'Nonpartisan' NOM's entrenched Republicanism again showing
For an organization that likes to claim it's beholden to neither party, the National Organization For Marriage sure is eager to "retake" the Democratic-controlled Senate:
[NOM]
There's no other potential meaning. The US Senate is under Democratic majority leadership, and Republican special interest group NOM wishes it would be in the hands of conservatives instead. That's because NOM is actually deeply partisan, as are all of its key staffers.
When they talk about being bi- or nonpartisan, all t...

AFA's Bryan Fischer: Diversity is 'most sinister and dangerous lie'
Bryan Fischer has a new enemy. This time it's the very idea that our world is a salad rather than a beige mush:
Perhaps the most sinister and dangerous lie the left has beaten into the brains of unthinking Americans is that there is strength in diversity. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Diversity, as the first syllable in the word implies, divides. It does not unify. It fractures, debilitates, and diffuses. Energy that could be harnessed through unity of purpose and values is frittered...

Michael Sam's teammate offers perfect response to silly shower 'story'
Over the past few days, ESPN and other outlets have reported that openly gay St. Louis Rams player Michael Sam is spending his time at training camp self-segregating his showering habits so that he doesn't make his teammates uncomfortable. Teammate Chris Long offers the perfect response to the ridiculous angle:
ESPN has apologized for the report. They say they will instead focus on whether his uniform is more well-coordinated than his teammates, if he's redecorated the locker room...

Photo: Negligent NOM posts baby with choking hazard; will someone please think of the children?
As a parent of an infant, my eyes are like laser beams in constant hunt of objects that might pose a chocking hazard to my little peanut. But while I know that anything small enough to pass through a toilet paper roll is a potential danger, apparently NOM is not concerned enough about infants' growth and development to keep potential dangers out of the vulnerable baby's hands. This graphic is like a warning poster from a pediatrician's office:
Should baby wake, that hand is going right to that...
Audio: #7thCircuit considers whether marital discrimination is as ugly as other forms (hint: it is)
Via Freedom to Marry comes the oral arguments from today's Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals hearing. There were two cases, one out of Indiana and one out of Wisconsin, and the three judges' questioning (at a court known to be somewhat conservative) seemed to indicate good things ahead for the right side of history.
First up is audio from the Indiana case (Baskin v. Bogan):
And here is the sound from the Wisconsin leg (Wolf v. Walker):
Freedom to Marry's full writeup is here.
