Audio: At long last, anti-gay movement gets its dance club hit
Jerry Sulwer of ForHimForever.com says he wanted to record a song that would...
Does his new techno track accomplish his goal? Here, judge for yourself:

For me, it's certainly no "We Shall Overcome" or "It's Been A Long Time Coming." But then again, the pro-discrimination crowd is no ordinary political movement.

Taking joy in the Illinois Family Institute's irrelevancy
I just came across a particularly nasty piece written by Laurie Higgins, the Illinois Family Institute writer and researcher known for both reliable hostility and verbosity. Out of instinct, I opened up a browser window and began writing up a response, hoping to both expose the extremities of this, the group at the forefront of the "protect marriage" fight in that state, and to push back against the flaws in the argument.
Then it hit me: I don't have to care what the IFI says on marriage. Not...
U.S. Senate passes #ENDA! 64-32
By a bipartisan majority (McCain! Flake!), the U.S. Senate has passed the Employment NonDiscrimination Act.
As you likely know, Speaker Boehner has vowed to completely undermine he own civil rights legacy. Or, to say it another way: he has vowed to single-handedly kill the bill in the House.

*From the White House:
Statement by the President on Senate Passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2013
For more than two centuries, the story of our nation has been the story of more citizens...
AFA's star voice: Treat gays like trans fats
And yet the American Family Association wonders why people see them as a "hate group":

FRC honors Veterans Day by claiming gay soldiers have ruined our military
Because of the lifting of the ban on openly gays soldiers, "a no-longer secret war" is being waged against Christians. That is the completely reprehensible way the rabidly anti-LGBT Family Research Council is choosing to recognize this year's Veterans Day:
[FRC]
They really will stop at nothing in their quest to make our fellow countrymen loathe us. Such patriots.
But if you think this holiday hit is bad, just wait until Thanksgiving. I hear FRC plans to blame "the homosexual lifestyle™" for co...
The anti-gay movement loves 'activist judges' (*so long as they're conservative activists)
Responding to a pair of court cases in which two couples married elsewhere but then filed for divorce in their home state of Texas, Lone Star State activist Jonathan Saenz says the following about the Supreme Court justices who will be deciding the matter:
Saenz, who attended the Tuesday arguments, says "it was very clear that the homosexual advocacy side wants to use the divorce issue as a way to undermine our state law that defines marriage as between one man and one woman."
He believes it sh...

'I'm happy if they're [managing to find happiness despite my best efforts on behalf of discrimination]'
My headline is the more accurate phrasing of this, newly re-elected New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's comment on the same-sex couples who are now marrying in his state:
Christie On Gay Marriages In NJ: I'm Happy 'If They're Happy' [TPM]
You know what, governor? You don't deserve any tinge of warm feelings about these couples' marriages! If you felt such a strong need to spend years telling society that these couples' happiness comes at some great expense (and let's be clear: you did), then y...
NOM EXPOSED: NOM prez joins radical coalition seeking ‘to hire and fire at will’
Video: Hi, this is fate calling—is a loving family available to do an amazing thing?
As someone who has personally fielded this kind of call, I can certainly relate to this new Family Equality Council spot:
As I write this, I'm watching my little one sleep. It's only been six weeks since I was in that delivery room, and I already can't imagine life without her.
Don't buy into a lie about familial acceptability. Be an ally for loving families everywhere.
