Good news: Those who objected to treating Houstonians with basic respect fail at discriminatory repeal attempt

As you surely know, the city council of Houston, Texas, passed an LGBT nondiscrimination ordinance in May. As you probably also know, an anti-LGBT coalition immediately jumped in and launched ridiculous smear campaigns designed to repeal the measure.

They have failed:

BREAKING: Petition to repeal LGBT protections falls short in Houston [Lone Star Q]

The pro-discrimination crew, operating under the duplicitous name of "No Unequal Rights," has vowed a court challenge. And, of course, they plan to...

AFA: It's not *just* gay people who are killing America

This is a blip running on the American Family Association's front page:

[AFA]

Really? It's "quite easy" to make that assertion? Because I would think even the more clear-headed day laborers at AFA's Tupelo headquarters would say it's at least difficult to make the case that a great nation is on the eve of destruction because Mitch and Cam are marrying on primetime TV. It's easy to make the case that it's 2014 or that it's August; the case for gay-masterminded doom would seem to necessitate a gr...

Third Florida judge in as many weeks calls discrimination what it is

Picture 10-98
Three judges in three weeks. That is the tally in Florida, where a Broward County Circuit Judge just became the latest to rule that the Sunshine State's marriage ban is unconstitutional. And this one throws out-of-state recognition into the mix as well:

BREAKING: Judge Rules Florida Must Recognize Out-of-State Gay Marriages [Towle]

Like the other two rulings, this one is stayed, meaning it has no practical application at this time. But it is another big step forward for a noble cause that has a...

Homo---ual: 'Ex-gay' movement moving from 'change' to stop

Religion writer Sarah Pulliam Bailey has an interesting new article detailing the fascinating changes happening within the "ex-gay" world. At the heart of the piece is the growing admission that so-called "conversion therapy" is, in fact, the total and utter hogwash that we LGBT activists have always claimed it is, which is a really positive development. However, the larger focus is on the LGB people who have learned to accept themselves but who can't reconcile their truths with what they see...

Scott Lively: LGBT activists' concern for gay Ugandans akin to what Nazis did to Jews

201402241106
Infamous activist Scott Lively, known for being a major force behind the draconian anti-gay law that a Ugandan court just overturned, is now claiming that modern advocates who have directed focus to the brutal anti-LGBT activities in this and other African nations are being both racist and Hitler-esque. Here's what that sounds like:

The evolutionist hero Charles Darwin taught that Blacks were an intermediary step in the evolutionary progression of apes into human beings, writing:

“At some futur...

Virginia's top anti-gay group invites you to marriage of Discrimination and Faith Overreach

At the end of this month, the Family Foundation of Virginia will begin its forty day fast geared toward stopping same-sex marriage in theirs, a state where multiple courts have now ruled in favor of equality. Here is the formal invite of the thoroughly faith-driven ceremony:

As is always the case with the anti-equality movement, this org. is making it all about the religious ceremony, which will not at all be affected by civil marriage equality. Those churches that oppose civil marri...

WND columnists: Gay activists, feminists are 'evil,' 'enemies of the truth'

Jesse Lee Peterson, columnist for conservative "news" site WND (formerly WorldNetDaily):

Rev.-Jesse-Lee-Peterson AvatarThen homosexual activists hijacked the “civil rights” movement along with the feminists. Today, homosexuals and feminists trump blacks. And their agenda has nothing to do with improving the lives of blacks.

America was founded on Judeo-Christian values and truth. Yet, Americans are allowing the enemies of truth to destroy this nation. They’re killing the truth, but we have become accessories to the crime.

Wh...

Anti-equality activists, news sites now admitting their side's dwindling support—even in red states

I find this bout of honesty startling, considering it's coming from a head of a state anti-LGBT group and is running on a decidedly anti-LGBT "news" site:

The media is trumpeting a new study on support of homosexual marriage [in Kentucky] as a victory for homosexuals, since it shows support has gained some ground.

...

"This poll indicates 50 percent for traditional marriage and 37 percent open to other redefinitions," advises [Kent Ostrander of the Family Foundation of Kentucky]. "But I would p...

Your anti-LGBT movement at work: Viciously denigrating stock photos of gay families

The pic is a stock photo that one can find on many sites, so Save California's Randy Thomasson might be right that these three are not actually a family. But not for the disgusting reasons he claims:

Being indoctrinated with big lies, Randy? Oh no—parents like us don't let our children read sites like yours, pal.

Maggie Gallagher's latest shows what a disservice she did to the *civil* marriage debate

If there's any name that modern Americans associate with the wrong side of the marriage equality debate, it's Maggie Gallagher. She will likely go down in history as the most prominent face of that cause. Maggie got there early and she was really loud about it. The National Organization For Marriage co-founder essentially shaped the talking points that the "protect marriage" movement uses to this day.

And as I knew then, Maggie's advocacy and overall view on marriage was largely guided by the...
