WND readers: Marriage equality will either not affect us or end us completely

It's probably nothing. Then again, it might be the final chapter in American history. Either/or, suggests the conservative readership of WND:

Going To The Chapel [WND]

The funny thing is, I'm not sure which of the top two answers WND editors would prefer. On the one hand, the top answer allows them to stay happy and alive here at home. But on the other hand, the second possibility allows them to feel self-righteous about the fear claims that they've been peddling for the past decade. I se...

AFA: Gay rights = 'grave threat to our survival as a nation and as a moral and civilized people'

Reflecting on the anti-LGBT organization's recent boycott against Pepsi, the American Family Association "explains" why it's perfectly okay for them to boycott certain companies. Naturally, it's because the acceptance of gay people is going to end us as a nation and a people:

Screen Shot 2015-05-04 At 8.26.31 Pm A few days ago, I received an e-mail from a Christian lady who believes boycotts are not a valid means of defending moral values. Specifically, she disagrees with the AFA boycott of PepsiCo, in part because she has re...

Tony Perkins: Baltimore unrest might be godly punishment for declaring 'moral rights to that which is morally wrong'

The Family Research Council president, who is currently busy attacking CBS newsman Bob Schieffer for making note of his extremism on-air, is back with yet more of the very rhetoric that earned him his reputation. Take it away, Tony Perkins:

Screen Shot 2015-05-04 At 7.36.38 PmWhen the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when the wicked rule, the people groan. Hello, this is Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. With yet another American city smoldering not from an attack by foreign jihad...

The oddity that is the LGBT rights debate circa 2015

For over ten years, I've slogged through this here "culture war" in order to take on the worst, silliest, and most unsound arguments that the other side uses against us. Some days it's been incredibly frustrating. Other days it's been much more jubilant. But now, at this particular stage of the game? It's just weird. Rather than talk about matters that they have largely lost, the opposition is now holding side debates that offshoot off their side debates.

For instance, we all know they've b...

Why's the far-right putting a long discarded fear card back in the deck?

Over the past week, rightie talker Glenn Beck, conservative US Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia, and GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush,to name just three, have all floated the idea that pastors and priests and ministerial what-have-yas will all have to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies once civil marriage equality comes to all states. In doing so, they've stoked this new meme of sorts among a far-right that is already hyperventilating over the likely possibility of a Supreme Court r...

'The newly stigmatized' Maggie Gallagher

More than just about anyone else who works in the "pro-family" movement, Maggie Gallagher is determined to sell the flawed, offensive, and incredibly entitled idea that it's worse to be called out for your anti-gay activism, your lobbying against civil rights, or your flouting of nondiscrimination law, etc., than it is to actually do those things. I first noticed it right after Proposition 8 passed and Maggie started going around warning that people might someday view her actions against sam...

Tony Perkins is denying he calls for pro-equality judges to be impeached; he's lying and here's empirical proof

If you saw this past weekend's edition of CBS's Face The Nation, you might have seen host Bob Schieffer ask Family Research Council head Tony Perkins, "Did you really say that justices who come down on the side of gays on this should be impeached?" Perkins emphatically replied, "No, I didn't say that." You can watch the clip here (pertinent point at 3:53).

Today, in the afternoon "Washington Update" column that goes out under his name, FRC is going on the offensive claiming that the whole t...

Reality stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar vow to defy pro-equality SCTOUS ruling

I've already told you about the so-called "marriage pledge," wherein some of the most extreme activists in the nation have vowed to openly defy any Supreme Court ruling that brings marriage equality to all fifty states. Well look who also signed on:

FULL LIST: Defend Marriage

Because openly flouting court-tested laws and the civil rights of your neighbor is apparently the path to both heaven and your own highly profitable TV fame. And all this time I thought it was love and respect that g...

Video: At US Capitol event hosted by GOP lawmakers, God's wrath over gay marriage explored as if it's likely

This happened inside the United States Capitol, at an event hosted by Republican US Senator James Lankford and Republican US Representative Randy Forbes:
"...If the nation's high court should pass judgement on the Almighty, should you then be surprised that the Almighty should then pass judgment on the court and that nation?"

Capitol Prayer Service: God Will Punish America For Legalizing Gay Marriage [RWW]

Should we be surprised if God ends us over certain citizens' love? Um, I think it...
