Interview: Emily Griggs
Today we’re joined by Emily Griggs. Emily is a fantastically talented and versatile visual artist and writer. She has a thoroughly entertaining webcomic entitled “Heartless,” which has been signal boosted on this site before. She has an incredibly bright future ahead of her and I cannot wait to see more of her work. My thanks to her for taking the time to participate in this interview.

“gentle reminder that cleopatra’s beauty is rumored to have started wars in ancient history” — a post going around Tumblr
Actually Cleopatra was said to have not actually been that beautiful — men said that until she opened her mouth, she was simply average. What made her beautiful according to Plutarch was her personality and intelligence. Her sparkling wit, charming personality, talent with over half a dozen languages, and in-depth knowledge of almost everything was just so i...

She comes from the same planet as David Bowie and Tilda Swinton.
One of my faves: Katherine Hepburn.
i’m so painfully in love with her.
Fun fact: this still is from Sylvia Scarlett, which featured one of the earliest female/female kisses in Hollywood history. (Though, granted, the other lady thought Hepburn’s characterwas a dude.)
Didn’t really like the rest of the film, though.

Gaines fought frequently with the CCA in an attempt to keep his ma...

That should probably say “Guest-starring pieces of Black Canary”.
BLUGGGHH I hate this cover. Why are they presenting her like a jelly-spined love interest when a) in the actual comic she wears super-baggy super-casual clothes, and b) she’s practically Arsenal’s mother figure. Seriously, ew.
It’s a good comic though. Don’t let the cover scare you off.

Not only that, but if you notice at the beginning, the cat *gets the man’s attention* as any person who wanted to talk to a deaf/hoh individual would (well, and vice versa IME). I’ve done sign since I was 5, and generally, w/o eye contact...
