Chapter 18: A History of Kings
The first, most prominent and unmistakable thing Brandyé noticed about the City of White Stone is that it was built almost entirely of stone whose color was so black he could scarcely fathom it. The size of the city was equally unfathomable, stretching for what Brandyé estimated to be several miles in all directions from the base of the mountain. Its buildings rose ever higher as they approached the foot of the mountain, which was itself a monumental cliff, climbing thousands of feet into the air to a snow-capped peak. Below this, dominating the city like a towering lord of darkness was a great castle, built part into the rock itself, so that it seemed to grow from the living stone. Its spires were of…

He Calls To Me

He Calls To Me
My love calls to me
In whispers through the night
The fog blinds his sight
Yet
The sweet scent of magnolias guides him to me
Softly embracing
Moving our feet to a soft lover’s waltz
While
The whispers of love float through the hazy mist
Lingering in a soft melody
Listen
He calls to me
Wanting and needing to be forever close
Oh
To watch the dawn break and the mist subside
As
He calls to me
Knowing
I’m always near

Witnessing pain without feeling anything
Witnessing love without feeling anything

Waiting for the child within me to wake up…
If we don’t posses anything, then what we truly lose?

NaPoWriMo Day 7: Poetry: A Raven’s Musings

Dark thoughts, dark night
Anxiously waiting for daylight
He spreads his wings at midnight
What a glorious sight

Shady plans, shady intentions
The Raven’s unknown missions
Or are these just assumptions?
Silently, the dark awakens
Obscure words, obscure whispering
I can hear a maiden begging
For a peaceful, painless ending
Death can be a blessing
-
Sinister bird , sinister beauty
His dark appearance sets me free
A voice filled with melancholy
Listening to the Raven calling me

Sing, then, O Sweet Passion,
And Rouse these Dreams with Songs
That spill from Depths Within the Soul,
Transforming All that Will Yet Be.

Beauty in Words

Need anything more truly be said? And yet, since I have the inclination to natter, I shall attempt to agree, poetically.
And by agreeing to say that there is nothing worth saying that could ever be said, even in the starkest form, that is not, by some measure and in the generalist terms, some form of poetic entrancement; for if, in speaking or writing, we utter anything at all worth saying, it shall be remembered; and if something is remembered, it can be considered remarkable enough to have made remembrance worthwhile, which leads one to the eventual conclusion that, if it is worthwhile to be recollected, there must be some form or nature in it that catches the imagination, sparks the well-spring of contemplation or illuminates musings and that, being colourfully or creatively inspired is, in its most…

“Really…what causes us to fear? Is it the uncertainty of the unexpected in a world that appears to be falling apart before our eyes? Or perhaps the unknowing of what takes place around us spiritually? There could be a number of things which causes us to fear and doubt, whether it’s for family, job insecurities, our walk of faith being “lukewarm”, or just our unknown future. The fact is as children of the living God, sealed with the Holy Spirit and saved by His grace…what should we fear? The Lord stated that; “These things I have spoken unto…

My Wings is a collection of poetry written by the heart and soul of Just Patty.
Just Patty is the poet name used by the Dutch author Patty van Delft.
Why the name ‘Just Patty’? Because writing poetry is a naked reflection of the heart and soul, nothing more and nothing less. It’s ‘Just You’ without decorations.
This collection contains 111 poems divided into two parts: My Dark Wings & My Light Wings.
Part 1 My Dark Wings is a collection of dark poetry describing some very recognizable emotions like: grief, fear, frustration, melancholy, depression, but also the strength and courage to battle on no matter what.
Part 2: My Light Wings is a collection of light poetry containing motivation, love, support and the will to enjoy life.
This poetry book is illustrated with some amazing black & white…
