returnofthejudai:

I don’t care if you’re Jewish or not. If you act like commemorating the deaths of 6 million of our number is somehow a privilege and that we are not allowed to mourn our own dead or speak out against the hatred that caused such horrors without ALSO simultaneously talking about other genocides, you are being antisemitic. Gather round folks.

We’re officially taking on the United States Supreme Court!

Short Summary: In 1929, the case, Buck v. Bell went before the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that it is legal to sterilize the“unfit” — people with disabilities. This decision was the spark that ignited the eugenics movement in the United States and influenced Adolf Hitler, leading to millions of steri...

I mostly agree with the caveat an the author should understand when something a character does is problematic and deliberately writes it that way. There’s nothing wrong with writing about a raging dumpster fire of a character, there’s nothing wrong even with allowing that character to win and continue on his or her burning way, but you have to be fully self-aware what exactly you are writing about. When an author la...

lgbt-australians:

lgbt australians.

That is why I’ve created this blog. My aims for this blog are to create a safe space for lgbtaustralians amongst the hostility of the current political climate surrounding our community....

as a general rule. if what we’re calling ‘cultural appropriation’ sounds like nazi ideology (i.e. ‘white people should only do white people things and black people should only do black people things’) with progressive language, we are performing a very very poor application of what ‘cultural appropriation’ means. this is troublingly popular in the blogosphere right now and i think we all need to be more critical of...
