“Runaway Train” Love Is Like!

Runaway Train

Loving is like a runaway train

It goes so fast you never know

What the end of the track will be

Emotions don’t have an on-and-off button

So it is hard to control the speed

At which you will go

Like a train, it is better to start slow

And gradually build up to the highest speed

Or plateau

If too fast, you could jump off the track or crash

A train ride, like a relationship

Can be a pleasant and smooth ride

Or

It can be frightening and an unpredictable experience

Things I Forgot

Regarding the task of living and the obstacles we face

I contemplate the little things I took pleasure in

But no longer do

Yes, the seemingly, unimportant, little things I do or see

That give me a great reward

And allow me to see how small my troubles really are

To forgive, when wrong was done to me

Allows my heart to be the vessel

Where only goodwill and love dwell

I miss those small tasks

I used to do lovingly for my mate

That fell away on the side of indifference

Laughter is no longer a part of my daily living

Reaching out to the people in need

Has no more importance

Selfishness has taken its place

I want to remember all the wonderful things

God has offered to me, freely and lovingly

That I have closed my eyes to

Oh, how beautiful the mountains are

Cherishing What You Have

My Dear Friends,

We, so often wonder, “Is this it?”, instead of saying thanks for what we have at this moment. Then, maybe, for some God awful reason, we loose what we have. Then all of a sudden, we realize we had it All, from the start. Grasp each moment, embrace your loved ones and ,PLEASE, don’t hold on to anger. It wastes so much time. I love you all. Have an awesome day. Barb

Dreaming

Dreaming

It seems my days are of things

That only God can bring

Now blessed with the man of my dreams

Living the good life it seems

There is a longing for something more

A precious child for us to adore

All the little things, like saying prayers at night

A kiss and a hug make everything right

Watching them grow, stepping out on their own

Before you know it, they are grown

Praying for a guardian angel close by

To comfort them when they cry.

I know parents make many mistakes

Yet we try and do whatever it takes

O God!  If it is your will

Allow our dreams to become real

We promise to teach them all about You

To help them, no matter what they do

A miracle is what I am asking for now

I know it can happen with…

“Magic of the Touch”

Magic Of The Touch

There is magic in the touch.
All of us need the magic of the touch, a hug, or a kiss.
Human beings thrive on affections of all kinds,
and do not do well without the magic of the touch.
A small infant knows the soothing and comfort of a simple touch
and falls asleep feeling safe.
With a child, a touch and hug can calm her from misbehavior.
An adult does better at work, in social settings,
and intimacy of friendship with the magic of a simple touch.
As I fill my days with meaningless tasks,
how I long for a simple touch of kindness.
How does mankind go through life with indifference
when they are truly linked to each other?
We are forever needing the magic of the touch.

Each Little Teardrop

As I lie in my bed, crying every night

I remember something Grandma said

as she held me close

snuggled against her breast.

With fear and sadness overwhelming me

I’d remember what she would say

“Go ahead and cry, little one, I am here.

Grandma loves you, just wait and see

each and every teardrop

has a blessing that’s just for you.”

Now as my life goes by

and all the heartaches begin

like losing my loved ones

and asking myself why

I’m feeling sadness within.

People say, “God says nothing is an accident.

Each person has a season.

Tears are like rains that wash away the pain

and people meet for a specific reason.”

So, my friend, lean on me

for my intentions are true.

Give your worries to the Lord

and don’t be so blue.

Even if you cry a thousand teardrops

each has a…

Fallen Angel

I remember the most, all the little things From the moment I held him dear All these memories, love is what it brings Knowing in this time of loss, he is near

God watch over this fallen angel. Who is with you now? Lord knows, how much he will be missed But we’ll get through it somehow

Family comes to mourn from near and far Asking why Let him be that shining star High in the Heavens sky

God watch over this fallen

angel Who will always have a special place in my heart Give me strength to bear each day Remembering his smile, from me, will never part
