'Ex-gay' org. creates homosexuality evacuation plan. Literally. There's a map

The latest wacky idea from "pray away the gay" group PFOX (Parents and Friends of "Ex-gays") is a so-called "evacuation plan" from homosexuality and supportive church teaching. And because they are a totally rational organization and in no way an unintentional joke of a group the "ex-gay" team is using imagery that calls to mind a fire escape route. Behold:

Audio: FRC prez, in a church, calls for 'throwing unelected judges on the dung heap of history'

While delivering a sermon at Leesburg, Virginia's Cornerstone Chapel, Family Research Council Tony Perkins had this to say about a crucial third branch of government:

[SOURCE]

The fact that a D.C. worker bee who makes his living in American politics is so disrespectful to the judiciary's crucial role is gross enough. But this is the FRC we're talking about, so of course the president's condemnations-via-sermon can't come without added hypocrisy. Less than one minute before the above attack on "...

NOM: Marriage fight is 'civilization-defining battle'

National Organization For Marriage co-founder Robert George is now going around saying that the fight for marriage, which from his perspective is a fight to stop same-sex couples from access to it, is the "civilization-defining battle" of our time. NOM is eager to promote this phrase:

A bit heavy-handed, I would say. I myself am very invested in this fight myself, though from the right and good and fair and peaceful side. For the past decade or so, I've spilled a ton of ink, will, and swe...

Catholic organization NOM takes itself out of pertinent debate on *civil* marriage

The National Organization For Marriage is a very Catholic organization. That is not news. I beat that drum for years, back when NOM failed to acknowledge its obvious religious root, but now NOM is not really even trying to hide it.

In its latest social media post, NOM, the head group fighting civil marriage equality in this nation, shows just how different of a conversation they are having from those of us who are arguing the constitutional facets of the freedom to marry under civil law:

Maggie Gallagher's reliable sleight of hand

It was a few months after she helped pass the discriminatory Proposition 8, roll back equality in California, and write marriage discrimination into the Golden State's constitution that I first heard Maggie Gallagher go on in length about how she was the supposed victim of the same-sex marriage fight. "They're going to call us bigots," was the gist of her fearful claim. Listen to that speech here.

What struck me at the time, and what continued to strike me in the subsequent years in which her...

Another anti-gay business learns we were right: you can't flout nondiscrimination law because you feel like it

Screen Shot 2014-08-15 At 10.49.30 AmI did several posts on Liberty Ridge Farm, the for-profit business that the ever-deceptive anti-equality movement pretended was simply a family farm. Basically this was just another one of those stories where a public accommodation, this one in the Albany area of New York state, wanted to have its wedding cake and deny gays too. Backstory here and here.

Anyway, I'm thrilled that my home state has come to the only possible outcome:

The New York State Division of Human Rights has affirmed the sta...

Audio: LA's top anti-LGBT activist claims discrimination is really 'the shame and guilt the homosexual feels'

The city council of Baton Rouge, LA, recently defeated an ordinance that would have simply safeguarded LGBT citizens with fair nondiscrimination policies. Gene Mills, head of the Louisiana Family Forum went on Tony Perkins' daily radio show to do a victory dance, where he and fill-in host Richard Land determined that gay people are really engaging in the ultimate rebellion against God and that what LGBT people call discrimination is really just the shame that they feel inside.

(Land is first...

Prominent conservative activist: Oppose marriage equality like you'd oppose genocide

With the losses mounting, the social conservatives' rhetoric turns predictably more dangerous and offensive:

Screen Shot 2014-08-15 At 9.59.18 Am"This is not an issue in which you can remain silent any more than you can remain silent during Nazi Germany. That was a moral issue, it was not defined by geography, there was a moral imperative there of the dignity of the human being, you can’t remain silent there and expect no consequences. Nor can you remain silent or advocate to the contrary with regards to the undermining of marri...

Audio: Conservative research-tivist Mark Regnerus warns of accepting same-sex marriage as 'legitimate relationship form'

Being that he himself is an obvious conservative Christian activist, first and foremost, one of the most publicly debunked researchers of the past decade, Mark Regnerus, went on the very anti-gay "Drew Mariani Show" today where he pushed his new gay-marriage-is-going-to-break-morality study and told how conservative Christians "can take back the ground we've lost." Here's the short interview:
