Congrats, gay activists—Bryan Fischer has found new group for his weekly 'Nazi' branding
Maggie Gallagher: Sexual orientation is 'more akin to religion' than to race
My pal John Corvino has written a compelling essay for Commonweal magazine titled "Thinking Straight?" which is running with the subtitle, "Where Social Conservatives Go Wrong on Sexuality." Social conservative Maggie Gallagher responds to Corvino's piece by going wrong on sexuality:
Here’s my view: When Christians tell me that homosexuality is “socially constructed” and therefore not a “real” permanent feature of human existence, I generally respond “I know gay people exist the same way that...

Why Colorado will soon have marriage equality courtesy of Colorado's head opponent of marriage equality
She packs a lot into these soundbites. One, there's the claim that allowing loving same-sex couples to marry somehow devalues the idea. There are also three mentions of God, his design, and his intentions, even though the conversation on the table is about the civil component of marriage. She throws in mentions of "procreation, fidelity, selflessness and a healthy future," again, as if same-sex unions somehow come at the expense or run contrary to those concepts. And then there's the idea tha...
Audio: AFA owns its extremism
Of course the American Family Association spins all of its actual work into the code words that social conservatives think absolves their movement from the intended wrongdoing and/or supremacy attached to their goals. But hey, at least their new ad is embracing the "extremist" label:
Fighting against the "extremist" label while keeping Bryan Fischer on your senior staff is like fighting childhood obesity by entrusting your family's daily meals to Cap'N Crunch, Auntie Anne, and Ronald McDonald....
FRC prays for God's people to 'arise' against LGBT rights
Because of the President's action on behalf of basic workplace protections for LGBT employees of federal contractors and related bits of progress, the Family Research Council is instructing supports to pray for the reversal of the "activist homosexual agenda":
Nah, FRC. Hillary's on our side.
But the good thing is that FRC supporters don't really need to pray for protection, since they have not lost one iota of protection under this President or Congress. What FRC does seem...
Michael Brown will save his waning movement by grouping homosexuality with incest
The choice to have sexual relations with a member of one's own family has nothing to do with homosexuality. Obviously. The latter is a scientifically recognized sexual orientation that people only learn to dislike because they are taught to do so; the former is a chosen act that is a taboo for reasons that are both apparent and instinctive.
But of course the anti-LGBT movement is on a slippery slope toward irrelevancy and is desperate to do something—anything—to reverse their course. Which is...

GOP pollster Luntz to Heritage Foundation's Anderson: 'Gay marriage is harmless'
In 2011, GOP pollster and TV news contributor (for both CBS News and Fox News) Frank Luntz moderated the big anti-gay event that The Family Leader, National Org. for Marriage, and Focus on the Family held with all of that year's GOP presidential hopefuls. Times have apparently changed:
I've read the book. Psst, Ry: It's not the Common Sense, Uncle Tom's Cabin, or The Jungle. Hell, it's not even Atlas Shrugged!
When your premise is so fundamentally broken, your prose doesn't stand a chance.

Read: Federal court judge rules against Colorado's discriminatory marriage ban
He stayed his ruling until August 25th in case the wrong side wants to appeal to the 10th circuit (where panels have already stricken Utah and Oklahoma bans), but US District Judge Raymond P. Moore has done as expected and ruled against Colorado's discrimination marriage amendment. Full order:

You guys, will you please pipe down so Sen. Rubio can dismantle your deserved freedoms?
And now the gentle-victim from Florida will take the floor:
“Those who support same-sex marriage have a right to lobby their state legislature to change its laws. But Americans like myself who support keeping the traditional definition of marriage also have the right to work to keep the traditional definition of marriage in our laws without seeing them overturned by a judge.”...
“I promise you that even before this speech is over, I’ll be attacked as a hater or a bigot or someone who’s anti-gay...
'Mask is coming off' LGBTs, says man who vowed to export and/or criminalize LGBTs
Peter Sprigg:
“The mask is coming off of the homosexual movement’s agenda. They really do not believe in religious liberty. They want forced affirmation of homosexual and transgender conduct to trump every other consideration in the workplace – including religious liberty.” [SOURCE (the column of Fox News' resident anti-gay crap-stirrer, Todd Starnes]
