Young conservative leader should condemn FRC's reckless rhetoric; this is me telling him as much

It began with a tweet about TLC reality star and new Family Research Council Action Executive Director Josh Duggar, and his saying that his show will continued to film him while he serves the aggressively anti-gay organization. But then it became so much more.

What follows is my recent exchange with Manhattan Declaration executive director Eric Teetsel, one among the small cadre of "next generation" marriage anti-equality activists that people on the right keep trying to inflate into a movemen...

Video: Openly straight couple risks own marriage's sanctity, backs radical equality agenda

Their reasons are varied, but their commitment is firm. The gays should be free:

Thanks for the support! Now please stop using "ret*rded" as an insult.

To the back of the bus. Literally.

This does not help the anti-gay far-right's insistence that theirs is the true civil rights movement of our time:

“I saw him look at us, look down at his hands and he looked so angry,” McCoy said. “He just blurted out at me, he goes, “'Okay, if you're going to do that, you're going to the back of the bus.'"

Gay couple ordered to the back of the bus for holding hands [Towle]

No word on whether the bus driver also divided passengers according to what water fountain he insisted they use.

Video: PA Democrats say Gov. Corbett is on wrong side of public opinion, history

With marriage equality grabbing daily headlines in his state, Pennsylvania's Republican governor has been noticeably mealy-mouthed about where he personally stands. The local Democrats have noticed, and they are calling on him to either own his past comments on the matter or (preferably) do the right thing and announce his support for equality:

It's an odd time to be a Republican executive in a moderate state. It's also a really good time for a principled leader to make a positive change from...

We're wild! We're lawless! We have parasols!

This is the latest cover of the latest edition of WorldNetDaily's weekly publication:

[WND Weekly]

Well, you all might think I'm wild, WND editors. But you know something I wouldn't do? I wouldn't ever lift a private person's personal photo from the 2012 New York City Pride Parade and use it for the cover image of a publication that I sell for profit. That is, however, exactly what you all did with this cover photo, which you lifted from writer Claire Heyison. The image comes from Ms. Heysion's...

'People call us names!' cries org that takes people's civil rights

NOM's the victim, in case you haven't heard:

Funny, I've probably written more words about the National Organization For Marriage (both here and at NOM Exposed) than any commentator working today, and I've never used any of those terms. I do, however, use words like "wrong."

FRC prays God has bought into far-right's strategic 'victim' meme

From the Family Research Council's weekly "prayer targets":

God is all like, "Huh? Aren't Christians a large majority in America? Don't you in the America part of Earth still operate in a political reality where candidates pretty much have to identify as Christian to win election? Don't a lot of LGBT people and LGBT supporters identify as Christians? And aren't all of those cited incidents that you conservatives use to claim you're the victim actually isolated examples (often from states...

'Homosexualist Justice Anthony Kennedy'

The decidedly extreme Scott Lively has written yet another rabidly anti-gay column, this one about the Pope. You know his usual pattern: Blah, blah, blah…gays…blah, blah, blah…terrible…blah, blah, blah…I'm obsessed. It's all pretty boring, frankly.

There, is however, one thing of note: Scott Lively has taken it upon himself to determine Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is a "homosexualist"

Which leads me to wonder if Lively and the like would be calling Justice Kennedy an "anti-homose...

After so much marriage talk, Maggie Gallagher seeks 'change'

I have heard that Maggie Gallagher is trying to figure out where to take her career now that she's no longer with NOM and no longer writing her column. But I can honestly say that I didn't expect her to choose "ex-gay" water-carrier. That is, however, the role she seems really eager to play these days:

In Maggie's latest, she cites scientific outlier and recent NARTH (National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality) keynoter Nicholas Cummings as "proof" tha...
