lost clearly the 99% on all sides.
